Queen Latifah and Mary J. Blige join NBC's The Wiz

The NBC live version of The Wiz has added some superstar power to their ranks!

Queen Latifah and Mary J. Blige are the latest stars to join the musical. Queen Latifah will play the The Wiz, and Mary J. Blige will be the Wicked Witch of the West. I think these ladies are going to kill it in these roles. Queen Latifah knows how to work the stage and Mary can really show out.

So, thumbs up on this casting!

NBC cast the original Broadway Dorothy, STEPHANIE MILLS, as Auntie Em in The Wiz!

This is some good news.

So, you might have heard that The Wiz is NBC's next televised musical. I'm going to be watching and I hope some you will be as well, especially since NBC has cast the original Broadway Dorothy, STEPHANIE MILLS, as Auntie Em! The production will air on December 3, with plans to bring it to the Broadway in the 2016-17 season.

I'm in gay heaven right now.

The next NBC Live Music Event could be The Wiz

This could be good or a hot ass mess.

NBC’s entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt has optioned the rights for Music Man and The Wiz, but let's focus on The Wiz. The network could score huge ratings with The Wiz, if done right. I could see this working out if the cast is tight and the set is very creative.

Hopefully, they will choose The Wiz. It would check off the diversity box and NBC needs the diverse viewership. So, they should go with The Wiz.

Are you Ready for WICKED the Movie?

Click your heels three times and get ready for Wicked the movie:
The smash hit stage musical Wicked is taking its first formative steps toward the movie screen. I'm told the musical's producer Marc Platt, book writer Winnie Holzman, and songwriter Stephen Schwartz have begun meeting with filmmakers.

Insiders confirm that JJ Abrams, James Mangold, Ryan Murphy, and Rob Marshall are among the directors who've met or otherwise thrown their hat in the ring. More meetings will take place when the musical's authors come to town in the fall. The film will be made at Universal, which produced the stage musical with Platt.
There's a lot of 'Oz' stuff coming out in the next few years. If we are getting all this crazy stuff, we better get a remake of The Wiz. (I love this trailer, btw)

I knew I was Gay when...

I saw the famous Emerald City scene in The Wiz.

I ran around the living room singing and dancing every time I saw this scene.

The Wiz is coming Back!

My wishes has been answered! The Wiz is returning to the stage!

It's a part of the third New York City Center Encores!

This event starts in June 12 - July 3 at New York City Center. It will be directed by Thomas Kail and choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler, the power team that gave us, In the Heights.

I'm so excited, y'all! My partner and I are going to New York this summer. Hopefully, I will get to see this. I can't tell what this means to me!

He's The Wiz and he lives in OZZZZZZ!
