Stan Lee said there's a Black Panther film in the Works

io9 brought up an exciting bit of info!

At the Fan Expo Canada, Stan Lee was talking about the next wave of Marvel films. During that interview, he said:
We haven't made a Black Widow movie but she's been in some of our movies, and she will be featured more prominently as we move forward. And the chances are she will have her own movie because eventually all the superheroes are going to have their own movies. They are already working on Ant-Man, Dr. Strange and the Black Panther and there are others I am not allowed to talk about.
They are already working on a Black Panther film? Please don't play with my emotions... A Black Panther film in the works?

I need more info on this.

I was checking up on my former dream baby's daddy Twitter page and saw this:

Now it could be nothing, but it could be something. Like, maybe there is a BP movie in the works?

I'll keep y'all posted.

10 Reasons why it's time for a Black Panther Movie

Yes, it's time for a Black Panther movie and I think Marvel should really get on this. Black Panther is a Marvel Comics staple. He's been in the game for years and folks need to know why he is a hero worthy of his own movie trilogy.

So, I came up with 10 reasons why T'Challa deserves big screen love:
  1. Black Panther has been in the comic game for over 50 years.
  2. T'Challa comes from a fascinating background. He is from Wakanda, a fictional African nation. This nation was not only full of mythical history, but it's the (Marvel) world's most technologically advanced nations.
  3. Black Panther was the first Black superhero in mainstream comics.
  4. He has had a pivotal role in the Marvel Universe. T'Challa has been a member of the Avengers, Fantastic Four and the Defenders. He has also taken on the role of Daredevil for a time. His brains and leadership has been imperative throughout Marvel's history. And did you know he's a Scientist and a Doctor?
  5. He is a f**king King of a nation.
  6. T'Challa has a strong supporting cast of allies and villains. From Storm to M'Baku the Man-Ape, there are plenty of characters that could assist in solid stories for the movies.
  7. And speaking of stories, Black Panther has a vast amount of stories to tell. As King of Wakanda or his adventures in America, there are plenty ideas to draw from.
  8.  Marvel Studios would set a strong precedent for lead characters of color in films.
  9.  T'Challa is an amazing character.
  10. We need a Black superhero. We know it will work, look at the Blade series. Black Panther could be a spark that sets off a new trend of Comic Book movies featuring heroes of color.
If you have any more reasons, please share.

Lil Romeo can NOT play The Black Panther

We've heard a lot about a possible Black Panther film coming from Marvel. Of course I'm excited, but most of that great feeling died, once I read that Lil Romeo was approached for the role.

According to BlackFilm.com, Romeo Miller said this about the BP role:

I would love to. I remember that before ‘Jumping the Broom’ got released, there were some producers were talking about shopping the script to some people and I was one of the people they contacted and was asked if it was something I would be interested in. You never know. I definitely want to take in and be the next big action hero. That may be something that’s cool.
I'm sorry, Romeo, but NO, NO, NO. I'm assuming this idea was from some poo putt studio or he was approached to play another role, but not the Black Panther.

The movie would tank!

Romeo acts, but he doesn't have the acting chops to pull this off. I hope Marvel Studios are not serious considering him for T'Challa. If they are, then this movie is doomed. Get a seasoned actor please. The King of Wakanda deserves better.

Hot Rumor! Black Panther film in the Works?

Rumors about a Black Panther film are hitting the geek blogs like fire on gasoline.

Here's the scoop:
According to multiple sources, Black Panther will be the next Marvel hero to get a standalone movie. And we have to say, it's a pretty ballsy move. The character is certainly lesser known than some of the other options Marvel has at their disposal, but it's one they've been hinting at for a while.

As savvy, Easter Egg-hunting fans know, as far back as "Iron Man 2," the seeds were planted with the the fictional African nation of Wakanda first glimpsed on one of Tony Stark's computer screens. And as comic fans also know, vibranium, the material that is used to make Captain America's shield, is also found in Wakanda. Finally, Black Panther is perhaps best known as part of "The Avengers," and when that inevitable sequel arrives, will they be bulking up the team with one more character?
This could be good and promising! I will keep you posted.
