My Blue Blog....for now

So I changed the color of my blog to BLUE.
Perhaps I too have my blue days, but not in a sad way-just colorful. Have a bluetiful day.

The Mall of it all...

...I don't go to malls, too busy for me. We've lived here 21 years and I' ve been to the mall three times. I have no reason to shop there. Today after exercise I decided to go to the mall because Macy's was the only place I could get what I wanted and know that it was the "true" thing that I was getting. I could have shopped online at Sephora's, Nordstrom's and other "fancy" stores that carry this product, but since I've bought it before at Macy's, the mall was it. I also wanted to be sure I was getting what I was paying for.

I got these freebies for buying what I did buy. Little tubes of different types of perfumes. They seemed to have a nice scent.

But this is what I was after, I just had to have it. Nothing beats the scent of Chanel No.5

I know it costs a lot, but I won't be buying any more for at least a year. Today I plan on taking a nice shower, shampoo and fluff my now reddish hair (tee hee) and putting on something nice and splashing some of this good stuff on me and I'll feel like a real WOMAN! GO WOMAN, GO!

...and then I have to go cook.:( Oh well, can't win them all.
Tee Hee.  At least my husband will see me looking semi-good,  and smell the scent of me, and I'll see that wishful look in his eyes of what may happen later this evening. Oooh la la.

Cha Cha Chanel!! Cha Cha Chanel!!
P.S. What is your favorite perfume?

  1. Good for you Gloria!! My favorite perfume is Amarige by Givenchy. It just feels good when you have your favorite perfume on!

    Have a great nite! ;)

  2. That's my mom's favorite perfume and it always has been. I like their soaps and lotions, too! Good stuff!

PS - Check your e-mail when you have a chance. :)

  3. You are such a cutie patootie.
My fave perfume is L'air du Temps by Nina Ricci. Isn't it funny how powerful the right scent is? Have a super weekend. The Olde Bagg

  4. I have always loved Channel #5.

I have alergies so its hard to wear most perfumes. I am so lucky that I am able to wear my favorite less expensive cologn..Taboo. I know, I know its cheap but I love the spicy scent of it. Sometimes I top it with just a tiny spray of vanilla scent. That's my every day scent. When I want to feel special I wear Channel #5 or Shalimar.

  5. Sometimes we just have to have certain things. My fav is what I have worn all the way back from my high school days, White Shoulders.

  6. Go, Gloria, Go! I must admit that I've never been drawn to expensive perfumes. Expensive cosmetics in my younger days, yes, but never expensive perfumes. I lean more towards the natural aromatherapy oils for perfume or...wait for it...Avon's Soft Musk. :)

I'm impressed that you have only visited the mall three times in all the years you've lived there...well done!

  7. Malls are not among the things we miss from the U.S. - we have a mall in Xalapa much like the U.S. brands with Liverpool and more - we have been there twice in six years. But now if you want to talk about mercados - oh boy!

  8. You Go Girl!!! Sounds like you will have a wonderful evening. :o) I use essential oil perfumes that my mother gives me. I'm allergic to perfumes that you spray. I gave my daughter my last bottle.

Sadly, I sent dear hubby and a son off to Colorado for a nine day trip (business convention) and won't see them back till late next week. We've been doing video calls on Skype. In fact, I'm waiting for him to call me any minute.

    Oops..He's online!

PS. Check out my giveaway-quilted tote bags--you pick the block from my stash.
    Love you,
    Donna

  9. Gloria!!! I actually got a bit flushed!! hahahahahaha!! You bad girl, you!!!

I remember my grandmother and mother wore Channel 5...when I smell it, it takes me back to my childhood. I've worn different colognes throughout my life...in my younger years, I wore stronger parfumes, but now that I'm a vieja, I'm inclined to wear parfumes that are more subdued...call less attention to me, I suppose!! LOL I love "Cool Water" by Davidoff and "Light Blue," by Dolce Gabbana. I also love "Happy" by Clinque, but I have run out...guess I can wait till Christmas since I have plenty of the other two.

Oh, BTW, I learned something about scents. For longevity, keep them in their boxes and in a dark place or some place where they don't get lots of light. Learned that the hard way...have this wonderful cologne that went bad...really bad!! I spoke with a lady at my favorite parfum place and she gave me that advise...perhaps the display isn't as nice, but at least you won't have to replace your colognes or parfums after a few months.

Have a great week and keep it up, Chica..."nudge, nudge, wink, wink!"

    xxoo,
    Georgina

  10. Hi Georgina::nudge, nudge, wink, wink::Tee hee. You be careful in Texas and have lots of fun and bring back that recipe you were talking about. I actually had planned on leaving it in the box, thank you very much for letting me know about that. Okay you take care and have a great weekend and I like the sound of Light Blue by Dolce Gabbana.

Hi Donna. I was over at your blog and decided to make the potato salad. Looks so good. I'm taking a break right now from painting the outside frame of the doorway to the studio or rather priming it. How neat that you do Skype to stay in touch with your family. I've never tried that. Thx for stopping by and I missed that quilt thing you were talking about, I'll have to go check it out later. Take care.

That sounds great Calypso, "Mercados." Someone posted about them. I thought I heard something about the Merced Mercado. Rick Bayless goes there a lot. They have so much chili there and lots and lots of veggies. It's your Sunday today, so enjoy. Or is it Saturday. Never the less enjoy, take care.

Serena, this is the only expensive Perfume I like. I don't spend money foolishly but I think this one time I needee a boost and went for it. I love Avon too and yes I probably won't go to the mall for another 20 years, if I'm still alive. Tee hee. Take care.

Hi Carol. You know...I have a little bottle of Taboo. I like the spicy scent of it too. Oh yes, Shalimar. That is awesome. My cousin wore that and you knew she was there. Have a great weekend Carol. Miss Taboo.;)

Hi Linda. Nina Ricci, that's nice. Yes it is strange that the right scent can be a head turner. have a great weekend Linda.

Hi lly. I checked my email and yes you can. I hope you are having a great weekend. I like your latest sketches.

Hi Cathy. Amarige by Givency, wow! I have never tried that and don't know what the scent is like but I darn well will have to find out. Yes it does feel good with the right perfume. It makes you more, shall we say, aware of yourself. Take care, have a great weekend.

  12. I love your post! I always want to smell good for my hubby and for the children and grandchildren! I love it when one of them hugs me and says, "ooh, you smell good!" Ha! It does make us feel so feminine, I agree! I use Gloria Vanderbilt most often...

  13. Hi Cynthia. I love White Shoulders too. It's been a while since last I smelled it. Next time I go to the store, I'll see if they have it so that I can remember what is smells like. Have a great weekend.

  14. Hi Gemma, that's another scent I have not smelled yet. I'm going to have to find out about some of these scents I've yet to try. Have a great weekend amiga.

Hi Kerrie, I remember that scent by Vanderbilt. Yes, I like that too. Hope you and yours are doing good. Have a great weekend. Yes, perfume awakens our innermost beings.

  15. I don't wear scent anymore.... other than essential oils. Hate to be a spoil sport but have found out that perfume contains fragments of metal that help the scent stick to your skin...a contributor to alzheimer's disease and other heath issues like arthritis. I know...not what anyone really wants to hear...but I do care about my bloggy friends.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
