March in Review

Normally I write these monthly recap posts about how quickly the month flew by. Except that wasn't quite the case with March. I'm not quite sure why, maybe it was the cold weather, maybe it's because nothing too exciting happened. But either way, here's a look back at the last 31 days of March.

In March...
Sausage PoBoy
...We went to our first LSU baseball game of the season. Of course the Tigers lost, I only took 2 photos, and when we were ready to leave our car was double parked, hence the reason why you haven't heard about it till now. Hopefully if we make it to a second game this year the experience will turn out a little better.
Finally picked up my copy of Frozen! I'll never #letitgo
...I bought Frozen on dvd. I've yet to actually watch it though, but I'm sure the time will be coming soon.
Chicken Fried Chicken & Mashed Potatoes
...The boy made chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes. This was pretty much an awesomely delicious meal that even tasted great as leftover.

...I posted reviews of 6 books and 4 movies.
The Runaway by Terry Kay
The Highlander's Reward by Eliza Knight
Cover Me Boys, I'm Going In by Keith Hirshland
Pilgrim Footprints on the Sands of Time by Sylvia Nilsen
Round the Bend by Alistar McGuinness
Where'd You Go Bernadette by Maria Semple
The Monuments Men
300: Rise of an Empire
Veronica Mars
Muppets Most Wanted
Without question, my favorite of them all had to be Where'd You Go Bernadette.

...2009, I posted my reflections on The Bachelor finale where Jason left Melissa for Molly. Coincidentally, 1 year later, in March 2010 I wrote my thoughts on Jason & Molly's wedding.
Source
And just because it's fun to share Bachelor news, this week Ashley and J.P. announced that they're expecting a baby this October! While they are one of my favorite bachelor couples it still is a little absurd how excited this makes me.

What are some of your highlights from this past March?

January in Review

Last year I used Lisa's approach to recapping a month, where I'd highlight the meals, moments, reviews, and remembering from the month before. Except there were times where I didn't have an exceptional meal to highlight, or nothing too out of the ordinary happened to mention in my moment. Instead this year, I want to use the same basic idea, but in a free-er form where I don't need to highlight each single item. Which leads us to...

In January...
Huntington Gardens
...I spent a week in California visiting with family and friends.
Burrito with Mole Sauce
...the boy made burritos with mole sauce using a specialty seasoning mix he had purchased in California.

...I posted reviews of 5 books and 3 movies.
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
Somewhere in France by Jennifer Robson
The Gods of Heavenly Punishment by Jennifer Cody Eppstein
Degrees of Courage by Shari Vester
Splintered by A.G. Howard
47 Ronin
The Wolf of Wall Street
I, Frankenstein
Out of all of these Somewhere in France was without question my favorite.

...four years ago, in 2010, I recaped the first episode of Jason Mesnick's season of The Bachelor including this gem,
"I liked Melissa, the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader. "
Of course, while Melissa wound up being the winner that season, Jason later choice Mollie who he married and now has a daughter with. And Melissa is also now married with a baby of her own!

What are your highlights from this January? And would you rather recap a month with defined guidelines or without any?

Project 365: Days 68 Through 74

Another week, and one that felt crazy busy, hence the lack of posting. Yes, the time change hit me hard, but I definitely feel adjusted now, so hopefully normal posting will resume this next week! Of course, starting with the photos of the past week...
Hopping Home
March 9, 2013 - 68/365: Saturday we went to our niece's t-ball game. Here she in hopping her way home. And since you must be worried, she wasn't in any danger of being tagged out. Instead each player bats and they switch sides, and play 2 innings this way.
Ready for Baseball
March 10, 2013 - 69/365: For even more baseball, the boy decided to join an adult league and Saturday was his first game. I'm pretty sure he'd rather not have me post photos of him playing, but instead here's the field before the game.
Des is the Next Bachelorette!
March 11, 2013 - 70/365: Yes, I definitely watched The Bachelor this season, and I love that Sean picked Catherine. I know I say this every season, but I really hope it works out for them! Anyways, the photo above is of Chris Harrison & Desiree, the next bachelorette.
NY Strip Steak
March 12, 2013 - 71/365: The boy made NY strip steaks with garlic rosemary mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious, although the house was filled with smoke for hours afterwards because of the way we wanted to cook the steak. But I guess I'll forgive him, especially since everything tasted so good.
Whole Foods Salad Bar
March 13, 2013 - 72/365: Whole Foods salad bar for lunch.
Banging Birdwich
March 14, 2013 - 73/365: Banging Birdwich from Threes Bones for lunch.
Awesome Trailer
March 15, 2013 - 74/265: An awesome, St. Patrick's-y, trailer I saw on my drive home from work.

