Happy Halloween Stampendous Style

Morning all, And a slightly premature Happy Halloween to you.
This is just a quick post today with a couple of ways to use some of the newer Stampendous Halloween Stamps. I have used Freda Cat and Pirate Cove.
I started by creating a couple of Atc's using mdf blanks from That Craft Place.
The images were stamped with Memento ink on some 240gsm  card and coloured with Copic markers. Once coloured they were glued to the Atc blanks and trimmed to fit.
They have been finished with a couple of coats of Clear ultra thick embossing powder, also from Stampendous.

I decided to add a little extra and turn them into tags. I had some old grey boards knocking about and decided to use them up.
The boards were given a couple of coats of Decoarts Tinting base to provide a nice white base. The images were stamped with Archival ink and colour washes were added to give an aged and worn look. Finally the boards were given a coat of Decoart Matte Medium to seal the surface. This was important as I was using their One Step Crackle Glaze which needs to be applied over a sealed surface for the best results.
Once dry the Atc's were overlaid  and glued to the boards. xx

If you head over to the Stampendous Blog you will find lots more Halloween makes this month xx.

Chalk Paint ATC's

Thanks for stopping by, I hope all is well where you are?
With mothers day and my sisters birthday coming up this weekend I needed something to give my mum and sister and as I am not a big card maker I decided to be a little different and make some Atc's and use them instead.
I started with some mdf blanks from Tando Creative and used Decoart's Chalky Finish Paints for the background.
I used three of the new colours in the range and used the same three colours for each Atc just varied the amount of each colour as I blended them together allowing each colour to partly dry before adding the next colour, this allowed for a softer blending and different colour tones to show through.
I used the colours, Colonial, Victorian and Bestow.

I have used the Tim Holtz Pear stamp and stamped using Stazon ink. the edges have been distressed with the ink and the back has been painted black so I can write a birthday message to my sister with a white posca pen. The Atc has been finished with a satin varnish, this really helps bring out the colours and makes things pop a little more.

This stamp is from Viva Las Vegas Stamps and will be a mothers day card from my 6 month old Niece to her mum with a little message on the back.

This stamp is also from Viva Las Vegas Stamps and this Atc will be making its way to my mum for mothers day.

Thanks for stopping by. xx

Stacked Acrylic ATC Birthday Card

Afternoon all, Thanks for stopping by.
I have been playing with the Stacking Atc's I helped designed with That's Crafty for my mixed media Atc class.
Today I have used it as a Birthday card for my sister who's birthday is tomorrow.
I have used stamps from Carabelle Studio, My sister had a pair of red shoes like these when she was young and this stamp just put me in mind of her wen she was young.
I have added a layer of some gold leaf using the Stampendous Stamp n Bond. This product acts like an embossing powder and once heated you add the gold leaf, It's so much cleaner and easier than using the gilding glues.
To add my colour I have used Decoart Media Fluids. and for the spacey look for the back ground I added a couple of pinches of Stampendous,s fine white embossing powder.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hopefully I will see some of you at the Andy Skinner/Tando-Creative Ministry of Mixology retreat next month xx.

Mixed Media Tags. Decoart Media and Carabelle Studio Stamps and a little Brett Weldele

A post today just because.
I have recently discovered a stamp company called Carabelle Studios and are available from That's Crafty and to say the speak to me is a little of an understatement and I just had to get painty straight away.
As most of you know I love making tags so I sat down with some Tando-Creative  media boards and got started.
As always I have used Decoart Media Fluids to create my backgrounds.

The first two tags I have finger painted. Just add a small spot of paint to your craft mat and then get dirty.
I applied colours allowing the paint to pretty much dry but whilst it was still a little tacky so I could get a subtle blend of colours, with the translucent colours I mixed them with a little of the tinting base just to make them opaque.

For an added touch I added some gold leaf to this tag.
I used a product from Stampendous called Stamp n Bond, it's basically an embossing powder that turns into a glue. Stamp your image with Versamark ink, apply the Stamp n bond like an embossing powder, tap off the excess and use your heat tool to activate. The Stamp n bond turns clear so you know when its ready to use.
The gilding flakes were added and and tamped down and after a little drying time the excess was brushed off revealing the stamped detail.

The back ground for this stamp was created with colour washes and then layering up stamped images with different archival inks.
Some stencilling was added, this is also from Carabelle Studios and I used the tinting base to add a little pop of white.
All my tags have been coated with a couple of coats of  Decoart Media Satin Varnish. I find this really makes the colours stand out and gives a more finished look than just leaving it painted.

This Atc has been made from an Acrylic Atc blank from That's Crafty and I have used Stazon ink for the images.

I shared this Tag a couple of days ago on facebook and it's using one of Brett Weldele's latest images. I made this for my daughters birthday as she is a huge Sherlock Holmes fan, the image could not be more perfect.

Thanks for stopping by xxx.

Decoart Crackle Paste ATC - De Stempelwinkel and a Shabby Box

Morning all.
I'm sharing over at De Stempelwinkel.
Jetske has just got several of the Decoart Media mediums in stock and I have been playing with the Crackle Paste and Antiquing Creams to come up with a steam punk ATC.
If you have time it would be lovely to see you over there and if you have time you can check out our latest challenge theme on our new challenge blog.

I am also sharing this little shabby chic box I painted using the Decoart Chalk Paint and Stencils.

For the last few months I have been busy shabby chicing loads of things as I have taken the plunge and opened a stand at the new Christchurch Emporium in Dorset
It opened last weekend and it was amazing to see the number of people that turned up on opening day. I was back there this weekend and this is one of the new pieces I added. I picked the box up a few weeks ago and it was beautiful but just plain wood.
I used Decoarts Chalk Paint 'Vintage' and gave the box a couple of coats to get a nice even coat.Using a sanding block and medium grade paper I distressed the box and finished by give a final sanding with some fine grade paper.
Using 'Relic' the stencilling was added and then sanded back to make it look distressed. The box was finished with a couple of coats of satin varnish.

Ill be sharing more pics of the stand soon. xx
Thanks for stopping by.

Morning all and thank you for stopping by x.
It's my turn over at De Stempelwinkel today.
I'm working on a new ATC mixed media workshop at the moment and this is my first play at trying something a little different.
My ATC was kindly cut for me by That's Crafty from Acrylic. I used Decoart Media Fluids for my back ground and black Stazon ink for my stamping.
You can see the full ATC over on the De Stempelwinkel and you can see how the image is hovering over the background.
Thanks as always for stopping by xx

I would like to enter this atc into the challenge over at Wicked Wednesdays atc challenge. The theme is groovy Chicks.
