Seize the Sketch #20 {Some Changes}

Hello and welcome to Seize the Sketch. Lesley here! Before I get to this week's challenge we are saying farewell to a few crafty friends who have been on this team for a while.

First of all, a special thank you to Tangii Crain who stepped up and took over managing the blog for me while I was unwell in the winter. I could not have managed it without her and I appreciate how fun she is to work with and her killer organizational skills. She will be missed. Thank you, girl!

Amy Tsuruta, Jessica Esch and Sarah Gough are also stepping down from the team, to pursue other stamping opportunities! Amy and Jessica are both taking a temporary leave and congrats to Sarah on becoming the Creative Coordinator at Sugar Pea Designs! We are so proud of her! We will miss all three of these lovely ladies.

We do have some happy hellos! We are thrilled to welcome 4 new designers to our team!
Please welcome Sandy Mathis, Colleen Dietrich, Mona Pendleton & Marybeth Lopez. To learn more about these ladies...please visit our Sketchers page by clicking HERE.

This week we have a sketch by me, Lesley! The team has created such awesome samples to get you in the crafting mood! Come on and play along with my sketch this week! Remember ALL product is welcome!

Here is how to play along with us:
1. Create a card based on the sketch provided.
2. Link up your card to the linky...make sure you link up your post with the card in it and not your whole blog.
3. Comment on the other cards in the gallery...at least 5!
4. Combine us with as many other challenges as you would like...EXCEPT other sketches...because that wouldn't work! LOL!!!
5. Have fun!

Meet some new Design Team Members and a small Announcement!

Hello everyone! Wow, thank you so much for joining us for our past challenge and thank you again for Kraftin' Kimmies for being an amazing sponsor. We will be announcing the winner tomorrow one hour before the next sketch goes live!!!

I am happy to announce that we have added some designers to our team and we have made the decision to go sponsor free from this challenge onward.

I would like introduce you to our brand new designers/sketchers! Of course our "old" team will be staying on with us too except that Jen Nelson and I (Lesley) are taking a wee break.

Hello everyone! My name is Lori and I live in central Alberta, CANADA with my hubby and 2 teenage kiddos, Calvin and Kimberly. I started my paper crafting journey with SU! about 13 years ago and was a DEMO up until a couple years ago, when I decided I wanted to broaden my crafty-goodness horizons! I am also an avid crocheter and love to color! I'm so excited to be here at Seize the Sketch working with such amazingly talented ladies!

Hi my name is Jessica and I am from Buffalo, NY. I am married to a wonderful and very supportive husband and a stay at home mom to two very active boys, ages 12 and 10 . Between football for my oldest son and travel baseball with my youngest, I needed an activity for myself and I found a love of stamping and card making. You can always find me sharing projects on my blog~Chick-n-Scrap and I look forward to designing for Seize the Sketch and working with such a talented bunch of ladies!

Hi, I am Vicki.  I have been stamping for about 20 years and got started like a lot of other stampers; a SU party.  I kind of played around for a few years, but when I found SCS I really became addicted. Now, I stamp during most of my free time -- and I have even hired a housekeeper!  (Who has time to clean? Not me) I just adore this hobby!  I am looking forward to being on the Seize the Sketch Team and want to thank Lesley for the opportunity.

Hey!  I'm Tangii and I'm just giddy to be on this team!!  I have 3 amazing kiddo's plus my favorite, our blonde Lab and a fabulous Hubby that works really hard at being just as 'excited' about this creation as the last one, lol.    I LOVE crafting in general... and it's WAY cheaper than therapy ;) (shhhhhhhhh).  I am looking forward crafting with these UBER talented ladies!!!!

Hi all!  I'm Jen and I am super excited to be joining all these talented ladies on the Seize the Sketch design team.  I live in Bridgewater, Massachusetts and have been making cards for many, many years!  By day I work in a bank so at night I love to unwind and let my creative side loose in my stamp room!  I'm so thankful for Lesley for giving me this opportunity and I can't wait to see where this new creative journey leads me!

Hi, I'm Lori Tecler. I live in the Washington, D.C. suburbs with my adorable goldendoodle, Chloe the cutie puppy. She keeps me on my toes with her non-stop antics! During the day, I work in the early childhood office of a large school system, but at night, you can usually find me crafting away with the TV on in the background. I'm thrilled to be joining the fabulous team at Seize the Sketch.

Hi, I'm Jessi Fogan - I live in Nova Scotia, Canada in an itty-bitty house crammed full with my husband, teenage sons, three cats, and a dog. Both boys have autism, so although I'm a stay at home mom, I'm also a psychologist, occupational therapist, speech pathologist, teacher, and raving lunatic. I am so excited to be a part of this wonderfully talented group of artists!

We will see you tomorrow at 5am (PST) with a brand new sketch and lots of inspiration!

When did you begin paper crafting?

I had always been quite arty, but when I was about 14 mum took me to a local craft shop and bought me my first rubber stamp.... I still have it 20 years later. I've been hooked into some form of crafting ever since. I started blogging in Feb 2011 as a way to showcase what i had made... Since then I am more hooked than ever!

What are some of your favourite stamps?

I love stamps from the super cute Lili Of The Valley to more quirky stamps.  Some of my favourite brands are Clearly Besotted, Stampin Up, Uniko Studio and Magnum By Ladybyg Crafts Ink

What inks do you use and like the most?

Depending on what I am doing I cannot live without my Momento Tuxedo Black, Versafine in Onyx and my Stampin Up markers and my distress inks.  I also love to use promarkers.

What kind of challenges do you enjoy the most for card making?

My favourite have to be sketch and clean and simple challenges although I am getting into colours challenges too!

Here is what she shared!

What is the name of your blog?

Stacey's Stamping Stage

When did you begin paper crafting?

I've always loved paper-crafting...as a kid, I spent a great deal of time playing and journaling with paper and stickers.  It wasn't until 2000, when my first baby was born, though, that I discovered the love of scrapbooking!  Shortly after, I went to my first stamping party and was instantly hooked on the magic that happens when ink meets the paper!

What are some of your favourite stamps?

I have SO many favorite stamps, it is too difficult to name them:)

What inks do you use and like the most?

I use the heck out of Memento Tuxedo Black and Stampin' Up! inks, but love trying new brands!

What kind of challenges do you enjoy the most for card making?

If it weren't for challenges, I'm not sure I'd ever get a card made!  LOL!  I love playing sketch, color, and theme/inspiration challenges of all kinds!

Do you design for other teams or companies?

I am fortunate enough to design for Uniko Studio, The Alley Way Stamps, By LORi Designs, Colorbök/Making Memories, i {heart} papers, Seize the Birthday, Fusion, The Pink Elephant and recently started up my own challenge, Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

The sketches begin on Tuesday, August 6th!
