Seraphim Bears 100 Bear Milestone Giveaway!

Seraphim Bears has now created 100 bears and counting!!!! So I would like to say thank you to all of you by having a FREE GIVEAWAY BEAR. This is going to be a very special bear - a gift of my appreciation for your support and love.

On my side bar you will see a voting poll - it's located at the very top right hand side... here is where you can decide what style of bear you want! And just to refresh your memories I am posting here two bears in each of the styles so you know what's what. (These bears are just examples of style - the contest bear will not be made until October 2012 after the results of the poll have been taken)

Fizzer Is Going HOME

Hello Everyone:

First I would like to say HAPPY CANADA DAY to you all! Today is a very special day indeed! It is the day we draw for the winner of the Seraphim Bears Free Giveaway contest!

If you all remember ... you had this image to look at and you had to tell me who you thought I was creating.

You were given clues, you knew it was a girl and you knew it was a famous Canadian! This bear was being created for the Children's Aid Foundation Teddy Bear Affair to be held this year.

If you left me a comment you got one entry into the contest

If you put my giveaway on your blog you got another entry into the giveaway

And if you guessed the correct answer for who I was making you got another entry into the giveaway.

Here is the finished image of Anne and she has now been mailed to the Children's Aid Foundation coordinator for this event! She was 18" tall and is fully armatured with lock nuts and cotter pins. Her carpet bag has a zipper and real leather straps all handmade by me. She really turned out lovely. I am not a big costumer so this bear was a challenge But I made every stitch of her clothing including her pantaloons myself. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute!

And what would you win if your name was chosen out of the glass teddy jar... A miniature Seraphim Bear named Fizzer!

It has been a long time and you have all been anticipating this moment! It is the first Seraphim bear giveaway that I am doing on this blog. Fizzer is a mini Seraphim Bear and comes with all the little special surprises that all Seraphim Bears do.

I will not be mailing Fizzer out immediately although he is really anxious to meet his new parent. With the Canadian mail carriers just recently back to work there is still a back log for them to get caught up on so I don't want him to go missing in the shuffle. I will inform the winner once he has been shipped... he is all ready to go so it won't be too long now!

I got out my good luck quilt (the first quilt I ever made...so full of magic)
I got out the old Kraft Peanut Butter glass jar in the shape of Mama Bear and I began adding the names of all the entries for this giveaway...

The bears for Scotland are completed.
The bears for the Teddy Bear Artist Invitational show are almost all completed... they need to be photographed.
The gallery bear only needs to be costumed which I am now working on but she is all together, full armature, she can stand on her own and is made of the most gorgeous mohair I have ever purchased! I cannot wait for you to see her!

Free Giveaway ~ Who am I ~ Happy Easter

As promised I thought I would post a before picture of my bear that I am creating for the Children's Aid Foundation Teddy Bear Affair 2011.

The bear now has a full armature as of last night and is jointed and tonight will be the stuffing night. I want to have her completed by the end of this Easter weekend so I can start her clothes as of next week.

So, I thought ... I want to build my following here on my blog. How can I do that? And so I thought some more... and I decided, maybe it's time to do a free BEAR giveaway!!! This will bring my charity bears to four for this year! This one is not for charity so much as a thank you for following me and believing in Seraphim Bears but still it will be my forth free bear this year.... and in that, my last for this year also.

In order to be a part of this giveaway you need to make leave a comment ~ a guess on who it is you think my bear for CAF is going to be (see picture above). This years theme for the Teddy Bear Affair is Canada, so take a really good look at the fabrics and the bear itself and see if you can guess who this bear might be. I have already given you one hint by calling it a SHE so you know that it will end up a girl and it must be a rather famous Canadian girl. And now I have said a GIRL and not a lady so that should give you plenty to go on.

Spooky Rabbits and Sewin Bears

It was a long but not long enough weekend. I have been sewing bears non-stop to get ready for Silly Bears and my Toronto show coming up in April. I am also preparing a wonderful bear for the Children's Aide Foundation calendar and auction with the theme of Canada and I will be representing a bear of Anne of Green Gables.

I sadly gained weight this week... .6lbs and I am truly not quite sure why but it happens. I was a bit discouraged yesterday but have woken up ready to continue the journey I started.

I am actually writing to tell you about a really fun giveaway that is taking place;

These are the absolute coolest things! I own a few sets myself and there may even be some under my tree for some very dear friends... hehehehehe but I won't name a soul.

They have wonderful papers and nice big numbers and actually can count down to any special event as you can count down from 31 day to O. Think of that vacation you are looking forward to, a special show you have coming up, a birthday, anniversary or any number of things. Do you have small children? These blocks are wonderful for learning numbers too! They are nice and BIG too at 3.5" square and the base is approximately 8" long.

They are made of wood, hand painted and the papers and numbers have all been sealed for long lasting blocks that can be gently wiped down with a damp cloth if need be. This set is super prim with nice warn edges and stain ageing to add to that well used and love look.

The front of this set says "Countdown to Christmas" and the back of the stand is blank so you can make your own signs and sayings that fit your all year round countdown.

So when is the draw for this beautiful set?

Well seeing as how you cannot use these for Christmas this year... I decided to draw on NEW YEARS EVE so some lucky person can start their New Year with a gift from ME and my BEARS!

An Update and HINT to your FREE giveaway to come...

It's hard to get here lately! I am just coming in quickly to tell you all that I am still working out and as of yesterday also joined Weight Watchers online! I have started the NEW and improved PointsPlus plan and so far so good. I did very well yesterday. I have been on WW before with the old plan and actually occasionally return to the plan to get back to where I should be. I have used the plan in the past as a maintenance plan of sorts to keep me in check. This time I am hoping to use it as a lifestyle change and hopefully will be able to keep on TRACK forever. Anyway, one day at a time, one step at a time. A couple more weeks till I post another picture for you all and hopefully with some results. So far I am much stronger and able to keep up with the workouts and even switched to level 3.4 a couple times a week. I do level 1.2 of my workout for the rest of the time. Don't forget, for me there are NO days off! It's been tough but even when my Mum came for a visit I got those workouts in...

As a matter of fact, the last day my Mum was here she joined in and completed her first workout also! That was a really fun experience as I don't think my Mum and I have ever done anything athletic together.

Okay, so other than all that, I cannot believe it is only 9 days till the man in the big red suit arrives! WOW! I have a ton to do.

I bake every year for the Police and Fire Dept. here in our town and surprise them with a tray of goodies for Christmas Eve as they have to work, cannot be with their families and might get injured also. I do it to show how much we appreciate them. Normally I have the trays almost ready by now... I have not even started! YIKES. Plus it is my weekend to work this week! YIKES again!

I still have a ton of presents to wrap and even some to buy! I hope to get out there tonight for an hour! This is where it all starts to get fun! Hahahahaha

So Remember I mentioned that because I now have a following of over 100 I was going to offer a free giveaway... Well it is now ready I just have to photograph it for you all and I will post it in the next day or two!

You won't be able to use it for this year but you most certainly will for next year. It will keep you aware and on track. You can play with it and if you are a tiny person you can even learn from it! It's something you will touch every day and it's completely handmade!

I started my day today the way ever Halloween should start! With a large piece of Chocolate cake for breakfast!

The weather has been just wonderful today and it was the first day I was able to be at work the entire day! My back is slowly getting better but I'm not there yet. I have been working diligently on my new bears and am just simply thrilled with the new design. I cannot wait to share them with you!

Tomorrow is a new day and a day promised to be outstanding weather wise so I hope to get some photos taken and spend some much needed time outside.
