Hi everyone,
Here is my project for this week! It’s not what I had planned to show you but after the lovely lady Mary Ellis passed away last week, I felt this Stamp was perfect for her.
I grew up close to RAF Kenley, an active station during WW2 although only gliders fly from there now. I spent many hours playing in and out of the old air raid shelters (wouldn’t be allowed today) and was very aware of their important use during the war. My dad loved the the old aircraft and one day I intend to have a flight in a Spitfire for him as he would have loved it.
This year is the Centenary of the RAF and last week we lost a lady who was one of a number of women pilots responsible for flying the aircraft around the country to different airfields. She reached the great age of 101 years and had many stories to tell! An amazing lady who flew all sorts of aircraft during and after the war finished.
So my project this time is a tribute to her and the RAF. Hope you like it!
I started by stamping the image with Memento Ink and colouring with Copics....
What we do without google! Lots of RAF images gave me what I needed to make a background collage....
Start building up your collage. My mounts were blue, red and white although the blue hadn’t come out very well in the photo!