And speaking of St. Patrick's Day, do you have anything special planned for today to celebrate?

I'm linking this post up with Random-osity & Kleinworth & Co. for Project 52!

Cleaning Out My Closest

One of the items on my 101 in 1001 list is to clean out my closest and donate the clothes I no longer wear. I thought putting it on the list would finally help me motivate myself to do it, but instead the real motivator was the boy. Over his Mardi Gras holiday he decided to clean and his closest, and told me I had two days to do the same, since then he'd be heading to Goodwill. So over an episode of The Bachelor (the one where Tierra claimed she couldn't control her eyebrow), I cleaned out my closest.
DSC07942
Some of the gems found were the dress I wore to my 8th grade graduation, the tank tops I bought for my 10th grade trip to Italy, the going out tops I bought for my trip to England sophomore year of college. There was even a pair of purple pleather pants I wore to my first Backstreet Boys concert that actually started to disintegrate as I tried them on. I'll let you guess which of those items I actually decided to keep.
DSC07945
Just based on the clothes I've listed, I think it's clear that this clean out was long overdue. And while there was a lot of the boy's clothes donated as well, between the two of us there were six trash bags to donate.
IMG951787
I won't say my closest is empty, but I definitely made a ton of room. Although if I really want my closest back, next on the list should probably be cleaning and preserving my wedding dress which is still hanging with the rest of my clothes.

How often do you clean out your closest? Or what's the oldest item of clothing currently hiding in your home?

Project 365: Days 19 through 24

Here's one more week where I remembered to take a photo each day!
Frozen Yogurt at Nom Nom
January 19, 2013 - 19/365: Watermelon, Cake Batter, Pineapple/Mango, & King Cake Frozen Yougart at Nom Nom
Losing at Agricola
January 20, 2013 - 20/365: Miserably Losing at Agricola
Watching the Longest Onscreen Kiss
January 21, 2013 - 21/365: Watching the Longest Onscreen Kiss on The Bachelor
Spinach & Artichoke Quiche
January 22, 2013 - 22/365: Spinach & Artichoke Quiche at Barnes & Nobles
Kiwi Slices for Dessert
January 23, 2013 - 23/365: Slices of Kiwi Before Bed
Slice of King Cake
January 24, 2013 - 24/365: Cinnamon King Cake

Rain on my Parade

Who else was sucked into Jason's & Molly's, The Bachelor wedding last night? Although if I'm being honest, I loved their season for The Bachelor and was really excited about last night. The whole first half of the show, they were showing clips of the two of them together planning, and it was all being introduced and hosted by Chris Harrison. Now Chris Harrison was doing this intros at the wedding site in Ranch Palos Verdes, California in light rain. The whole time attempting to make the audience wonder, will it or won't it rain.

They kept speaking to the event planer, trying to get her grasp on the situation. If you read through the lines, you could almost tell she wanted to be inside. But it seemed like ABC wanted to have the wedding outside no matter what. Finally there was a break in the clouds, and they decided to go for it and start seating the guests.

Now by guests I do mean Jason and Molly's family and friends, but also every potentially successful Bachelor couple. There was Trista & Ryan, Charlie and Sarah, Jillian & Ed, Deanna & the twin brother of a bachelor from Jillian's Bachelorette season. But finally it was time for the wedding to actually start. I was curious as to whether they would be doing a Jewish ceremony since Jason's Jewish. But aside from a few scattered kippah, it was pretty secular.

But back to the weather. It looked like it was going to turn out beautifully. The rain had blown over, and had even left a rainbow behind. Until Molly started reading the vows she wrote. She started talking and the sky opened up into a torrential downpour. The two of them wound up soaked. Molly's hair was practically ruined. Her make-up was practically ruined. Pretty much a worse case scenario for a wedding day.

But did Molly let the showers ruin her day? Not at all, she laughed through it all and seemed to be completely stress-free. Granted ABC was paying for and had planned most of the wedding, so she didn't have a lot to worry about. But even so, I was impressed. Just to show you here's a shot of them soaking wet walking down the aisle more excited than anything else.
Source
While I'm not planning on getting married any time soon, when I do I hope I'm able to appear as cool and collected as Molly. Who cares that if you're soaking wet, and cold, and your hair and make-up are practically ruined? Its your wedding day, there's still reason to be happy.

