Today I have a short little video showing how I like to add white highlights to the digi images that I color. In my video I used the digi stamp called "Peter".
For many of you this won't be a "new" idea, but hopefully some of the pointers or products I used will be helpful to you. And for some of you it will just be a nice reminder of a little touch we often forget to add.
I hope you enjoyed the video. If you have any trouble clicking the video above you can see the video at this link.
Today I have a long lost video to share with you. Somehow this one got buried in the video vault but thankfully it is found now and can be shared with you.
In this video I show you how to create a starry or snowy night sky on your colored digi stamps.
If you have any trouble viewing the video by clicking the above you can use this link.
I hope you enjoy this tutorial showing how I made my Weekly Planner.
There are lots of fun techniques and tips in this video, so even if you don't plan to make a Wipe Off Planner I hope you will watch the video and maybe learn a few little tricks.
If you have trouble clicking the video above you can view the video at this link.
As I mentioned in my video I want to be sure to give special recognition to Vivian from Contadina K. I can't thank her enough for her inspiration and amazing videos. The masking tape technique I use in this video is inspired by some of her projects.
It's Tuesday and time for another Tutorial. Today I thought I would do a little video tutorial to show you my tips and techniques for making Glimmer Mist sprays.
If you have any trouble clicking the video above, please click this link to the video.
Making your own Glimmer Mists is really very fun and of course cost saving. Don't be afraid to mix paints too and come up with your own wonderful color concoctions.
Items needed:
Acrylic Metallic Paint - (non metallic works too)
Rubbing Alcohol
Ranger Ink Mini Mister
2 bb's
I have had such fun looking through blogs lately at amazing tutorials. Needless to say there is SO much inspiration out there.
My project today was inspired by a project that I saw from Crafty Kate. I loved the 3D effect given by the layers and thought I had to give something similar a try for my "Field of Dreams" project. I have also been getting SO MUCH inspiration from one of my favorite new blogs called Contadina K. Vivian has tutorials that are SO much fun to watch. The "watercolor" technique that I share with you in this video is inspired by her videos.
Whew, I was so out of practice filming videos. If you have trouble viewing the video above please click this link.
As I mentioned in the video we are going to offer you the frames I used for my project.
If you use Make the Cut you can download this file - http://www.4shared.com/file/plMf_G9C/shellysimagescom-circleframefi.html
The following .jpg are great to use as templates. Just insert the files into a Word document. Be sure to adjust the size for your project. Then print and use as a template. Or, feel free to use your cutting machines and import the file as a pixel trace.
I will also share the .jpg versions of the template. Please be aware that sizes can change depending on the program you use and the way that you insert the file into each program. I recommend printing a test copy on plain paper to make sure the measurements are all correct.
I hope you enjoyed the tutorial. And I really hope you will make some of these fun boxes. If you do make some projects using the tutorial we would love to have you drop in and share them here. Or enter them in some of our challenges. If you have any questions at all about our tutorial please post a comment here. Be sure to leave us a little note if you grabbed the templates. :)
Today for our Tutorial Tuesday I thought I would share a video I made of the coloring techniques I used
for coloring our Rooster Digi Stamp.
A few months ago we did a tutorial on a Partial Front Card and we got a few requests for a tutorial on how I colored this wonderful image. I am definitely not a pro with the Copics and really feel like I am still learning so much with these fantastic markers. But hopefully this tutorial gives you some wonderful pointers on coloring images like this.
If you have difficulty viewing the video above, you can go to this direct link.
Today we are showing you how to make a cute container for the Letters to Santa that the children write each year. What a great way to keep and preserve these fun letters. And imagine how fun it will be to open these 5 or 10 years from now.
We have a number of files that go with this tutorial to give to you.
The first file is the template used to cut out the pieces for the top and bottom of your container. Just insert the image into a Word document as you would any other digi stamp that you use. It should insert at the correct size for printing. Print it on the wrong side of your patterned paper and cut out. Be sure to print and cut two.
The second file is the file used for the letters to put in the container. Follow the link to get the Word document for printing. I forgot to mention it in the video, but these will print on a 5 3/4 x 9 inch piece of paper.
We are also giving you the tag we used on our project.
And lastly we are offering the Flourish .svg file used to cut the flourishes used on our project. This file actually contains two versions of flourishes. It can be used with Make the Cut software or any other software that allows you to import .svg files for cutting. (We would love to hear how many of our Shelly's Images friends are using .svg files. Please leave us a little note if you would be interested in more .svg files in the future.) shellysimages.com-2flourish
Our sweet Amanda has been away due to an accident. I am happy to say that she is doing better and better but needs some time to rest and heal. So I am here this week with a tutorial for you.
We spent most of the weekend decorating for Christmas. So I thought I would show you this fun ornament that you can make.
I apologize for it being a little long. I thought I could fast forward through some spots, but I haven't quite mastered that in my video tutorial skills.
Enjoy our tutorial, and leave us a comment. We love to hear from you.
Today we have our first ever video tutorial for you. It is FAR from perfect, but I think I did fairly well considering it is my first video. Please excuse a couple of the blunders.
Leave us a comment and let us know what you think of the tutorial. And as I mentioned in the video, please let me know if you would like a tutorial for the coloring I did on the Rooster. I would be happy to do a tutorial if it would be helpful to you.
Hi and welcome to Technique Tuesday at Shelly's Images. I used the new image "YARDWORK" from yesterday to display my technique. Hope your ready to roll things up. We always have scraps and/or want a trim that matches the project. With the Rolled Paper Technique you can do just that. It's very easy but very unique on your project. Attached are the easy instructions and two sample cards.
This image was great to make Father's Day cards.. be sure to stop on over to Shelly's Image Store and see what she's been working on.
This rolled paper technique is great on layouts also. Above was a layout I used the technique on... it is a great accent and if made with two sided paper that matches.. it is fabulous.
Added surprize I thought I'd share my 1st ever video tutorial of my flower that is used on this layout.
Now you have two great techniques to play with. Enjoy making some projects. You can share your projects with us.. be sure to leave a comment.. then use InLink to link your blog post. I would love to visit and see your projects on your blog.
OH and I almost forgot.. Terrifically Thrilling Thursday I have been working on something special and I think FUN for you to make a Project of. Please join me again soon.
