Bryan Singer isn't sure whether or not Halle Berry is returning as Storm

Bryan Singer said he wasn't sure if Halle Berry will be in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

MTV had this piece in the post:
Singer said that an appearance from Storm is still up in the air. "I can't say. I don't know yet. And it's not necessarily a deal making aspect at all," he said. "I want to make sure it'll make sense. But I love working with her."
I don't know, gang. Storm was a big part of the original story and even played a part in the cartoon version. Should she be back in this film or not?

READ the casting call of X-Men: Days of Future Past movie

This screen grab of a casting call sheet gives you an idea about X-Men: Days of Future Past movie. This is what they are looking for.

So this will be in 70s, two years before Storm, Wolvie and the others join. Now the big question is, who are on the team during this decade?

Stay tuned.

8 Possible Characters we could see in X-Men: Days of Future Past

The excitement is building for the next X-Men film. We know it's loosely based from the classic tale in the Uncanny X-Men 141-142 issues, and like all X-movies, they will take some liberties.

With that said, there could be some interesting X-universe characters making their big screen debut.

So, here are my picks of characters we could see in the film.

Mark Millar gives us Time Travel and Sentinels in the next X-Men Movie

Mark Millar has been brought in to push Fox's Marvel properties over the edge. Meaning, they are trying to reach Avengers status. Hopefully by making the Fox stuff Whedon-ish, Mark is going to turn X-Men: Days Of Future Past into big deal.

How? Well, by throwing some big elements in the film. In SFX magazine, he talks about what to look for:
"It's X-Men meets The Terminator," he continued.

"You've got robots, you've got time travel, you've got superheroes - it's got everything in one film."
So we will see the Sentinels, a war-torn future, Cable maybe? and a possible clean up the X-Men films.

I'm very curious to see how this will come along

The New X-Men Movie is "Officially" called Days of Future Past

Comic Book Movie reveals not only the title of the X-Men: First Class film, but the fact that it is the first of a new trilogy.
Our Russian comrades over at Stark Industries have obtained information which may have revealed the title of Matthew Vaughn's X-Men followup. Russian News site Film Business Today states that the sequel will be lifted from the pages of Marvel comic books and will be called X-Men: Days of Future Past. Fox envisioned X-Men: First Class as the first film of a new trilogy. Simon Kinberg, who co-wrote X-Men: The Last Stand and co-produced X-Men: First Class, is writing the sequel, along with Vaughn and his longtime collaborator, Jane Goldman. Bryan Singer will return as producer on the film, which is set to begin filming in January 2013, after Jennifer Lawrence has finished shooting The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The sequel for First Class is scheduled for a release on July 18, 2014.
I guess we will hear more as the info continues to leak.

Is 'Days of Future Past' the next X-Men Movie?

20th Century Fox has filed an interesting title with the MPAA for the next X-Men movie... Days of Future Past!

I know, I know! It's one of their most popular stories ever! I'm a tad bit worried about this.

Blastr talks about the discovery:
The studio has filed the title Days of Future Past with the MPAA for an unidentified future project—and as any X-Men fan knows—that's also the title of a popular comic arc from 1981.

The two-issue arc delved into a dark potential future, where mutants are kept locked up in internment camps. Future Kitty Pryde sends her mind back to present-day Kitty Pryde, and the X-Men jump in to help prevent the anti-mutant future.
Is this a way to reboot the entire storyline or will this be an All-New, All-Different X-Men?

Matthew Vaughn is Back to direct a sequel to X-Men: First Class

Well, it's confirmed. There is a sequel to X-Men: First Class and the Matthew is back as the director.

My favorite movie/TV blog, Deadline stated:

Fox has just closed a deal with Matthew Vaughn to come back and direct the sequel to X-Men: First Class, with Simon Kinberg writing the script and Bryan Singer back as producer.
Okay, I can deal with this. However, I want the original team back in the mix; maybe add Lorna/Polaris and Mimic as well. Also, I hope they won't mess the timeline any further. These X-stories are out of control.

Still, I think it will be a decent product. The last movie was good.

FOX confirms X-Men, Daredevil and Fantastic Four Projects

Following their decent success with X-Men: First Class, FOX will press on with a sequel and other Marvel Comics projects. MTV News talks to Fox exec Tom Rothman, who says that it's all happening:
MTV News caught up with Rothman at the Gotham Independent Film Awards, and they spoke about the prospects continuing that series and how its success has changed how the studio approaches superhero movies.

"The reason, in addition to those two guys and Matthew Vaughn, that it was as good as it was that the script was really good," Rothman said. "The key to making a great continuing franchise is to have a great script, so we're working hard on it."

