bah. dumb blogger killed my post this morning. oh well.

4 days to exam. VERY GOOOD. because that means its 13 days more to the END of exam. wee hee.

these few days have been rather mad. well actually only one person has gone mad. and that is wesley. not to say that he wasn't mad before, just that he got...more mad recently.

QUESTION

what has bowl hair, slit eyes, flat nose, is very smelly, thinks he's very cool, wears aeroplane underwear and owns a paddy field?

the first one should have given it all away. its WESLEY. and with this we begin a slew of wesley jokes.

Why did malcolm get wesley?
He couldn't afford a dog

Why does malcolm pray every night?
because he has a son like wesley

Why did wesley cross the road?
to get to the manhole on the other side

the above 3 were contributed by XIDE.

oh that day, wesley was talking about how he beat neh neh nail at badminton
"I brought whoopass on neh neh nail" - wesley
"you know what else he brought? his aeroplane underwear" - leong

haha. its not that we were staring. it was just that the aeroplanes were so colourful and it was impossible not to notice...lolol.

wesley and ian were talking about i dunno what on the way to the bus stop...
"Can you vomit like me?" - wesley, very dramatically

the following (and all the above) is evidence that wesley has really gone mad...
*wesley waves his arms around at me*
"I send my flies to attack you! WOOOO!" - wesley

few minutes later, wesley does the same thing...
"WOOOOOOO"- wesley
"what was that? flies again?"- me
"no, other insects" - wesley, self proclaimed king of the garbage can.

and now, other random nonsense

while revising chem...
"oxygen is produced in combustion" - IAN CHEONG, only realising his mistake moments after...

on a chem worksheet: what is a strong base?
"its a base with a lot of guns" - oli

leong trying to refer to those dogs that guide the blind...
"...blind leading dog" - leong

and darren chew being random and out of point.
"do you have rice at home? - chew
"ya, why?" - me
"dunno...just felt like asking" - chew

hoho. i shall attempt to post some pics later =D see you

oh. anyone know where i can get gyroscopes? any kind also can, from those cheap toy ones, to gimballed ones or those used in inertial navigation systems.

i have no idea why, but i just got suddenly fascinated by the simplicity and the sheer coolness of gyroscopic precession =)

please don't tell me to use a bicycle wheel...i don't have a bike to start with.

thanks in advance =)

hoho. long time no post.

anyway, exams are nearing. haven't really started studying yet..just read through everything for a math (reading through doesn't really help in math as everyone knows) i have been very lethargic over the past few days, have no idea why. Just want to sleep and sleep =(

today was a good day though. played 3 hours of badminton. Didn't lose a single singles game (yay), and doubles were extremely amusing, especially with neh neh nail and ian cheong, who kept making very loud noises.

yesterday was good as well. you know why? because it was a FRIDAY. went to pizza HUT for lunch, and watched wesley re-bowl his hair. extremely amusing i must say. hmm. i seem to find everything amusing. oh well. i'm such a cheap thrill.

oh, and just for records, while i was in mat land, i saw 2 mat MiG-29Ns, and lots of BAe Hawk trainers which the mats are very fond of =D

eek. yet another blogger was arrested for posting racially derogatory stuff on their blogs. i wonder if the use of 'mat' is bad >.<

anyway, the above was just an excuse so that i can post quotes. my favourite part. weee.

"I want to eat an antelope" - Ian Lin being random and out of point, during one of the briefings in the CPA

"you can talk to everything, just that some things don't talk back to you" - Ian Lin, on his..interest in talking to inanimate objects

LEONG and oli were arguing whether the trombone or the viola is a better instrument...i dunno how the argument degenerated into this...

"are you looking down on bach?" - oli
"yes yes yes i am, what're you gonna do, call bach to come and whack me ah?" - LEONG

"Ian is going to Jack's place tomorrow" - LEONG
"who's Jack?" - oli

after teaching leong how to turn of the sound of the k750i camera...
"Oh...you mean the sound is fake?" - oli

hahaha. and yesterday, when wesley was asked by the barber on what hairstyle he wanted...

"Any style. Just don't make it a bowl" - Wesley

he still ended up with bowl hair in the end. how amusing =D

rah. i need to start on my revisionnnn. ahhhhh help me.

i like cheese

oh yeahhhh. F-15T got the contract =D

MINDEF Statement on Next Fighter Replacement Programme
Posted: 06 Sep 2005, 1900 hours (Time is GMT +8 hours)

In response to media queries on the status of the SAF’s Next Fighter Replacement Programme (NFRP), a spokesperson said that MINDEF is now in the process of seeking final clarifications and contract negotiation with Boeing

weee. that is teh leet.

Probably chose the 15T due to firstly ease of logistics. both it and the F-16s we operate are powered by the F100-PW-229 turbofan, use the exact same american weaponry, both utilize the flying boom air refueling method from our KC-135Rs, which the planned F-35 which we are most probably acquiring are using, hence we can retire the KC-130s which use the hose/drogue and probe method currently used to refuel our F-5S/Ts once they retire. commonality = GOOD.

yankees are also giving us the AN/APG-63(V)3 Active Electronically Steered Array (AESA) radar with 15Ts, and the american operated F-15C-E already has a very powerful albeit mechanically steered radar (APG-63/APG-70), hence the APG-63(V)3 AESA would probably be able to rival that of our neighbours' Su-30s N-011 BARS phased array radars.

15T has a superior range, speed, altitude to its competitor, the Rafale. 15T has a larger radar cross section though, and the rafale is probably more maneuverable. However, the evolving trend of air combat dictates that given the advancement of air to air missiles, whoever fires first usually gets the kill, and a powerful radar, and with superior C3I (command, control, communications, intelligence) network, our AWACS (airborne warning and control system, our E-2C hawkeyes) and ELINT (electronic intelligence) superiority, coupled with more advanced versions of the combat proven AMRAAM (advanced medium range air to air missile), the AIM-120C-7, and high off-boresight infrared missiles (the AIM-9X) would ultimately give us an edge in any air to air combat in the region.

Air to Ground, i daresay the F-15Es, with its capable ground attack radar and wide range of precision guided munitions and unguided 'dumb' bombs, are second to none. And we're getting F-15Ts, souped up versions of the mudhen. 'nuff said.

i shall now dig up an old pic i once had, of F-15s in RSAF markings

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

yep. a pair of nice 15Ts, with AIM-9M sidewinders, 12 Mk-82 500lb bombs, an AN/AAQ-14 infrared, laser designator and ranging targeting pod

sweet. and all the other stuff that comes with it

Joe Normal
8 % Nerd, 8% Geek, 17% Dork
For The Record:

A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.

A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.

A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored less than half in all three, earning you the title of: Joe Normal.

This is not to say that you don't have some Nerd, Geek or Dork inside
of you--we all do, and you can see the percentages you have right
above. This is just to say that none of those qualities stand out so
much as to define you. Sure, you enjoy an episode of Star Trek
now and again, and yeah, you kinda enjoyed a few classes back in the
day. And, once in a while, you stumble while walking down the street
even though there was nothing there to cause you to trip. But, for the
most part, you look and act fairly typically, and aren't much of an
outcast.

I'd say there's a fair chance someone asked you to take this test. In any event, fairly normal.

Congratulations!

If you enjoyed this test, I would love the feedback!
