Potty Monkey

Lately we have been finding Kai teaching the monkey how to do all sorts of things- brush his teeth, ride on toys, walk down the stairs, and our all time favorite- sit on the potty. Maybe if the monkey learns then he will teach Kai. For what it's worth we aren't doing any training- he just likes exploring the bathroom so we thought we would encourage him by giving him his own seat. :)

I'm So Glad.....

A Great Ending to the Week

Last Thursday night Amy Boyack invited me to go the the first round of the Women's NCAA Gymnastics Finals with her. Amy is so sweet so it was great to get to hang out with her at such a fun event. I appreciate how much she also enjoys gymnastics. Then on Friday Lance scored tickets to the Super 6 Team Finals from his work. So we all got to go and watch Utah finish 2nd in the NCAA's. Kai loved it! We were in the 12th row so he could really see everything. He kept turning around and pointing stuff out at us. The meet lasted about 3 hours and we never even had to get up and walk around with him. For those who know our always on the move Kai this is really something. It was really a ton of fun and so extra neat because it all took place in our backyard. We love living near a University.

Blog Bouncing

This whole blog world is a pretty interesting thing for our generation. In many ways it can be like reading a persons life journal. I find this especially connecting for people that you might otherwise lose contact with or don't touch base with on a regular basis. Another interesting aspect of this is the way they can connect you daily with people that you've never even met. Yes, I will admit that I am a bit of a stranger blog bouncer. This sounds a little scary, but I know I'm not the only one.

This all comes to mind because through random blog bouncing, I have started to follow the daily stories of a Mom in New York. I first saw her on a tv show called Runway Mom's- TLC and Discovery Health are two of my favorite tv channels. She particularly caught my attention because on the show she shared that in addition to being a younger mom of 2, model, actress, singer, etc., she was also LDS and just generally seemed to be a pretty fun person. Anyway, she has a blog that she updates almost daily and it has been really interesting to follow her really funny stories about castings, things her kids do, living in NY city etc. I have also been flipping through magazines like People and seen her in ads for stuff like baby items, laundry detergent etc. which is pretty cool after reading her blog.

So anyway...........she is now a finalist for the Real Savy Moms TV Host Contest. I do think she would be great- so here I am encouraging anyone who is interested to cast a vote for her. All you have to do is go to the Real Savy Moms website and click on Kristy Glass. So now that is my attempt at a good deed for a stranger moment of the day. Sad I know. :)

Bubble Machine

Due to the better weather today Kai finally got to try out his new bubble machine that he got with his Easter money. Big thanks to Great Grandma and Grandpa Michael.

I love this picture because of Kai's expression. I imagine him saying "Ok Dad, here is what we need to do":

Checking It Off

I am a check-list person. Always have been and probably always will be. I love making a list of to do's and then marking them off. I will even put stuff on a day's list that I have already done so that I can make that check. Sad but true.

So, this last week has been full of lots of checks which thus makes me happy. Thanks to the encouragement of some birthday money. gift cards from my parents, Lance's parents, and my grandparents (THANK YOU, THANK YOU) I was finally able to get organized and make some purchases I have been slow on for quite awhile. So happily we now have real dining table chairs, a DVD player that might actually make it through a whole movie, a crock pot with a cool timer, warming setting, and 2 (yes 2) working handles, and an organzier for my closet (I think I've posted about how I love an organized closet before). In addition I also got our family photo album updated to last Christmas which is one of those projects that has been looming over me for awhile.

In other news we had playgroup at our house on Wednesday. The kids are 1 month older, 1 1/2 weeks older, and 3 weeks younger than Kai. They are so super cute and funny to watch. One of the Mom's is also the groups new nursery leader at Church so that has been good too. I didn't have my camera, but one of the other Mom's did, so if I get it from her I'll post it.

The weather this week started super nice, then we had SNOW, and right now it is sunny and nice again. This makes dressing Kai more of a challenge as I'm never quite sure if he is going to freeze of fry. After all the nice weather a few weeks ago he now thinks that playing outside should happen all day, so trying to explain to him that it was too cold on the snow day didn't go over so well.

Tulips and Trains

When the Mullins were in town for Easter we headed up to Heber with them and the gradparents to the train restaraunt. It was an especially nice outing since Kai and I were missing Lance who was out of town on a business trip . As far as Kai is concerned this could be the greatest restaraunt ever due to the fact that there are trains everywhere. Here are Kai, Emme, and Jake on the train outside.

Kai and I came home from San Diego to find Spring flowers. If only they lasted a bit longer. Guess it is time to get going on our yard work.

Happy Easter!

We had a nice Easter Sunday and hope you did as well. Kai searched for hidden plastic eggs in our house in the morning. He had already practiced this at my parents last week and really thinks this clean-up like activity is great. He continues to be more interested in the actual eggs than anything that might be inside. After Church we went to Lance's parents for dinner and birthday cake for me. Everyone on Lance's side was there (even brand new baby Jack made an appearance). So with 5 under the age of 4 it was quite exciting. Happy Easter to all!

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Daddy and me would like to say Happy Birthday to the greatest mommy in the world. Daddy took us to this funny restaurant called Pee Wee or something, then took us to the Sugarhouse park playground - mommy's idea of a good time is the same as mine!

Welcome Baby Jack!

On the way home from the airport we got to meet the newest member of the family. He is super cute and Kimberley, Tyler, and big sister Kennedy looked great as well. How exciting! Kai is happy to finally have someone he is older than in the family.

A Few More of My Favorites

Kai and I had a wonderful trip. Big thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for such a great time. Kai slept the whole flight back so it was a snap. Here are a few last photos:
