In Wichita: Trump Supporter allegedly attacks two Muslim Students

There was a Trump related attack in Wichita. A Trump supporter reportedly attacked on two Wichita State students at a Kwik Shop convenience store

Khondoker Usama and a friend confronted by this cretin, who was yelling racial slurs saying, 'Trump, Trump, Trump' and how Trump will make America great again."

I fear there will be more of these.

Terrorist caught and arrested in the Murders of 9 people in Charleston, South Carolina

In Charleston, South Carolina, 9 people were shot and killed in the historic Emanuel AME Church. The act of terrorism happened last night around 9pm. The killer is Dylann Roof, a 21-year-old While male. He was arrested in Shelby, N.C., after someone saw Dylann's car.

At this time, we do not have a reason for the killings or a motive. We do know that there are over 15 hate groups in the state and the Justice Dept. will conduct a hate crime investigation.

Anti-Gay Attacker at the Dallas Airport will not Face Jail Time

So do you remember the video of the redneck McCleish Christmas Benham attacking a supposed gay guy at the Dallas airport? Well, you know he was taken down by some folks and I think Paul Rudd. He was also arrested.

Now the full report has been released and he's currently charged with public intoxication and simple assault, both class-C misdemeanors each punishable by a maximum $500 fine, but no jail time. However, if the prosecutors choose to apply the Texas’ hate crimes law, they could beef up the assault charge to a class-B misdemeanor, which would be 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine per offense.

Three more people have been gay-bashed since Mark Carson's death.

Dan Contarino was jumped last night at Avenue D and 4th Street. And a gay couple were attacked between Prince and Houston streets early this morning.

NYPD are beefing up patrol in the NY Gayborhoods: the Village, Chelsea and Hell's Kitchen. Fam please, be safe and careful walking the streets. I can't believe this happening in the I love.

In Kentucky: 16-Year-Old Lesbian was Beaten by Group of Men

A teenaged girl was beaten by a group of men. As they were attacking her, they hurled anti-gay slurs.

Brandon White's Attacker claims: ‘I didn’t hit him to the point of killing him’

An update from the Brandon White case. Dorian Moragne, was one of Brandon's attackers. At the hearing, Dorian was the only attacker to speak and he had a lot to say.

“First and foremost I would like to start off with an apology from deep down,” he said. “This attack did not only affect [White] but was also taken as an attack on the gay community.”

Moragne said he could change if given another chance.

“I truly believe that I can become a productive member of society. I am actively pursuing change in my life,” he said. “We made a mistake. I don’t hate nobody. I’ve got gay family.”

But Banks challenged Moragne on the sincerity of his apology and his refusal to admit that he’s a gang member. Moragne nearly derailed his plea agreement during a hearing in May when he balked at admitting to a felony count of solicitation of gang activity.

“I didn’t want to plead guilty to the gang member because I am not a gang member. I plead guilty because I didn’t want to take it to trial. I am not in no gang. I am not a Blood or Crip. I am from Florida,” Moragne said Thursday.

“This ain’t what y’all portraying it to be. This ain’t California. We don’t have a history of beating up gay people. All of this stuff you are putting on the media to say we beat gay people so you can pass a law,” he added.

Moragne continued by attempting to undercut the seriousness of the attack: “I barely hit him. I was wrong for hitting him but I didn’t hit him to the point of killing him. I was just being young and dumb.”

Banks retorted by asking Moragne if he threw a tire on White.

“Next question please,” Moragne retorted.

“Did you throw a tire on him?”

“Yes.”

New Report: 2011 had the Highest Number of Anti-Gay Murders Ever

Are things getting better?

National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs reported some harsh news about anti-gay violence in 2011.

 In 2011, 30 fatally violent hate crimes were committed against lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender victims, 3 more than the previous year's total. At the same time, overall reports of anti-gay hate violence were down last year. But the authors of the report don't think the drop in reports of violence actually reflects a drop in violence. 

The National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs collects its data through 41 member programs across the country who receive calls and reports of LGBT hate crimes in the local communities. The authors of the report said they suspected a link between the rise in murders and the drop in overall reports of violence -- when more murders occur the small centers are overwhelmed and able to conduct less community outreach.

I also learned from this report that many hate crimes are not reported and people of color are big targets.