Even more than that you could apply this same principle to your everyday life. Even if everything seems to be going wrong, chances are there's still something that you can be happy about.

What were everyone else's thoughts on the wedding special last night? I'm guessing no, but did anyone else learn any life lessons while watching?

On the Wings of Love

I was so excited for the new season of The Bachelor to start last night! Especially, since this season's bachelor is my favorite from last season's The Bachelorette, Jake. I mean just look at him! Plus he's a pilot. Granted he didn't show a lot of personality on The Bachelorette, but based on the previews for the season it does looks like his personality will wind up coming out.

First there's Allie, who in general looks to be an early favorite. She came off as really cute last night. Plus she was a little sick and barely had a voice. So had could Jake send her home.

Then I also like Ella, the single mom. (At least I think her name was Ella.) She came off really confident, and seems to have a great personality. And I'm kind of a sucker for hoping the single mom is able to find love.

I did also like Sheila, the other pilot, but I'm not sure if she actually got a rose last night.

And the season in general looks crazy. I mean there was a scene in the preview who Jake almost stormed out of an interview and threw a chair. They also showed him crying, but if you watched The Bachelorette that was expected. Then there's the fact that a crew member had an affair with one of the girls. And when you think about it, it's almost surprising it's taken so long for that to happen. (Although didn't Bob the Bachelor wind up with a producer after the show ended?)

Either way it looks like we're in for the MOST DRAMATIC BACHELOR SEASON EVER! Anyone else a Bachelor fan? Who are your favorites so far?

Still Undefeated

An other weekend and yet an other win for the LSU Tigers. Which means we're undefeated and number 4 in the country. The game wasn't the prettiest, but we still managed to pull out a win. Next weekend we're playing number 1 Florida. Have I mentioned that next Saturday is also my birthday? I'm really really hoping we manage to pull out a win and my birthday isn't ruined. I told the boy to make sure to pass this message along to any football players he sees on campus, "I'd like a win for my birthday!"

Also this weekend we made a trip to Olive Garden for the never ending pasta bowl. I actually hadn't been to an Olive Garden until I went off to college. And now, well I won't go as far to say its my favorite restaurant (a la the Andrew Firestone season of The Bachelor), but I will say that I need a fix every few months or so.

I started off with spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce was their new mushroom marinara sauce which was pretty good. I'd love to show you all pictures but I forgot my camera. I actually forgot my cell phone as well that night. I guess I was thinking to clearly when I left the apartment. My refill was again spaghetti and meatballs, but this time I went with their meat sauce. I didn't really eat my second bowl, instead brought it home for leftovers. I had about half for lunch today, and I'm planning on having the 2nd half for lunch tomorrow. Overall, 3 meals for under $10. Not too shabby.

As for the last few hours of the weekend? Well, the boy is currently watching the Saints game. We're winning and undefeated there as well. But the boy hasn't yet been able to convert me to a Saints fan. Instead I'm really just looking forward to watching Amazing Race, Desperate Housewives, and Brothers & Sisters tonight!

And yes, have no fear we did still make it to the movies this weekend. I'll post a review tomorrow. Anyone want to guess which of the 3 new releases we saw?

I hope everyone else is having (or had) a great weekend as well.

Away We Go

We didn't have a lot of movies to pick from this weekend. We saw The Ugly Truth last weekend. We really didn't want to see G-Force. We were willing to settle for Orphan. But lucky for there was a showing more than one movie showing at 4:40, and since I've been wanting to see this movie since it came it in limited release, well Away To Review!

Away We Go
I do think I over hyped it. I was so looking forward to this and had such high expectations that it really couldn't quite met them. I still enjoyed the movie overall, but it wasn't quite there.

In general the movies seems to put the two main characters in awkward situation after awkward situation. If you like seeing people in awkward situations then you'd probably enjoy this, but it just felt awkward to me. There were two major laugh out loud moments. But the rest of the movie wasn't necessarily funny, but more a laughing because you feel like you're in an uncomfortable situation and you're not sure what else to do. There were a few romantic scenes at the end I did like.

