So Far this December. . .

It's only the 12th and I feel like it should be Christmas already, not that I'm ready my any means.  It has just been so busy already.  Probably because we live so close to BYU that we have to do our Christmas stuff early in order for the students to be able to enjoy so Christmas traditions with their ward before they head off to see their families.  Regardless, it's been nuts.  The 1st weekend of Dec. was the annual BYU family Christmas party.  I can't believe this might be our last year we might go. Notice how everyone is wearing blue to support BYU except Micah.  What have we done to make him think supporting the Utes is ok?
Malia has this weird obsession with making "crazy eyes."  Everyone decided to try and join in.
Notice Micah's list.  He wants an Elf so that he can have him make Micah toys all year.  Where does he come up with this stuff?
After the party we went and got ourselves a tree.  We had to wait about 4 hours to put it up though cuz Randy had a huge paper due, so we had to wait for him to finish.

Then this weekend was our ward's Christmas party.  They decided to be a little different and go Hawaiian.  It was catered by a family in our stake from Hawaii and we even had some Polynesian dances to enjoy.

Even Santa came dressed for the event with his shorts and lei's.  Micah asked for a robot to do his homework this time. He cracks me up.
Malia letting know Santa she's 4.
Morgan had a grass skirt on but kept stepping on it (since it was really mine) so she gave it up.
Oh and another exciting thing that happened already this month is . . . Malia cut her hair.  In my 11+ years of being a mom, I have been very lucky to not have a child cut their hair.  Malia said that she didn't like it in her eyes anymore.  When she realized what she did, she started crying immediately.  We couldn't figure out why for another 5 minutes.  She looked natural with bangs, until you looked more closely at the side.Malia has always been my button pusher.  Here she goes again.  My friend Brookie cut it and blended it in, but it is still driving me crazy, so I'm going to take her back and have her butch it.
Here's the clump of hair McKenzie found in her room.
Next up. . .Christmas.  Hopefully we'll be ready.

More Locks of Love

I gave in.  Malia has been bugging me for a couple of months to cut her hair like Kenzie's.  I didn't want to because it was so close to donating it that I figured it wouldn't be that much longer.  Well 2 months later, it really wasn't completely long enough, but good enough for us.  Morgan's hair was long enough so we just did both of them at the same time.  Since our hair cutter was suppose to be getting induced on Thursday we decided we better get it done fast.  Good thing we did, because that night, she went into labor and had the baby the next morning.  (I think he just new that the girls really needed their hair cut and wanted to wait, lol).  Anyway, I forgot my camera for Eah but Brookie saved the day and let me borrow hers.
The longest pieces were I tiny bit over 10 inches, we figured it was better than nothing.
She got a cute A-line like Kenz.  I just let it  air dry so it's not very cute right now, but you get the idea.
Morg got hers done after school.
I can't believe she let it get this long.  She actually didn't really want it cut till about 2 days ago when I had to brush out some nasty knots.
This shoot looks like a pic I took of her when she was 3.  I couldn't believe it.
Again, not "done" but you get the idea.  She was able to go a little longer than Eah, which is good because we start soccer today, so I can pull it back a little bit.
This shot makes me laugh,  just as I pushed the button Addison looked away from the camera, and I didn't realize Malia's look till I downloaded it.  These 2 have to make sure they know what the other is doing at all times. Thanx again Brookie.  You are awesome.  We'll stay out of your hair for a while, literally.

Crazy Hair

It was Red Ribbon week last week and last Friday was Crazy Hair Day.  One of the things McKenzie really wanted to do was cut her hair before Crazy hair day so that it made it even crazier.  I actually wanted to try and make an attempt at crazy hair, so I went to the party store and bought every color of colored hairspray, cuz I never have it when I need it, and let the kids choose what they did.  Mac wanted  kind of a Shrek thing going on, only with 3 ear instead of 2.

I'm not creative enough yet with hair, so I tried so weird twisting pony tail things with Morgie and sprayed it Cougar white and blue.

Micah liked the Cougar theme so we striped him up.
And we got one more day of nice walking to school in and got a crazy hair shot of everyone.  Man, I'm ready for spring to come back already.  I wasn't finished doing my outside walking.

I can't handle it anymore!!!!! (& cute hair)

I'm finished with sick kids. I thought that with this last ear infection that Malia had and Morgan now has we would have a break from illnesses. So much for that. So Malia had her 9 month check a couple days after she turned 9 mo, she had 4 immunization shots and right after that she started to get a new cold. She had this for about a week (just a dripping nose) and then Thursday night she vomitted in her bed (Poor Kristi was sleeping in her room and heard it all and came to get me up). She barffed her the contents of her stomach up and then dry-heaved for the next 8 or so hours. In between puking though she was happy and playing and having fun still. We fed her a little that evening cuz she went for a few hours without a hitch but then she upchucked in her bed again that night. Saturday she was miserable, lethargic and a had fever. So I took her in to the doctor and they ruled out and ear infeciton and thought that it could be a UTI because at the time she didn't have diahrea. So she had to get a cathedar to get some urine out (not a pleasant experience for anyone). That was ruled out and and so the doctor just said she had a gastro bug and we had to get her hydrated. (she wasn't dehydrated yet but she was heading that way with some of her symptoms). So we had to seriously syringe feed her pedialyte all day to trick her stomach into thinking there was nothing there. She was soo hungry at this point though and I felt so bad not giving her anything, but she would just throw-up everyhthing else. This morning she was still acting the same, I had a meeting to attend this morning and when I got back she was crawling and drank part of a pedilyte bottle. She was even doing well enough to try some saltines. It stinks seeing her like this. All she wants to do is be held when she is awake, she had been sleeping a lot though which is nice. So I am home from church, blogging instead, ya gotta love it.

