Color Palette: Yellow, red, & grey

This picture caught my eye with it's simple use of primary colors merging so well. I made this color palette with that soft sage green from the vase but I coud've just as easily swapped it for that kelly green from the book. I love them both! I don't usually love yellow and red together but this is proof that if done right, those colors together can really brighten a room. I really like how the soft grey and dark navy blue provide the right contrast. Also, I don't know why I didn't collect those ikat bowls from Anthro.

Color Palette: Sweet Pastels

I'm insanely drawn to sweet pastel palettes like this one! I usually make my own but I had to pass along this one I found via Pinterest from The Sweetest Occasion. It reminds me of the upcoming Spring and all the pretty things it brings with it as well as all the things I'm hoping for. Things I hope will blossom into lovely events, great changes and fond memories. It's such a refreshing mix of colors isn't it? What do you most anticipate about Spring?

Color Palette: Eclectic Hollywood Regency- Indigo, Mint & Garnet

I love Hollywood regency and the golden age of Hollywood in general so when I cam e across this picture (I don't have a source to credit, if you know it please let me know) I fell in love with the color palette. The colors are so unique to the style, it's a bit feminine with a modern edge. I didn't include that lovely pink in the palette but it's definitely crucial to this room. There's something about mint that I find calming and neutral enough to mix with other things in a room. I love the way the bold black and white zig-zag area rug ties in the room. Color Palette: Anthro-inspired Grey, Coral & Mustard

Image via Anthro

How lovely is this ruffled/scalloped comforter? It also comes in a great marigold color. I'm loving mustard at the moment and pairing it with grey and coral makes it that much better. I'm seeking out my favorite color palette for when we finally move and I get to decorate a new place. This one I would say is in the top 5.

Have a great weekend!

Defining Decor: Erin Fetherston's NY Apartment

Via | Vogue
“I see it as a reflection of my creative universe, It’s romantic and chic, but clean and modern," says fashion designer Erin Fetherston about her Tribeca apartment that overlooks the Hudson River. It has an undeniable old-world charm with personal touches that add a whimsical eclectic feel to her spacious yet cozy home.
I love her home style, it's effortlessly  chic in a down-to-earth way. Understated elegance could describe it. After living in France for 5 years she was able to capture the European style she loved so much by shipping over her antique furniture once she moved to the States. The subtle blue color of the walls in her living area bring a welcoming and calming sense to the space don't you think? Those antique nesting tables are gorgeous! The clean simplicity of her bedroom and office space speak volumes for "less is more".

 Chinoiserie  touches like the lamps and silk screen in the bedroom add refined grace and sophistication in an otherwise plain room. Meanwhile, there's a structured kind of mess to her closet and dressing table. Venetian mirrors and fresh flowers on a vanity are a weakness for me.  I appreciate the mixture of textures and details within her home, the small details capture personality and add to the ambiance. Color Palette: Bubblegum+Tangerine

I love all the pastels for the season but like the contrast when paired with bold colors. This fire-y tangerine with pastel bubblegum combo has been on my mind lately, I just love the combination.  It's bold and light. This color palette is all around flattering for the home, wardrobe and even beauty. Pair a bold tangerine lip with a soft pink blush for a sweet Summer beauty look. A soft pink cardigan flatters a coral skirt or shorts. And if you're looking for a bold new color of paint for an accent wall, this shade of orange with pink accents would be perfect.

Color Palette: Rainbow Confetti

{Image via SMP| Rue}

This party shoot looks like a blast! It's all about having some colorful, glittery, girly fun. Don't you wish every day was a celebration? I figure if I work some more bright colors and glittery pieces in my wardrobe it'll add instant sunshine to my day...That, and some fun makeup of course. Nothing chases away the dull, stuck-in-a-rut, blahs like brightly painted lips, flirty lashes and a shiny mani!
Have a fun weekend!

Color Palette: French Pastry Themed Nursery

 I designed this color palette for my dear friend Sydney who is pregnant and planning to style her nursery themed after French pastries. Delicious idea, I know! Lucky girl got to study abroad in France, so she's tasted first-hand all the treats that serve as her inspiration.  I couldn't help but base it off of this pretty watercolor that I had in my Tumblr archive, and that she also had picked out. Can't wait to see the end result!

{Oh, so cute: Summer Pastels}

I'm loving all of the vibrant pastel colors for nail lacquer and makeup this summer.  I have a weakness for anything inspired by candy and pastries.  Just purchased Re-Fresh Mint from China Glaze's Summer collection Up & Away {I'm seriously in love with all the colors in this collection} I love the creamy mint color. Also check out, Orly's Sweet Collection complete with mini matching lip gloss.

{Not-So-Mellow Yellow}

1-5: {Design Is Mine} 6: {Stemellina on Etsy} 7-8: Unknown

I'm not really a yellow loving person but lately I have to say that I've been eyeing it. I love it, whether it's bright sunshine yellow, a warm shade of mustard, or an inviting marigold. It's Oh, so charming!
