Gnome Lucky

There's a new Challenge up at Just Us Girls where it is the 5th Thursday of the month, which means it is CASE a Design Team Member Week. Carol McFarland is our lovely host. Choose one of our Design Team cards and make it your own based on whatever you choose: the colors, elements, theme, style, etc. In your post, be sure to explain whose card you are CASEing and what you did to create your own version. We love to see what you come up with during CASE a DT week. The Design Team has created some fabulous inspiration with lots of theme, color and other varied elements for you to choose from.

I am still in St. Paddy's Day card making mode. For this one, I dug out my SSS Gnome Lucky set that I bought last year and did not use. I stamped and colored it, popped it up on a scrap of patterned paper, added sone accent stamps and a heat embossed the sentiment and my card was complete.

Please head on over to the Just Us Girls Challenge Blog and check out the wonderful inspiration the Design Team came up with. Choose a card that inspires you and craft with us! I can't wait to check out the gallery to see what you have created!

I Like The Way You Roll

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. This time we are challenged to be COLORFUL! How fun is that?? There are a gazillion different directions you can go I with this one!

We are generously sponsored by Lawn Fawn. Winner will receive a $25.00 gift voucher to spend at the Lawn Fawn Store.

Our Guest Designer is Fran Wing of FranMadeInOregon. Fran is a wonderfully talented paper crafter. Treat yourself to a visit to her blog. You are sure to be inspired by her work.

I love Lawn Fawn's Let's Roll set, and I wanted to use Lawn Fawn product on my card, so that decision was the first step in the process of my creation. Then I Googled Rainbow Sushi and got this great photo of a plate of sushi with all of these wonderful colors. I grabbed my Stampwheel, and my card was born!

Please head on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog to see the wonderful creations that Fran and our Design Team came up with to inspire you. Come play with us!

Aficiona-dough

My niece's husband treated us to a most fabulous evening featuring his home made pizza last Friday. When he gets into something, he does it with his entire being. He ordered sourdough starter from Italy to make this pizza. It was like eating clouds but crispy and oh so heavenly. Oh my, it was so good. So I had to make him a card. I used Lawn Fawn's Pizza My Heart stamps and dies, and then I fashioned a punny sentiment and printed it from my computer. The background is made with Spellbinders Plaid Company EF. There is a little leftover ink from a prior use that reminded me of crisp pizza crust, so I went with it.

Freshly Made Sketches #594 provided a perfect layout for my card.

I love the way this turned out. I can't wait to be the taste tester for more of Gareth's pizza experiments.

The Season Of Color

A new challenge starts today at Can You Handle The Pressure? where the theme is always Anything Goes with an Embossing Folder and an optional twist. Heat embossing is welcome, but not required. An Embossing Folder must be used. For this challenge, the twist is "Leaves".

My background is embossed with the SSS Fall Foliage EF, colored with various Distress Oxide Inks and mounted on brown card stock. I stamped my sentiment from Paper Smooches Fall Sampler stamp set on cream colored card stock with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink and die cut it with Pinkfresh Studio Braided Circles. I die cut some leaves with Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves dies and tucked them around the sentiment circle, and my card was complete.

Please head over to the Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge? blog to check out the Design Team inspiration projects. You are sure to be impressed (pun intended)! Then dive into your embossing folder collection and join us with or without the twist! Just be sure to use an embossing folder on your creation!

This Calls For Mimosas!

Time Out Challenge #221 begins today. This time we are challenged to be festive.

We are generously sponsored by Birch Press Designs!

We welcome Gail Gross of Greetings From Gail, and winner of Time Out Challenge #218 as our Guest Designer.

