My Precious

Yes, my kids are as nerdy as their father and I love it.  Sam has been walking around the last few days with this ring around his neck, held on by Lego chains.  I don't know if he's just sensitive to it or not, but he has been pretty irritable and touchy lately.  We may have to take it off him soon before it affects him too much! :)

Scheels

We finally went to Scheels.  For months we were trying to figure out what they were building off the freeway.  When we found out it was a Scheels we then had to go look up what that was.  So of course it took us months to finally go.  People had been talking about how fun it was for kids to go so we decided that we had nothing better to do on this dark snowy day, so off we went.
The store was amazing.  I loved the fish tanks.  They had such a great variety of colorful and interesting fish.  From there we went upstairs and saw the "mountain" covered in animals.  They were amazing.  We also loved all the booths they had set up through out the store.  We ended our trip by riding the huge Ferris wheel that was in the middle of the store.  The kids just giggled and giggled at being so high up.

Sam being strangely cryptic as he pretended to be "Two-Face" and flipped his Ferris wheel token like a coin to make his decisions! :)

Perfect Day for a BBQ

(Don't know why this picture is side ways...)
We thought that since it was barely snowing it seemed like just the right time to fire up the grill and make some burgers! ;)  Love doing this in the winter.  The smell of the grill seems to warm my insides.

Snuggles First Official Walk

It was just too beautiful to stay inside today so we decided it was high time that Snuggles was taken on a proper walk.  The kids were ecstatic.  They ran the whole way and had to take turns holding the leash.  We actually had to take a much needed pit stop at the park so everyone could catch their breath from all the excitement.  They kids had a blast playing while Snuggles was in heaven with all the smells that were surrounding her.  I got to play with the kids and sit in the sun and soak it up.  It was very therapeutic.

I LOVE YOU day

We had a great Valentine's Day!  The kids woke up to fun surprises and festive shirts.  (I don't go over board or anything on the holidays!) ;)  You can never go wrong with candy, Legos, and puppies at this house!

We then had a fun breakfast of heart pancakes.  They were delicious.

Dad had to go to work, so it was big Valentine's Day hugs for him!
It was off to Dad and then Sam had to get ready for school.  He was so excited to take his teacher the heart Lego he had made her.

Room Mom

I have absolutely loved being Sam's Room Mom.  It was been so fun.  We threw a killer Halloween Party and now we've thrown a successful Valentine's Day Party as well.
I had fun coming up with fun games for the kids to play and fun crafts for them to make.
We had four stations.
"Love Bug" and "Kisses Memory".  The kids made cute love bugs and then played hot and cold to find them around the room after hiding them.  They then got to play kisses memory.  I made cute little labels for the bottom of the kisses.

"Love is a Battlefield"  These were awesome races and activities.  We play "Heart-o-stack" where they had to build the tallest heart tower out of conversation hearts, they had three legged races and round large hearts on the ground, races where they had to balance heart bean bags on their heads, and they had to suck tissue paper hearts up with straws and get them in buckets...it was a blast.

"Feed the Love Monster" and "Heart Toss"  The kids had fun trying to make all the heart bean bags in the heart buckets and loved trying to feed the love monster.

"Don't Eat Pete" and "Ticky-Takcy-Toesies"  The kids love Don't Eat Pete.  It was a huge hit at the Halloween Party, so we had to bring it back.  The kids also enjoyed learning how to play tic-tac-toe.  There were a lot of kids who'd never played it before.

Sam had a blast at his class party and loved coming home, looking through his Valentine's and eating all the junk he could possibly stand!

Love is in the Air

We have been busy little cupids at our house this week making treats and treasures for our friends.  The kids have been great helpers and have even designed some pretty cute things.  I love that my kids are getting old enough to do this with me.  I have so many memories of helping my mom make things for other people and I think it is so important for kids to learn that at a young age.
We of course had to start by making our own ultimate treat so that we wouldn't be tempted to eat the ones we were making for our friends.

Then it was on to more serious decorating so that we could get out and deliver them.
The aftermath is never my favorite, but I do love to see it to see how much fun we had.

The kids have also been way into making their own Valentine's.  Sam is writing great ones.  He will even write them in character.  If he is pretending to be Superman you will get one from Superman!  We love getting them from him.  Chloe and James can color a mean card as well.

We even got some Valentine's from our neighbors.  We were so thrilled and the kids were excited to be on the receiving end of things as well.
