Gone are the days of waking up and reaching for my glasses in the morning. I still do it sometimes out of habit, but these old lenses are now obsolete. They will be making their way to Thailand (by way of an Eagle Scout project) for others to use.
My contact lenses and solution no longer take up space in my bathroom drawer. They were nice while they lasted. But come allergy season, they were sandpaper on my eyeballs. Pure torture.
I finally bit the bullet and had LASIK done about a month ago. It was the best surgery I've ever had...hands-down. And I couldn't be happier with the results. In fact, I went to a followup appointment and learned that my vision is even better than 20/20. Amazing. Life-changing.
Farewell to you, eyewear.

I'm planning on having lazer eye surgery done this year too. It's sounds like yours was a total success, hopefully mine will be too.
after your success, i'm praying i can be a candidate! seriously so awesome.
I love how you've kept all these pairs of glasses! I remember some of them. Yay for your new eyes! Jealous--who, me? You bet!!!
I never took you for a 'saver' Bridge!
So glad this worked out for you. What a blessing!
Yay! Couldn't imagine having to reach for glasses in order to see. Glad you don't need to do that anymore :D
I have been wearing contact lenses for over 6 years, and glasses for over 15. Now, they've asked me to go off contacts because they found some infiltrates in my eyes. Scared of the long-term consequences, I am seriously thinking about a LASIK. I mean, you get to pick your poison.
BTW, I HAAAAATE glasses!
