A few years ago we bought a fake Christmas tree from Costco. I thought I would miss the real tree smell and everything that comes with the real tree, but it was instant love and we have been enjoying it ever since.
This year, in the spirit of embracing our Oregonianism, Seth was determined to get a real tree. So we looked on Craigslist, found some young kids running a Christmas tree farm for their mission and college funds, pulled on our rain boots and jackets and headed out.
how about these, mom?
okay...we'll keep looking.
off to look some more
this one is pretty
yep, this is the one!
off to get the saw
this thing works pretty well!
timber!
oh, sunshine!!!
I LOVE her cute little personality right now!
whistling back to get the tree.
almost to the car!
load her up!
The tree is much larger than we were expecting. It is HUGE! And while the experience of getting the tree was fun and memorable, I continue to be reminded why I love my fake tree so much. No lights to put on, no needles to clean up, no straightening the tree in the stand, no uneven branches...real trees are kind of a pain!
It's an Oregonian Christmas!
