We then got to Amsterdam and had some time to wander on our own.
Both the historic statues and cameras watch you as you wander the streets.
It's quite a busy place with lots of pedestrian traffic.
As we made our way through various alleys and squares in Amsterdam. We discovered that we had inadvertently wandered into the red light district.
There were not, contrary to expectations, red lights demarcating it, and the first clue we had that we had wandered into it was a scantily-dressed lady doing some live advertising for services staring out a window for potential customers.
Interesting experience, and quite a conversation then ensured. The area looks no different from the rest of the places we walked about.
We then stopped for lunch outside the red light district and then some shopping occurred.
Some rather stylish clothes were purchased and a few souveniers and gofts for people back home.
We then met back up with the tour and headed back to the ship.
