Tyler Hoechlin Cast as Superman In CW's Supergirl Series

Teen Wolf fans!

Tyler Hoechlin is the new Superman for the CW's Supergirl. He's been a fan favorite for years so I'm sure this will go over well.

Deadline reports
“Greg [Berlanti] and I have wanted to work with Tyler for ages, so this worked out perfectly because Tyler is Superman,” said Andrew Kreisberg, executive producer of Supergirl. “We are so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character.
Congrats, Tyler!

Happy Birthday to Christopher Reeve

When I first saw Christopher as Superman, I was in love. To me, he will always be the Man of Steel.

He would've been 62 today.

Interesting Quote: Dean Cain

The last incarnation of Superman was completely different than anything I did on Lois & Clark. It was kind of devoid of the two things that made our show special, which were humor and romance.

It didn’t have either of those. There was no humor and there was no real romance. I saw the movie they pushed. There’s no romance in there.

I’m sorry

DC Comics Movie News: BATMAN/SUPERMAN 2014 and here's Official logo of the Film

Interesting news.

WB announced BATMAN/SUPERMAN for 2014

As for Batman, Christian Bale isn't planning on coming back.

The next announcement should have been Wonder Woman. Yes, I am bias as Hell, but they should've gone all the way and put Diana first.

More to come

Boom! Artist drops Orson Scott Card's Superman comic

The Orson Scott Card story has hit the ceiling! The artist Chris Sprouse has left the building and now the story won't appear at all in the first collection.

Here's the scoop:
"It took a lot of thought to come to this conclusion, but I've decided to step back as the artist on this story," Sprouse said in a statement released Tuesday. "The media surrounding this story reached the point where it took away from the actual work, and that's something I wasn't comfortable with. My relationship with DC Comics remains as strong as ever and I look forward to my next project with them."
Due to the creative change, the Card story will not appear in the first collected issue out May 29. Instead, it will feature a story by writer Jeff Parker and artist Chris Samnee, as well as a tale by Jeff Lemire and one by writer Justin Jordan and artist Riley Rossmo.
DC is also looking for a replacement illustrator for Card's story.
Yes, this was a victory for us. Folks need to know the power of the geeky gays.

DC Comics Responds to Backlash over hiring Homophobe Orson Scott Card

Things are getting rough for DC Comics.

Once they announced that Orson Scott Card will be writing a Superman comic, gay geeks quickly responded.

From petitions to blog posts, fans let everyone know the hire was not okay. Now DC Comics responds to the backlash:
“As content creators we steadfastly support freedom of expression, however the personal views of individuals associated with DC Comics are just that — personal views — and not those of the company itself.”
They also made clear that the Superman comic will have a host of writers other than Card.

To be honest, the response was whack. They could've stated their stance on LGBT issues and characters. Just something to ensure their support of the community. I guess that was too much to ask.

DC Comics hires Homophobe to write Superman Comic

DC Comics just made a nasty mistake. They have hired anti-gay novelist Orson Scott Card to write two stories in Adventures of Superman. Now, maybe they are not aware about Mr. Card, but if not, here's a few things folks need to know.

  • He used to and maybe still does sit as a board member of NOM begins with a two-part story written by popular.

  • And this fool said this about gay marriage:

“Regardless of law, marriage has only one definition, and any government that attempts to change it is my mortal enemy. I will act to destroy that government and bring it down, so it can be replaced with a government that will respect and support marriage…"
This man is special and not in a good way. DC Comics should have been aware of this man and his views. Yes, you can different opinions, but when those views support discrimination that should be a blood red flag.

Not good, DC Comics.

Henry Cavill chats about the Man of Steel

Henry and director Zack Snyder

The British hunk shared some tidbits about the upcoming Superman film.
“I liked the idea of the realism immediately,” Cavill tells The Post in an exclusive on-set interview. “Traditional Superman fans know what it’s all about, and they will hopefully love and associate with the character anyway. But the people who aren’t die-hard Superman fans still need to associate with the character, and that needs to have some realism in today’s world, certainly, in sense of a science as opposed to mythology attached to it as well.”

On the costume and workouts:
Cavill says of the suit, which takes him 15 to 25 minutes to put on. “And I’m pretty sure it does.”

To fill out the costume, Cavill worked out intensely for two hours each morning, and consumed as many as 5,000 calories a day.

“I have been put through the ringer big time,” Cavill says. “An example of the workouts we’ve been doing, it was 100 front squats of body weight. There are kettle-bell workouts. It’s very hard work.”
The movie will be out next summer.

Clark Kent quits the 'Daily Planet'

In Superman #13, Clark Kent quits the Daily Planet! But why?

EW and Superman writer Scott Lobdell has the scoop:
“Superman is arguably the most powerful person on the planet, but how long can he sit at his desk with someone breathing down his neck and treating him like the least important person in the world?” asks Lobdell rhetorically, and if you listen closely you can hear a chorus of unemployed 27-year-olds answering: “Wait, so he’s quitting in an era of mass unemployment because his boss doesn’t validate him often enough?” Kent will be joined in his exodus from print journalism by Cat Grant, blonde entertainment reporter and perpetual sixth place finisher in the neverending contest to win Clark Kent’s affections (after Lois Lane, Lana Lang, Wonder Woman, Lori Lemaris, and Lyla Lerrol.)

Part of Kent’s speech involves an emotional exhortation to his Planet colleagues to stand up for Truth, Justice, and “and yeah — I’m not ashamed to say it — the American way.” Lobdell explains that Kent won’t seek employment at another media conglomerate; instead, “He is more likely to start the next Huffington Post or the next Drudge Report,” which I guess means he’s going to found a website called something like “The Kent Review” — built on aggregation, exactly as H.L. Mencken would have wanted.
Clark, hire me when you restart/
