Daily Beast reports that Fox News secretly settled a sexual harassment lawsuit against Bill O'Reilly.
Here's more
The allegations arose in the wake of multiple claims about similar behavior on the part of former Fox News chairman Roger Ailes, who has since been ousted. O'Reilly allegedly pursued a sexual relationship with Juliet Huddy, a former employee, in 2011. At the time, he reportedly exerted influence over her career, and he retaliated against her when she rebuffed his advances. The New York Times reportedly obtained a draft of a letter from her lawyers related to the case. According to the document, on specific occasions, he apparently called her while masturbating. Huddy was allegedly paid a high sum in exchange for her silence. O'Reilly and the company both denied her claims. This isn’t the first time O’Reilly has been involved in a sexual-harassment suit with fellow employees. In 2004, one of his producers, Andrea Mackris, sued him, alleging he made unwanted sexual advances and lewd comments over the phone and during dinner meetings. The firebrand host eventually settled for millions of dollars, according to reports.