Normally at this point I'd give ideas about what to go see instead of this. But honestly, I'd classify this as almost a romance, and there aren't a lot of romantic type movies out. (I'd say its as much as a romance as Garden State is a romance, and thinking about it now there are a lot of similarities between this and Garden State.) I won't necessarily go out of my way to see it again, but I definitely don't think it was a waste of money. The boy on the other hand, well let's just say I don't think I could EVER get him to watch this with me again.

Moving to a different note, the season finale of The Bachelorette is on tonight! I know I haven't written a lot about it this season, but I'm thinking Jillian's going to choose Ed, although it wouldn't surprise me if they're already broken up on the renunion show.

I Love You Bruno

So this entry will probably be a little short. Mainly because I wasn't paying attention to the time and The Bachelorette is starting in about 10 minutes. Luckily, there isn't a crazy amount I want to say about either of these movies so it shouldn't be too bad.

Bruno
Please know what you are getting into when you see this movie. Do not be like the people who left within the first 5 minutes of the movie in the middle of the first gay... love scene. (Yes, there is a word that would have worked slightly better there.) If you are easily offended you probably will be offended. And know that there will be a lot of nudity. The majority of it male, but some female as well.

If you have seen Borat you have a pretty good idea what you're getting into. I don't think its a good as Borat. I think part of that is that there isn't as much novelty. We know what to expect, and know that all the skits are 100% real. It is still funny, and if you liked the first you will probably be amused as well. Overall, I'd say my favorite part is the celebrity sung song at the very end.

I Love You Beth Cooper
No, this movie wasn't that offensive, but it wasn't very good either. There were a few scenes that worked, and were almost good. But overall the movie just wasn't very good. I actually asked the boy if we could live halfway through the movie. I wasn't completely serious because I love the theater atmosphere, but it was bad enough that I said it.

I'm hoping for Hayden Panettiere's sake she made this a WHILE ago. Back when she was acting in the Bring it on sequels. I think she better than this now. Although she hasn't really been in many movies, so maybe this is the best they're offering her. If so, yuck! I'd tell her to stick to tv acting.

There were several 12-year-old boys in the audience who seemed to think it was hilarious. So if you're a 12-year-old boy you might love it. I would say if you really want to go to a movie, skip these two, wait till tomorrow night and go see Harry Potter!

Not Quite a Comedy

Up
Have you seen the commercials saying that UP is currently America's number 1 comedy? Well, its a bit of false advertising. Not that it wasn't the number 1 motion picture this past weekend, but because I wouldn't quite classify it as a comedy.

The date before I saw the movie I was listening to the radio. The DJ said not to see Up if you didn't want to cry. "Seriously," I though, "How could that be sad?" I came up with a few ideas, none of which were what actually happens in the actual movie. I will tell you though by the end of the first scene of the movie, its pretty clear what the tearjerker will be.

Now you might be a little confused. Isn't this after all a Disney/Pixar movie? Aren't they supposed to be happy? But you you think about it, there's Finding Nemo where Nemo's mom dies in the first scene. And of course Bambi's mom dies. Fox and the Hound is yet another sad Disney movie.

I think in Up especially, they're assuming the sad stuff will go over the kids' heads and they'll just pay attention to all the funny stuff. (And yes, there are a lot of funny moments. Talking dogs, flying houses, giant birds it is still funny.) But I think they underestimate how much kids pick up. And as a parent how are you supposed to respond when they ask, "Why is he so sad?" The response I've heard, "It's because she went away," not the actual, "She died." After all do you really want to explain what it means when Nemo's Mom gets eaten in the middle of the movie?

Overall, Up IS a really good movie. I'm pretty sure its a shoe-in for next years Best Animated Feature Oscar. But just don't go into it expecting a laugh out loud kids movie. If you're anything like me you'll probably cry several times.

~Shoshanah

P.S. Why is it I have no tv shows I want to watch except for tonight? I'll be trying to flip between The Bachelorette, Jon & Kate Plus 8, the season finale of The Hills, and Here Come the Newlyweds. I seriously need a Tivo.

Laundry Day

Yesterday after the Boy got home from work he said he wanted to do laundry. Probably a first from him, since I'm normally the one who insists its time to do it. We didn't have a lot of laundry to do, but since he's out of school for the summer his job schedule has changed. So instead of needing to wear a black polo shirt two days a week, its closer to 5. Besides the black polos there wasn't a whole lot else, only 1 load of clothes plus our sheets. The problem wasn't the amount of laundry we wanted to do, it was that everybody else wanted to do their laundry Sunday night too!

