So, how does Ben Affleck sound as Batman

Some of us are curious about how Ben Affleck will sound as Batman. Christian Bale's voice was 'interesting' so the bar is very low. Honestly, I'm worried, but his wife Jennifer Garner is giving me some good vibes.

In an interview in Empire Magazine, she said that his voice is sexy:
"We were not privy to the Batman voice at home, but I've been on set enough to hear bits of it. It's spot on. Growly and decisive and sexy, if I do say so myself! Exactly what you would hope it to be!"
I'm happy to hear that.

Ben Affleck talks about Batman to Playboy Magazine

Ben Affleck shared a lot about his role as Batman with Playboy magazine.

First they warned him:
"Warner Bros. told me, 'You should know what you’re getting into.' They showed me the reactions to other folks who had been cast in these roles. They said this is how it tends to play out initially. When they asked if I would be Batman, I told them I don’t see myself in the role and I was going to have to beg off. They said I’d fit well into how they were going to approach the character and asked me to look at what the writer-director, Zack Snyder, was doing. The stuff was incredible."

Why he suited up:
"It was a unique take on Batman that was still consistent with the mythology. It made me excited. All of a sudden I had a reading of the character. When people see it, it will make more sense than it does now or even than it did to me initially. I don’t want to give away too much, but the idea for the new Batman is to redefine him in a way that doesn’t compete with the Bale and Chris Nolan Batman but still exists within the Batman canon. It will be an older and wiser version, particularly as he relates to Henry Cavill’s Superman character."

To the haters:
"I understand I’m at a disadvantage with the internet. If I thought the result would be another Daredevil, I’d be out there picketing myself. [laughs] Why would I make the movie if I didn’t think it was going to be good and that I can be good in it? The only movie I actually regret is Daredevil. It just kills me. I love that story, that character, and the fact that it got [frick]ed up the way it did stays with me. Maybe that’s part of the motivation to do Batman."

Henry Cavill talks about Ben Affleck in Batman vs Superman

Total Film sat down with Henry to chat about Ben Affleck's role in the upcoming Batman vs Superman film.

Henry said:
“I'm sure he'll (Ben) be fantastic above all else! And as a filmmaker, he's got his own style, you know. He's not copying anyone else. And he's also sort of being tenacious in his career. He's had ups followed by downs, and now he's very up again. I think that requires and shows a very special strength of character. And it's something which I enjoy working with because jobs like this require strength of character. They require a dedication to the work and belief in oneself, and Ben has that, clearly.”

Interesting Quotes: Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara

"Ben Affleck’s Batman will be tired and weary and seasoned and been doing it for awhile."

“We think it’s the perfect springboard for Batman and Superman. Ben is perfect for the vision Zack has for that character. The fact that you saw such a passionate response in the blogosphere is really kind of a testament to the love that people have for this character.”

Is this Ben Affleck/Batman Concept Art Real? Let's Journey into the Mystery about this

This is very interesting news. I don't know if I can put this in the rumor bend or somewhat true box, but here it goes.

Bleeding Cool said this pic below popped up on a Facebook page called Comic Art House. I wouldn't care about this normally, but the artist is Steve Scott. Now, who is Steve Scott? He is artist responsible for the Dark Knight comic book adaptation in 2008 (which was approved by Christopher Nolan).

According to BC, this pic was up and Steve said, 'Wrong One' and then, it was gone. Why was it removed? There could be a number or reasons: Bad timing, no approval, too early, a marketing trick, hype or a working image?

Who knows, but it caught my eye. Again, I wouldn't care, but this piece of art comes from someone who's worked with Nolan before. I guess we will be speculating and spreading rumors.

10 Reasons why Ben Affleck is a Great Choice for Batman

Where did all this Ben Affleck hate come from? Folks are lashing out about him being Batman, but seriously... What's the problem?

I think he's a great choice and possibly a strong pick for the character. In fact, I have about 10 reasons why I think he would make a great Bats.

  1. Ben is a pretty good actor. He has played many roles and a diverse amount of characters. I think he knows what he's doing.
  2. Ben is a critically acclaimed director. His skills can help bring Bats to a full tilt. I mean, this man has directed award winning films! Those skills accompanied with his acting could possibly give us a very interesting character to watch.
  3. Ben has the look. He has gotten better with age and he has that brooding thing going on.
  4. Ben understands comic books. He knows the character, he knows the comic book world.
  5. Ben is passionate about the role. Remember when there were talks about him directing Justice League? Well, I'm sure it was those meetings that opened the door to him getting this role.
  6. Ben can bring in other directors and producers. Ben has worked with the best and could bring in some of his friends like Kevin Smith and other directors to make this movie great.
  7. Ben has street cred. You can bring up Gigli and JLo, but he has earned his badges. He is respected and will give the film some much needed weight.
  8. Man of Steel wasn't great, therefore, Ben could strengthen the sequel.
  9. Ben can bring out the best in Henry Cavill. Again, Ben's producer and director skills can push Henry to be a better and stronger actor.
  10. Ben has star power. Like it or not, Ben can bring in the crowds. He's still in the game and has proven to be a big player in Hollywood. So don't be fooled by the rocks that he got, Ben is no joke.
If you remember, folks wasn't sold on Michael Keaton or Christian Bale as Batman. However, they thought George Clooney would be the perfect one. And folks didn't want Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, but it worked and worked well.

I will reserve the hateration until I see the film, however, I have faith in Ben.

Ben Affleck is the new Batman in the Superman/Batman Film

This is fresh and very interesting.

According to Bleeding Cool, Ben is the new Bats
Ending weeks of speculation, Ben Affleck has been set to star as Batman, a.k.a. Bruce Wayne. Affleck and filmmaker Zack Snyder will create an entirely new incarnation of the character in Snyder’s as-yet-untitled project—bringing Batman and Superman together for the first time on the big screen and continuing the director’s vision of their universe, which he established in “Man of Steel.” The announcement was made today by Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, and Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.
The studio has slated the film to open worldwide on July 17, 2015.

Interesting Quote: Ben Affleck

“I'm not working on the Justice League. One of the problems with entertainment web sites is that they need to fill pages, and that's how rumours get started. Justice League sounds really exciting, but it's not something I'm working on.”
It's official, Ben isn't doing the JL movie.

Warner Bros. is Reportedly Seeking Ben Affleck to Direct "Justice League"

Interesting comic news. WB is trying to make some sense in their DC Comics interest. Looks like they are courting Ben to handle the Super Friends.
Today, that prospect took an interesting turn as Variety reports actor/director Ben Affleck tops the studio's list of potential helmers for the "Justice League" project. The already bankable star has been on a widely praised run behind the camera in recent years making hits out of "Gone Baby Gone" and "The Town," and he's soon to open "Argo" -- a spy story inspired by true events that features unlikely side player Jack Kirby.
Can he do it? I guess we will find out as the months roll out, but it would be interesting to see his take of the DC heroes.
