Updates

A couple of things happening.

Boss' son 3rd B-day
----------------
Attended my boss' son 3rd birthday party at Jade - the location is superb, just a few steps to West Mall and a couple more to the BB mrt station. Nick is really really fortunate to be my boss' son, lotsa love from his parents and relatives, lotsa toys, heard that he's got so much that he has to put the rest at his grandparents' place. Lotsa digital SLRs aiming at the b-day boy! Now I know why one colleague remarked that whoever marries Nick will be damn lucky. WH brought along his Zeze too..super cute!!

Unexpected Maternity Leave
-------------------------
This Tue, my pregnant colleage suddenly went into emergency cezar. She couldnt feel the movement of the baby and sensed that something was wrong, so she took leave immediately and went for a check-up. And lucky she did, coz the doctor realise that the umbical cord was hanging around the baby's neck! Heard that for most cases like that, the baby will not survive. Luckily her 6th sense saved the baby! Now that both mother and daughter are ok, I can only heave a sigh of relief for them.

Conference on Hari Raya
----------------------
Yes, this sat is a public holiday, but I didnt get to sleep in. Woke up at 6+ to be in time for a conference held at Suntec. Met alot of big shots. During lunch, this ang moh who sat beside me turned out to be the Australia court federal judge. He sounds very humble, no air at all. Not like the rest of the ang moh lawyers. Talked to a lawyer from New York too, but didnt manage to get his card! Didnt stay on for the rest of the conference as it's too legally technical, so went off half way. Dont think there's any compensation for the half of my sat spent at the conference too.

Mean people at work
-----------------
Dont mean my colleagues, but people from external bodies that i worked with. This Indian girl from a research institute actually said a damn scarstic remark to me in the lift in front of everyone to my surprise. She was so quiet and even timid at time. Was in a state of shock for a while before I could retaliate. Then this lady from a conference organiser dropped a time bomb on us on Friday by changing lotsa things which was agreed upon, and she was so mean and refused to get a VIP lot for my big boss until i had to call suntec. She bluffed me saying that VIP lots are only for ministers only. Take me for a kid!! Hate people who bluff me with all these bullshit! These are just a few egs of mean pple that i've met so far. Hmm...this world is full of stupid people, and I will be even more stupid to fall into their traps and be angry with them (learnt that from another colleague who's essentially numb to all mean things). But sometimes you just need to show them u are not to be trifled with, and put the unhappiness behind.

Others
-----------
Lotsa stuff due, what's new? 3,000-word essay, a presentation on the analysis of a poem (which i've no idea how to start), exams coming... I could see the end coming near. But at the same time, i also have stuff due at my work before i can fly off. As expected, they're not letting me off so easily.
