Edvard Munch in Snow

I made this card to Miwa from a picture which I took in Oslo, Norway, in February, when there was the opening of the Nordic World Ski Championships. The center of Oslo was then full of fantastic snow sculptures made based on the paintings of the Norwegian painter Edvard Munch. The sculpture on this picture is based on his painting "The Sick Child".

I made a foldable card, and used on the backside a picture of a snow sculpture made based on Edvard Munch's painting "Scream".

I felt this simple envelope decoration made by silver and gold metallic stamping inks was suitable for the snowy delivery.

Mokuren

This beautiful Japanese art card arrived from Miwa in Tokyo.
She tells that these flowers are called Mokuren, and they are similar to cherry blossoms.
I really wish I one day will see these flowers in Japan!

Right now Japan is in the middle of an awful natural disaster, and people there are in our thoughts and prayers.
- When you see this Miwa, please leave a comment to tell how you are.

Japanese Proverb to Japan

This card is of a drawing by the very well known Finnish children book illustrator Rudolf Koivu (1880-1946).
I felt the card was very suitable to be sent to Miwa in Japan, because the text on the card says: "No road is long with a friend - Japanese proverb".

Owl from Miwa

This beautiful card arrived from Miwa. I really like the owl artwork!

The bird stamps are also very lovely; especially the owl stamp.

Mirror Art to Miwa

I made this card of a picture which I took in Spring when we visited Edinburgh in Scotland. The picture is from the Camera Obscura and World of Illusions museum, where they had this nice mirror arrangement, where the lights and colors changed all the time and you could see yourself in million couples! I loved to take pictures of that!

Ukiyo-e

This beautiful card came from Miwa in Japan.
The card is of an artwork by Utagawa Hiroshige, a Japanese ukiyo-e (woodblock print) artist.
Very interesting, thank you very much Miwa!

Butterflies to Miwa

I sent this card to Miwa, it's about an etching by Inari Krohn (she is a Finnish painter and graphic artist, and some other work by her can be seen here http://www.amagallery.net/kokoelmat/krohn/koko_krohn.htm).
The name of this artwork is Messenger. I love the colors on it.

I have had some kind of a butterfly craze for some time now, and I lately bought these butterfly rubber stamps.
My stamping wasn't very perfect in this envelope, but actually I liked the unsuccessful result, because it made the envelope look beautifully beaten-up. :)

Cherry Blossoms Art Card

Miwa sent me this beautiful art card which she had found in a small gallery.

The stamps follow the theme perfectly!

To Miwa

This is my latest card to Miwa. It is a picture of an artwork (etching with watercolor) by Inari Krohn, a Finnish graphic artist.

The card was so big that I was able to use a set of old Finnish Mark value stamps.

From Miwa

This Japanese card came from Miwa.
The card is beautiful, and so are also the postages! I like the way how Miwa has continued the drawing of the narcissus postage.

Beautiful Art Card from Japan

I got this beautiful art card today from Japan; thank you so much Miwa!

I got to know Miwa via Postcrossing in the beginning of 2008, and nowadays we are sending art cards to each others.

I like the old stamps she has used in this card.