This is a problem since we don't have a washer and dryer in our aparments. While our apartment does have washer and dryer hook-ups we haven't made the big purchase yet. Luckily the laundry room is right by our apartment, just on the other side of the pool.

We carried our laundry over and there were two men currently put clothes in the dryer. Now our apartment has about 8 dryers, of which 2 require quarters, and the other 6 take money cards. The two men had already filled 4 of the 6 money card washers. We were able to put the sheets in one washer, but when they started filled the last washer we could use before us (since we had money on our money card, but no quarter). So we let out sheets wash, and brought the clothes back to our apartment.

One hour later we brought the clothes over, and moved the sheets to the dryer. No problems there.

One hour later we went back. Turns out someone had needed the dryer our sheets were in. The sheets were sitting on the table, still warm even. But all of the dryers were full, which meant we had no where for our clothes to go. The next dryer to end was in 30 minutes, so we brought the sheets back, made the bed, and waited.

30 minutes later we went back to move the clothes to the dryer. We checked the dryers, there was one open. Success! So we went to move the clothes. Except someone else's clothes were currently being washed in the washer we had used. But where were the clothes. The weren't on the counter. They weren't sitting in any of the dryers. They was a woman doing her laundry, but she said she didn't know, and there was no one in the room when she got there. On a whim we decided to check the washer we had used. The Boy pulled out a pair of jeans from the hot water (not fun I'm sure). Of course it was his jeans! Someone had decided our clothes still looked dirty maybe? And paid the $1.25 to wash our clothes? I'm not sure how that happened, but at least the clothes weren't missing.

Luckily, that was the end of our problems. A hour later we went back and move the clothes to the laundry. An hour after that we moved the clothes to the dryer.

But to sum up, two loads of laundry which should normally take 3 trips to the laundry, instead took SEVEN separate trips! Seriously! We've already decided our first big purchase as a couple will be buying a washer and dryer, and after yesterday I'm ready to buy one now! So we'll see, hopefully sooner rather than later.

~Shoshanah

P.S. The Bachelorette stars tonight! I'm so excited! If you really want to get ready feel free to read all my past Bachelor recaps! I can't wait to see Jillian, and here's to hoping she finds what she's looking for!

Spring Forward

I really love spring daylight savings. I just love how light it stays so late in the day. Yes, it was rough waking up this morning. But work today FLEW by. I had a hard time believing it was already 5, because it so felt at least an hour earlier!

* * * *

Last night I wound up eating the leftover lettuce from
Saturday Night. There are still leftover beans and meat, but I figured the lettuce would go bad faster. I normally don't use actually salad dressing and just use oil olive and vinegar but not last night.

See those huge chunks of feta in the salad? I did not add that. That was IN the dressing. So amazing. It was called Cindy's Kitchen's Greek with Feta and Black Olive Dressing. And its actual listed as a marinade too. I might have to use it like that. I did have it with a piece of focaccia, which is officially gone (it didn't last more than 24 hours in the apartment). But apart from the bread, it was just lettuce and dressing.

Not quite my normal salad. Normally I will buy the baby lettuce mix and top it with fruit and cheese. My fav is pears and Parmesan. Anyone else have a favorite salad combination?

~Shoshanah

P.S. I wasn't planning on watching Dancing with the Stars to night. I'm not a big fan. But when I heard Melissa was going to be on it... well now I HAVE to watch. I just want to make sure she's doing OK. (Prime scheduling on ABC's part by adding her)

Working Lunch

I actually had a really productive lunch break today. Much more than when I normally just grab a smoothie at Smoothie King.

First I stopped at the bank to deposit a check. I have Chase in Louisiana (which of course is a long story, I promise to tell that sometime too). A Chase you had to fill out a whole deposit slip. And the outside of the envelope which had the same information in it. I've taken to leaving extras in the car so I can fill it out before I drive up and keep people waiting in line. So everything was filled out and I drove up to the drive through ATM. Turns out Chase has got rid of deposit slips! (At least this branch has.) You literally got to put the check and any cash you had directly into the machine. The best though was on your receipt they actually printed a copy of the check! I thought that was really nifty.

The I went to Quizno's for actual lunch. I actually ran into the mother and grandmother of a girl I used to watch at after school care there. I decided to eat a Chicken Cantina Sammie meal with Salsa Flavored Sun Chips. I love those sammies! Not so much a fan of the salsa flavored sun chips though. I really like the normal one those. I ate my food and read about two chapters of my books. Then left without even having a refill on my Dr. Pepper! (Go Me!)

