Finished a Script for a Horror Contest

I decided to enter a Horror Movie script contest. I thought it was time to see how my work could fair against a sea of Horror lovers.

So, I came up with, "Smoke"

SMOKE
A quiet weekend becomes a bloody fight for survival as demons attack a small college campus.
It’s Die Hard on a College Campus with Demons
It’s Fall Break at Waltham College and Kevin Dunn couldn’t be happier. He’s planned an awesome date weekend, filled with video games and double pepperoni pizzas. However across the campus, an ancient evil has been unleashed! Foul creatures who hunt their prey through thick green mist.  Now Kevin’s romantic evening becomes a bloody supernatural nightmare as he and a small band of students fight to survive the night!
In this script, Kevin is gay and he's doing everything possible to save his date who's trapped on the top floor of residence hall. It my ode to 80s Horror films that were completely creative and over the top. I'm posting it on Saturday.

  1. The Apparition - A broke ghost story
  2. Paranormal Activity - Somebody can't tell a story
  3. Resident Evil 5- Why are these sh#tty movies still being made?
  4. The Devil Inside - Cheap and sh#tty, worst ending ever
  5. Chernobyl Diaries - This was mistake
  6. Silent House - Unnecessary

A New Horror Film is knocking people off their Feet... For Real

A new horror film called, "V/H/S"caused a stir at Sundance. In fact, folks can't stop talking about it! Some are saying it could be the next big thing if it gets a decent release.

MSNBC reports:

"V/H/S" co-writer Simon Barrett told msnbc.com that while he does think the frightening film content was a factor in the couple's illnesses, it certainly wasn't the only cause.

The movie, which was just aquired by Magnolia Pictures, is about a group of criminals who watch a variety of homemade VHS tapes containing supernatural moments. Barrett tells us that the male viewer became sick during the film's first segment and left the theater for the lobby, where he lost consciousness and collapsed to the floor.

"Without spoiling anything, (the film's first segment) ends with a particularly intense series of scenes that involve, among other things, an injury resulting in a compound fracture that is recorded from the first person perspective," Barrett told us. In short: A broken bone pokes through a character's skin, which might disturb even the healthiest viewer.
Oooh!  I so looking forward to this movie! I hope it doesn't let me down.

Top 5 Unnecessary Horror Movie Series

In the horror movie world, folks get lazy. They think if millions watch it, they can keep it going and going and going. Well, that is NOT true. Some horror series are better off DEAD.

So, I'm going to call out the 5 horror movie series that should have been DEAD on arrival... Or at least after the 3rd movie.

Child's Play 1-5 - Why was there a Bride of Chucky?

Subspecies 1-5 This was a direct to video Vampire series. Not cute, but effective

Saw 1- Too Many! Kill this Series already!

Leprechaun 1-6 This series was painful to watch

Friday the 13th 1-12 Including the remake and the battle with Freddy

We can also add the series Halloween too

We Will see 'The Cabin in The Woods'

Good news for horror and Joss Whedon fans. His scary movie will be distribute by MGM and finally, hopefully, the world see a high quality HORROR FILM!

Deadline explains the hold-up:
The delay has little to do with the quality of the film. It was once slated to be released by MGM on Oct. 23, 2009, but was pulled back because it was going to be converted to 3D. Then, everything froze at MGM because of the strangling debt load, and The Cabin in the Woods was among several pictures that languished. By the time the picture is released, Thor will have established Hemsworth's star value, which will certainly help a film that also stars Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford.
We are not sure when it will come out, but I think it will be later this year. Oh, and the Norse God hottie Chris Hemsworth is in it.

I Met the Master of Movie Serial Killers... Kane Hodder

I was very lucky the other night. Not only did I got to see Hatchet 2 (this was pulled out of the theaters because it had no rating), but I got to meet Kane Hodder!!

Now to those who don't know him, let me introduce Kane. He has played the major movie killers!
Jason, Michael Myers, Leatherface, Victor Crowley and the B.T.K. killer. He has also acted in many movies over the years.

Here's a sample (NSFW)

And he was such a nice guy too. It was such a great moment.