This is my cute sister-in-law, Kristi. The pink shirt is her before picture with long hair, I helped convince her while she was here to chop it off and try something new. Don'tcha love it? I think it is sooo cute on her. Buffy, the girl who did my, and my girls' hair did Kristi's to. She was having fun with it right before they headed out to drive home to Oregon. She kept flipping it back and forth, not being use to the fact that it moves so easily, it was cute. My kids sure miss having her around.

Yeah for the Last Day of School!!! (oh and haircuts)

Hooray for the last day!!! My girls had a great year, and I'm sad to see it end (they aren't for sure). McKeznie's teacher Mrs. Smith actually knows Randy's cousin Deveney, they went to BYU-Idaho together. She is a great teacher and will be missed (her hubby graduated and they are moving.

Morgan's teacher, Miss Lynn is amazing. I wasn't sure if I would put her in Kindergarten next fall because she is so young, but after this year she is definitely ready. Miss Lynn and Miss Lindsay (her aide) put together a little program of a few of the dances they learned this year. they were pretty cute. Sorry about the chicken dance, I didn't realize that the camera couldn't be upright. (it doesn't last very long though).

This will be a long summer I think. Randy's schedule gets pretty hectic right after my brother gets married and we won't see him a whole lot, so we aren't planning on going anywhere except when my family comes down to help me caravan to Cali. Just lots of playing at the park and swimming lessons. I can't wait until we can actually plan family vacations again.

I forgot to mention the hair. So I loved my ward back in Vancouver, it was just awesome. The RS would have a service auction every year and I thought this is a great activity for the women to get to know each other, because usually you buy things from people you may not know very well. So last Tuesday was our 1st service auction and I had a blast. We had a best auctioneer who really got everyone really excited about it. I ended up winning a free babysitting and a haircut for myself. I have been needing a haircut for a while now because Malia keeps pulling my hair and thinks it's funny. So I chopped it (I'm sure I will get a pic uploaded eventually of me). I used the same girl, Buffy to cut the girls hair also, I let them grow it out in the winter and then we get a "summer cut" (sounds like they are little dog's or something), but they turned out really cute. They are really short in the back like wedge or stacked, whatever you wanna call it, and then an "A-line," so it little longer in the front. It's hard to tell in these shots but they are really cute.

My mother's day

My mother's day was pretty good, considering the lack of sleep I have had the last two weeks dealing with yet another failed attempt at antibiotics to clear up an ear infection. We went in last Friday to find that augmenten didn't work and so we gave Malia a shot that started with an "r" to clear it up, only she is still in pain and screaming in the middle of the night, lucky me. I slept on the couch starting at 3 this morning cuz I was soo tired and couldn't handle it anymore. The doctor said her ear looks a lot better today but it may take a while before she's 100%. Anyway, back to Mother's day. After my girls seeing some of our friends kids have curly hair this week (they braided it the night before) the girls wanted to do it to, and since I don't know where I put my little kid curlers, after baths on Saturday night I braided their hair.

This is what their hair looked like Sunday for church. To me it looks more like an 80's do, just very poofy. I let them keep it in one more day so they could have it curly for school and then I couldn't take it anymore and they got shower's tonight. Am I the meanest or what?

So in the morning about 7 ish the girls came running in my room where I was attempting to sleep and couldn't wait to give me their gifts. They had gone to a primary activity on Saturday and the primary presidency had taken their pictures and put them on tiles with modge podge. They are sooo cute. My neighbor Mindy who is in the presidency has a few extra tiles and she is the one who took the pics and said that she could take Micah and Malia's pictures in the same place. I am going to attempt to make some kind of wall hanging, I'll post pics when I get it done. (thanks Mindy) They also decorated cookies and gift bags for me. Oh soo cute. Then in primary, Morgan's teacher (the coolest person ever Trisha) that them make hand bouquets and put them in little vases filled with jelly beans and the hand prints poem, oh soo cute. Randy got me a food processor, I've been wanting one for a long time so now I want to get the book about how to hide veggies in your meals. (my kids eat their veggies really good, but I figure it can't hurt to add a few more). Theses pics are a card McKenzie made for me at school. I thought it was really cute especially what she wrote inside.

Just in case you can't read it, it says, "Dear Mom, mom I really really really really really love you. If you go on a cruise I am going to be sad. but I will see you, Happy Mother's day." I laughed sooooooo hard. Randy wants to go away somewhere when he graduates and we are planning on going by ourselves and having his parents come and watch the kids. It won't be for a long time but as you can see she is already getting worried about it. How cute is she.

Randy and the girls then made me breakfast in bed (an omelet yummy) and then made steak and artichokes for dinner. My favorite. He's getting really good at grilling, makes me happy. We then had the ice cream cake I made (it's really evil). I unfortunately didn't get a nap only because we have 1 pm church which I hate. Also it's during Malia's nap time and since she was already exhausted from dealing with her ear infection, let's just say, Church + Malia's ear infection = no on gets to listen. All in all though it was a great day and am grateful that I am a mom and get to raise my kids and hope I don't screw it up too badly. So to all you mother's out there. Hope your day was wonderful and I hope you understand how important mother's are. (yes mom that means you to, I love you)