Rothman also commented on a couple other Marvel properties Fox will bring back to the screen, "Daredevil" and "Fantastic Four." In the case of "Daredevil," director David Slade announced this week that the script for the reboot was finally finished. Rothman confirmed before that the project is still with Slade and moving forward.

"'Daredevil' is still with David Slade," Rothman said. "It's in development now. We're working on it and 'Fantastic Four.'"
Well, they better bring it, because the jury is still out on FOX handling these films. We haven't forgot X-Men 3 or the FF and Silver Surfer mess. Plus, Marvel can still take back the X-Men in 2012. So if they don't get it up, it's could be curtains.

10 Reasons Why X-Men First Class didn't Own the Box Office

So the news it out! XMFC didn't make the big bucks as expected. In fact it underperformed, taking only 56 million in the US box office.

But why did this better written Mutant Movie get okay turnout? Well, I have 10 reasons why:
  1. The mixing of past and present characters. When a franchise has 2 horrible films under its belt, the last thing you want to do is screw up the storyline. Well, adding mutants from 2001 (Angel), 1980 (Emma Frost) 1985 (Riptide) and 2008 (Darwin) didn't help. Knowing the X-Universe, there were tons of characters to choose from in that era, like: Mimic, Lucifer, Amelia Voght, Bolivar Trask... Hell, even Tessa/Sage. She was around back then.
  2. Changing the characters' backgrounds. Moira is Scottish not American and Banshee is Irish. That should have been fixed before the movie came out. Again, changing the X-History doesn't work.
  3. Calling it 'First Class' without the original 5 was not a good deal. Also using a mismatched group of mutants wasn't cute either.
  4. The Hellfire Club's plan was far-fetched and almost like a G.I. Joe/Cobra plotline.
  5. The marketing was broke. The first pic of them looked photo-shopped. Then the studio denied it, but later claimed it. Weeks later, more crappy ads came out, causing fans to make their own.
  6. Back to the mutants, the ones they choose to be in the first group were boring and didn't excite anyone.
  7. Trying to make this film for everybody. Some would say that fan-based film doesn't work. But if it's done well, it will sell (ex. Iron Man & Thor).
  8. The fans don't trust 20th Century Fox with any X-Men movies. Yes X3 and Wolverine made money, but it also burned bridges with the fan. Believe it or not, that sh*t comes back.
  9. Too many discrepancies from the other movies. The only true connection is Wolverine.
  10. Too Soon? Maybe they needed to wait until Marvel Studios took the property back or if they had a story people wanted to see. It seems that fans hate the thought of Fox/X-Men marriage and demand a public divorce.
I actually like the movie, but the I can see how the past has a direct effect of the future. Almost Days of Future Past like, right?

My Review: X-Men First Class

Before I begin, I will admit I was wrong. I thought X-Men: First Class would suck, but it actually was very good. There were some minor issues, but in all, it was very good... A strong step in the right direction.

So you know the deal, here comes the vague review of X-Men First Class.
  • They revisited Magneto's origin, giving more insight to his anger.
  • Xavier and Mystique grew up together? Who knew.
  • The Hellfire Club actually fit their comic book image.
  • Why was Riptide a member of the Hellfire Club, he's a Marauder. And Riptide didn't cause whirlwinds, he threw faux ninja stars.
  • Moira Mactaggert and Banshee did NOT have their accents.  Fail!
  • Darwin... I'll just leave that alone.
  • Emma Frost was the bomb! She was thee character right down to the bottom. However, I think the writers didn't know that diamond can cut brass.
  • I didn't like the use of certain mutants from different eras of the X-Men.
  • The story was solid. It felt like I was watching a mutant version 'Inglourious Basterds'.
  • Michael Fassbender is hot.
  • The Hellfire Club's plan was a little far fetched, but kind of something Alan Moore would have made up.
  • Storm's in the movie.
  • We learn that certain X-Men items were made by the US Government, not Xavier.
  • Havok does this weird hula hoop thing to use his powers, it's kinda cute.
  • There were very cool elements of the 60s throughout the film.
  • No Stan Lee.
  • The pacing was great. 2 hours just flew by.
In all it was a very good movie. I'm interested in seeing what the second class will look like.

SPOILER ALERT Guess Who makes a Cameo in X-Men: First Class?

To be honest, this is not a shock but I thought it would be Jean.

But it's.... Well it's, just see below (thx to Bleeding Cool)
Half way through X-Men: First Class, as Professor X and Magneto are travelling the world looking for mutants, they come across Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman, in a bar. Before they can get a sentence out, Wolverine, without looking at them tells them to “Go fuck yourselves.” They leave.

The character’s appearance gets a laugh, his attitude and language gets a double laugh, repeating on itself, through the audience. It’s a superb scene, well played, well staged, well placed. And it’s the only moment such language is used in the entire film. We loved it.
