Simon Says Stamp and Show Some Tickets!

Hello Everybody! Thank you for playing along with last week's Challenge! The winners will be announced this Wednesday .... so don't forget to check back ... this could be your winning week! This week Simon Says Stamp and Show ... some Tickets! If you want to join in the fun ... all you need to do is ... create something that ties in with our theme ... pop it on your blog ... and come back here and link up so everyone can see what you made! Before you start take a look at what the Design Team came up with...
For this challenge Nancy turned to Tim Holtz Journaling Tickets to create a mini-banner. After inking the edges with Ranger Archival Sepia ink, she used the same ink and stamped background images from Tim's Mini-Holiday set. The stamp set was also used on the tops of miscellaneous chipboard letters. A Marvy Snow Pen was used on the trees and Santa's hat before bits of ephemera were added to each tag.
A page from the Maya Road Birdcage book was the starting point for Tracy's creation this week, covered with the Kraft Resist Paper Stash using the page with the bird image, coloured with Distress Stain faded jeans,  the bird image on the paper then led Tracy to using the Caged Bird Alterations Die to co-ordinate, cut from Grungepaper.  The bird cage was aged with Distress Ink vintage photo and embellished with metal pieces from Tracy's stash.  The bird cage was then adorned with Tim Holtz Adage Tickets, again aged along with a Tattered Floral, cut from fabric.
With the holidays fast approaching, Candy decided to create an extra large ticket embellished with Tim Holtz' NEW Vintage Noel, Tattered Pinecone and Mini Snowflakes die cuts.  The basic ticket is embossed with Queens Gold and Copper Snowflakes then sealed using Tim Holtz' Rusted Enamel technique as seen in Tim's Compendium of Curiosities Book-page 41.  Colorized with various Stickles and Art Glitter Dazzlers; Candy's big ticket is a perfect package decoration or Christmas Tree ornament.  Check out the Tickets Santa is holding!  Have you been "Naughty" or "Nice"?
Sarah Engels-Greer
Sarah had been thinking that tickets could make great flowers, so this was the perfect week to try things out! She used Idea-ology Adage Tickets for petals, edged them with Aged Mahogany and used bottle tops, like these, for centres. She added vintage photos of two lovely ladies filling them with Glossy Accents for a glass effect finish. She attached them to thick wire coloured with Alcohol Inks, added string accents and displayed them in an old wooden off-cut. Just the ticket!
Once Lynne had the Antiquities 8 x 8 pad in her hand she just couldn't wait to create with it!! So she pulled out her Canvas Corp Cards, Mini Damask and Gathered Twigs Distress ink. Once the face of the card was inked up she cut out the flower using the Spiral Blossom 1 die, sanded the edges and created the beautiful flower. OH.....let's not forget the Adage Ticket.......SOAR.
While making this card Dan took the opportunity to tackle one of the items on his "techniques I keep meaning to try" list - Versamark shabby resist (just Versamark without any embossing powder, let it dry then ink over the top).  Apart from a bit of sewing machine jiggery-pokery and the Versamark ink pad, other products he used included the Lost and Found and Kraft Resist card stacks, Distress Ink pads, the Floral Tattoo and Odds and Ends stamp sets and a journalling ticket!
When Terry had some new stamps in her hands, she knew right away what she wanted to make with the tickets theme. She made a card with lots of homemade tickets of different sizes and colours. She worked with the new distress inks, from the Fall Seasonal Edition and Winter Seasonal Edition. For the background she worked with the Silhouette Grass from Hero Arts and heat embossed it with the copper embossing powder. The sentiment on the upper ticket is from The Tims Odds and Ends. The butterflies are from Nellie Snellen, punch and emboss almost at the same time.
Ellen Vargo
Ellen decided to make a key chain of tickets using the blank ticket die and matching stamp from Memory Box.  She added an ornate plate and phrase on the cover, and then used movers and shapers dies with grungeboard and rock candy crackle paint for the remaining tickets.  Each ticket has a simple word stamped with a mini alpha stamp set.

A Tim Holtz Journaling Ticket and a stamp from the Holiday Minis 3 set embossed in bright red creates a focal point for Linda's Christmas ornament (that was cut with a Spellbinders die).  She embellished her die cut reindeer with an Elegant Flourishes die cut and her Viva Pearl Pen

I headed straight for my new Tim Holtz Mini Reindeer and 25 Movers and Shapers this week and then tried to work out how I was going to incorporate some tickets! I settled on a trio of ATC's! So using Fired Brick Distress Stain; Maroon Archival and Walnut Stain Distress Ink I coloured and stamped Wendy Vecchi's Script stamp on some ATC Manilla blanks. The holly was made using off cuts of Manilla card and another Wendy Vecchi stamp! Some Christmas Adornments and a bit of Distress Stickles ... What Fun! Ho Ho Ho!
