New Papers at We Are 3

I spent quite a bit of time in the Card Maker Success Summit that just ended yesterday.  The theme seemed to be Ink Blending with Alcohol Inks - isn't that perfect for a digital scrapper?  LOL!  I did get loads of ideas, though - but this idea struck me, and I've been playing ever since.  Daniel West's "Lunchbox" cards.  They are small gift card inserts that can be slipped into lunchboxes, drawers, wallets, purses, pockets, etc.  I've always wanted to be that person who did this....but I'm not much of a "writer," so never jumped on the bandwagon.  But when I saw Daniel's clean and simple cards with a simple message - I got excited that I don't really need to write little notes - I can let my vast inventory of digital sentiments to do that job for me.

The sentiments are from a variety of sentiment sets at We Are 3:  Dreams, Special Wishes, Cactus Thoughts, and Cactus Greetings.

Virtual Digital Crop at Creative Memories

I played in the Virtual Digital Crop over at Creative Memories this weekend.  For this layout, I used Hello Autumn, Camille's Cactus, Camille's Cactus Flower, and Cactus Greetings.  I used Word to add shadows to give an illusion of depth.  Camille's Cactus and Cactus Greetings are from We Are 3.

There's a new release at We Are 3, and it's a must have!  View for slim-line cards is one of my faves.  I added several Camille's Cactus and Camille's Cactus Flower - reminiscent of our mountains in the Southwest.  

Kinda love how this turned out.

  

We Are 3 - Cactus Under the Sea?

What's your environment? Okay, so I live in the desert, but for some reason I thought Camille's Cactus would look beautiful against Under the Sea! I am right, don't ya know? My cactus does look beautiful against the greens and blues and purples in the new Under the Sea collection. When I look at the pattern, though - I see some beautiful stone that belongs with my cactus.

And how about the fun sentiment from the Cactus Greetings set?  I really enjoyed doing something clean and simple - lately it seems my projects have all taken more "thought."  My mojo is a bit fleeting currently.  Be sure to check out what the other designers are making with the beautiful new Under the Sea papers. 

                              

We Are 3 Floral Watercolor

I went the simple route on this card and used just a big Camille's Cactus against the mosaic from Floral Watercolor. I love the cactus against the bright colorful mosaic - it's so Southwest! Super fun, and as quick as can be! I'm also used a sentiment from the Number Birthday set. 'Tis the Season and Camille's Cactus

Anybody else feel like they are already behind in their crafting for the holidays? Not even Thanksgiving yet....and I'm feeling the push. My family doesn't help with many of them having birthdays between now and Christmas. LOL! I found this ornament wooden sign at Target last year. I had a handful of succulent picks I've been wanting to use for something. So I was inspired by Power Poppy's Creative Confetti Challenge - to alter an everyday item with a stamp.  I used We Are 3's new, basic Christmas sentiments in the 'Tis the Season set. The cactus is Camille's Cactus, adorned with Camille's Cactus Flowers - all from We Are 3. I colored the digital stamps with GIMP and used the waterslide-decal technique to add the cactus - the sentiment is cut in vinyl. I'm new to waterslide - not a fan right now. Perhaps next time I'll use an iron-on transfer. However, because the wood is rustic, I'll blame that for a couple of the cactus flowers looking wonky. LOL!

                  

Power Poppy Creative Confetti

Time for another Creative Confetti Challenge! This week, Power Poppy is going over the edge. This time I decided to take my own cactus and cactus flower  over the edge. I added a plastic sentiment embellishment from my stash.

I'm playing catch up on Creative Confetti challenges at the Power Poppy blog since I wasn't able to get to my craft table for the past few weeks.  Last week, the challenge was to Make it Shimmer!  For this challenge, I made a treat box with an acetate lid - embellished with a belly band and some Cactus decor.  For the shimmery inspiration from Power Poppy, I sprayed the cactus with some metallic shimmery spray paint...difficult to see in the above photo, so here is a close up of the shimmery cactus.
