Card Making Monday: Happy For You

Monday, June 23, 2014

People. Have you seen the Let's Roll stamp set by Lawn Fawn yet? It's simply irresistible. For today's card I used the set in combination with my favorite Copic Markers.

Let's Roll Lawn Fawn Card
I created a folded card base of 4.25 by 4.25 inches, adding a 4.5 inch scalloped circle die cut to the front. The ends of the sentiment stamp were angled upward on the acrylic block to mimic the circular edges of the die cut. This is one technique that I too often forget about.

The images were stamped on Copic X-Press It Blending Card, my favorite. Adding the face stamps really brought the sushi to life.

Card Making Monday: Take It Easy

Monday, June 16, 2014

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and an enjoyable Father's Day. Before meeting my own pops for lunch, I snapped a quick photo of the card I created just for him.

No one loves napping more than my dad, so this stamp set from Lawn Fawn was just right for the occasion. I stamped the chair using orange ink. Next, I used a colored pencil just a shade darker to add shadows. The picture below shows the difference between the two.

The step took no time at all but makes a big impact! It was layered on the card front with papers from the Travel Light Collection by We R Memory Keepers.

Thanks for stopping by! Make sure to take it easy.

Saturday, April 19, 2014

Good afternoon! Are you having a great Saturday? Today I'm sharing a quick card using Lawn Fawn stamps.

I can't get enough of Lawn Fawn's adorable images and recently picked up this stamp set. I stacked the stamps on the set to create the party scene, coloring the images with my favorite Copic markers. The coordinating sentiment is just too perfect!

Thanks for checking out today's project!

Great Chemistry Card with Lawn Fawn

Thursday, April 3, 2014

Hello Blog World! I'm not a fan of science, but the stamps in today's card have quickly become my favorite. So cute...

Science of Love Card by She Zig Zags
The card base is a bit smaller than the A-2 size I usually stick to, making this card 3.5" x 5". To ground the images I stamped a red rectangle directly onto the card front with a little bit of faux stitching one the ink dried.

Glossy Accents on Stamped Images
The images were colored with Copic markers and then covered in my favorite product, Glossy Accents. Look how they shine!

Stamp, Stitch, & Splatter

Saturday, September 7, 2013

Hello Paper Crafters! I'm here today presenting Drill #15 with the S.W.A.T Team! For this drill, we challenge you to use three fun techniques - Stamp it, Stitch it (machine, hand, or faux), & Spray or Splatter it!

We can't give a great challenge without a prize! One lucky participant will receive a $10 gift card for 3 Scrappy Boys!

I love all three of the techniques in this challenge and was THRILLED to use them all on one project! I started by adding brown ink splatters to my cream cardstock base. You can achieve this look over an even mist by removing the cap/nozzle and gently tapping the straw above the areas you'd like to ink.

After Distressing the edges of two paper squares and adding a few patterned circles, I machine stitched a square to hold all of the pieces together. I love the added texture!

I finished off the card with stamping! Looks like I did the three techniques in the challenge backwards! I paper pieced the bun and stove and adding it to the center. I grounded the image by cutting a small banner from brown patterned paper. I also stamped the sentiment onto a strip of cream cardstock, cut it up, and arranged it on the card front. Lastly, I embellished the card with a few star wood veneers.

Thanks for stopping by! Make sure to head over to the S.W.A.T blog to see my fellow design team member's gorgeous creations. Link up your own project by September 28th to be entered for a chance to win!