Next stop was Walgreen's. I Bought two boxes of Kleenex. (When I say Kleenex I do mean Kleenex Brand Kleenex.) The only had the anti-viral kind, which I don't normally buy, but I needed more. I was out of Kleenex at both my desk at work and at home.

I also picked up some hair ties too. Normally I buy the rainbow colored ones. Just because they are fun and exciting. I figured it was time to grow up and actually bought all brown ones. Not sure I'm such a big fan that...

I went back to work, and actually wound up clocking back in 1 minute early! Not bad for a 59-Minute lunch!

~Shoshanah

And yes, I needed to get one last post about this season's Bachelor in. I was really proud of Melissa that she wasn't there last night. I would have liked to see her. But I think She made the right decision.

I think Jillian will be an amazing Bachelorette (which was pretty much a given to happen). I can totally see he making them all dress hot dogs. lol.

And I do have to say that Jason and Molly did look really happy together. Jason literally couldn't keep her hands off of her. And so I am glad they are happy. And really do hope they make it through!

The Bachelor Reflections

So The Bachelor last night was exactly what the spoilers said it would be. He proposed to Melissa. Then on the ATFR he broke up with Melissa and decided he wanted to be with Molly. I was at least glad the spoilers got some of it wrong.

They said after he proposed to Melissa they called her parents. That her parents didn't approve and that's why he was crying on the balcony.

Wrong! He did get to call Melissa's parents. But before the decision. And the crying was when he broke things off with Molly.

Now maybe this is just me being optimistic but I really really don't think this was staged. I do think he was definitely an ass to Melissa. And prob should have tried things was longer than 6 weeks. I do get that he wasn't able to stop thinking about Molly. But I can't see how after breaking up with Melissa and starting things with Molly he'd just be able to stop thinking about Melissa either. And I think if the situation had been reversed and he proposed to Molly he wouldn't have been able to stop thinking about Melissa.

I do think he kind of dug himself into a hole before the season started. During all the promos for the show he kept saying how happily engaged he was. So everyone knew he got engaged. Everyone knew he was "happy." It was only when the show started to air things changed. (Maybe that's what it was. Maybe he saw himself with Molly on the show and was like Wow. Who knows)

Moving on. At that point ABC had a dilemma on their hands. Sure him and Melissa could have just broken up and never had an ATFR special. They've done that before with Travis and I think Matt too, right? But he had already said they were happily engaged in January. And not showing a post finale special would only make people wonder. But they still could have done it.

I guess the biggest obstacle was that he wanted to start things up with Molly. And again, there have been other Bachelors that dated the other girls from their show. Didn't Lorenzo do that? But I'm pretty sure Jason is the most watched Bachelor in a long time, if not ever. So clearly, ABC didn't want to do nothing. They saw they could get a ratings boost by airing this whole fiasco. Which is what they did. I think think they told Jason who to pick. I don't think the whole thing was staged. I don't think he was talking to Molly while he was dating Melissa. But I do think Jason was an ass for only giving her 6 weeks. And I do think ABC definitely took advantage of their situation, which was their right. This was a television show after all.

I'm really curious to see how tonight will go. I hope Melissa refuses to see Jason. I know if I were her I would. Also knowing that it has been 6 weeks since last night's special and that Jason and Melissa had 6 weeks together it will be interesting to see where Jason and Molly are. (I found the time details out from Chris Harrison blog. So I guess we'll see what happens.

Musical Chairs

I got to work today. Clocked in. Put my purse in my drawer. Went to sit down... and noticed my chair was missing! No I didn't try to sit down on nothing and fall. There was a chair there, but it wasn't MY chair. It was tiny and small and had no handles and made me feel like a little kid. And my trash can was on my desk. And someone had put trash in it! (A Reese's Peanut Butter Cup wrapper. Even at 8 am this made me want one.)

I was actually quite offended. That they valued me so little that they took my chair away and gave me a "baby" chair too. I was actually thinking of "stealing" someone elses char for my own, when I heard one of my co-workers saw, "This isn't my chair!"

It seemed they must have had the carpets cleaned over the weekend and moved everything out of the way. And didn't pay attention to where each chair came from so put them back randomly. Luckily they did this a row at a time so we only had about 10 chairs to sort out. One person had left her jacket on a chair. check. Anyone had a chair covered her hair. check. Two people had chairs without armrests. check check.