I built my festive design around Avery Elle's Mimosas (retired) stamp and die sets. I stamped the floral image from the stamp set with Memento Cantaloups Dye Ink to create my background. I die cut that piece with Lawn Fawn's Scalloped Rectangles and mounted it on a SU Basic Gray card base. I stamped the champagne glasses with Memento London Fog Dye Ink, colored them with Copics and die cut them. I added some Wink Of Stella to the champagne for a little sparkle. I used Simon Says Stamp Dome Arches dies and SU Apricot Appeal card stock as a frame and to ground the glasses. The sentiment is stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed with clear EP.

Please head on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog to see the wonderful creations that Gail and the Design Team came up with to inspire you. Come play with us!

For the People of Ukraine

Color Hues has a special challenge going on, and I am so gad I finally had the chance to play before it closes. The idea came from Linda Eterno over at The Share Handmade Kindness FB page. She suggested that we, as a card making community, flood the internet with cards in support of the people of Ukraine. As part of this challenge, we are asked to send our cards to someone. This one will go to my niece. It is perfect for her at this particular time in our family. She is all these things and more.

Daring Cardmakers is asking our community to show support for the people of Ukraine by filling the crafting world with
Sunflowers, Blue, Yellow and HOPE.

Modsquad Challenge  is also hosting a challenge - Standing With Ukraine where you must use the colors of the Ukrainian flag. Sunflowers are optional. but blue and yellow are required.

Supplies
Stamps: STAMPlorations Fierce and Brave
Dies: MFT Grande Greenery-solid, Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangles

Love Enclosed

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list. Your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation.

Today's festivities are inspired by St. Valentine's Day, which takes place on Monday, February 14th. The challenge runs from February 4th to February 14th.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the theme. This one was easy peasy. I just got the Heart Grid Hot Foil Plate from Pinkfresh Studio and I had to break it out (or heat it up as the case may be). I foiled it in red for my background, then die cut that piece with Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangles and adhered it on a black base. The heart die cuts are from Spellbinders January 2022 Small Die of the Month Club Kit and the sentiment is from Spellbinders January 2022 Glimmer Hot Foil Club of the Month Kit. I glued the hearts together and popped them up with foam before adhering to the foiled heart panel. I foiled the sentiment in gold and popped it up on the die cut hearts. I used red, romantic sentiment and hearts from the inspo list.

Come play with us! Remember that your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation!

Happy Christmas

Less Is More #457 begins today. We are challenged to create a CAS card inspired by this photo.

I took my inspiration from the corrugated kraft packaging of the gifts and the twine bows. I meant to emboss the outer square with MFT's Square Peek-A-Boo die, but I think I overdid it on the shamming. That's OK, I used the panel as is and die cut the edges with a Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangle die. The gift box and holly die cuts are from Waffleflower's Special Delivery (retired) stamps & dies. I sponged the corrugated "box" with some VersaFine Vintage Sepia ink and colored the holly with Copics. The sentiment is from Simon Say Stamp Tiny Words Christmas.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple which we define as designs that include large areas of CLEAR AND CLEAN space with NO PATTERN, NO INK and NO TEXTURE See challenge guidelines on the Less Is More Blog.

Merci

I finally got a chance to play in my craft room and am making some cards for challenges other than DT projects. How wonderful. I am screaming in at the last moment with an inchie card for AAA #203. I simply cut a one inch square, added a tiny sentiment from SSS Thankful Heart, sponged the edges with Delicata Golden Glitz ink and added a die cut leaf from Lawn Fawn's Stitched Leaves. Both the square and leaf are popped up with foam tape.

Birthday Balloons

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list.

Today's festivities are in celebration of Balloons Around the World Day, which takes place October 6th.
The challenge runs from September 17th - September 27th.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the celebration theme. To create my card, I pulled out my Heart Balloons die from Poppy Stamps. I had a wonderful scrap in reds from an Alcohol Ink panel that I made a while ago, so I used that for my balloons. My purple cloudy sky was made with the Cloud Edger stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. The scalloped panel is from Lawn Fawn. I used balloons, red, purple and clouds from the inspo list.

Come play with us! Remember that your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation!

We are generously sponsored by Newton's Nook.