So I was able to get rid of my miniature chair. I wound up with a chair, while not the exact one I had before at least the same model. After playing with the levers I finally go myself situation to a high and back position that felt comfortable. With all this drama I forgot to get coffee till 30 mins after I had been at work.

But moving on to more important things. The Bachelor finale! Starts. In. Twenty. Minutes. I am really excited. Although, I feel like it has lost some of the suspense, with the spoilers I've read. I'm not going to share them here in case you haven't seen them. But I really hope that isn't what happens. I'm hoping that he decides to get back with Deanna. That could be a big twist right?

So I guess we'll see. I'm crossing my fingers!

P.S. And that whole big pinkie ring controversy. It can't be that hard to take an image and flip it so you see a mirror image. Thus moving the ring to the right or left hand right?

The Return

I have returned. And I do promise a long post with lots of pictures of the weekend. But somehow I have been conned into cooking. My plan was to cook 1 chicken breast with some tomatoes and capers and somehow I am cooking 2 chicken breasts, one plain one w/ tomatoes and capers, and pesto pasta. Not quite sure how this happened.

But before the Bachelor is on in 20 minutes, my predictions. I think it will be close tonight. But I think Molly will be going home. Deanna might be on tonight, probably. How crazy would it be if he wound up choosing Deanna? Crazy times!!

Internet-ing

I got home from work today and was absolutely exhausted. But the boy was actually here, for like 5 minutes, so that manage to revive me a bit. Since then I have been sitting at my computer "internet-ing" and have slowly started getting tireder and tireder. And before you ask, no I have not worked out today and no I am not planning to.

But moving on... It's hard for me to start reading new blogs. Not that I don't enjoy finding new ones to read. It's more of the fact, that to me it feels like you're starting in the middle of the story. Like you wouldn't pick up a book and open it up and start reading it in the middle, and yet when you start reading a new blog, that's almost what you have to do. So in order to combat this, pretty much whenever I want to start reading something new, I'll read a few entries, and then go back through the archives starting at the beginning. It's time consuming though, and it's hard to do with more than one blog at a time, (ok, I'm doing two right now) but even so. It's a little daunting finding a blog with more than a years worth of archives. It's almost like do I really want to get into this mess?

And then of course when you're reading something that's over two years old, do you leave a comment? About something that was written so long ago? It seems a little silly. But I don't know, I'm not sure of the proper etiquette.

Of course you could start from the most recent entries and work your way backwards, but that kind of ruins the surprise. It's like, "O, you're surprised you broke up with your boyfriend, well it wasn't to me since I read the entry when you got back together with him."

Any one else opinions? Am I completely alone in this weird habit. Do most people not have a problem starting in the middle? If so, I'm assuming you have a problem starting in the middle of a book right? So what's the difference?

P.S. I was finally right about The Bachelor last night and Naomi left. And I was glad they finally showed Deanna in the previews, I was beginning to think I was crazy, "Did she somehow show up and I slept through that part of the episode?." It's funny I was totally not feeling Jillian, but after last night, I really think something might be there between the two of them.

I told myself I needed to work out today. I said, no I really don't want to. I told myself I had to. I compromised. If the Bachelor starts at 7 (O the joys of living in Central time) I will not work out. If it starts at 8 I will work out. It starts at 8. I am not planning on working out.

P.S. The Bachelor is on tonight. Again my pick is Naomi to go home. Yes, I know I have chosen her to leave the past 3 weeks. If it is not her I want Jillian to go. Melissa and Molly are my favorites. And we still haven't seen Deanna. Will she make an appearance tonight? Any predictions?

The Bachelor Predictions

The Bachelor is on tonight! I am planning on working out today, so I figured I'd do a few quick predictions before my Pilate's.

They showed in the previews for this week that they are up in Seattle. But you know what we haven't seen yet this season? Deanna! Back on the 1st episode the said she'd be back. Maybe it'll be tonight, but it doesn't look like it. If Deanne isn't on tonight, then Melissa won't be going home. I remember her commenting on Deanna's visit during the original previews.

Then who will be going home? Well, since Jason sent an extra girl home last week, I'm going to assume only 1 leaves this week. I'll bet it's either Naomi or Mollie. I"m pick Naomi though. So, we'll see...

Well I'm off to Pilate myself. I currently have the hiccups (and when I get them, they are ridiculously extreme. Kind of like loud obnoxious burps). So hopefully all the breathing and stretching will cure them. Cross your fingers for me!
