Listen To Your Art!

Hi everyone! Christmas is over and now is the time to start thinking about those New Year's resolutions. One that is always good and productive is keeping a journal but wouldn't it be more fun to keep track of your art journey?!

The new 'Hey Crafty Girl' paper collection from Simple Stories is full of vibrant and fabulous patterned papers and the cutest embellishments for any craft you can think of! I took all of these papers, along with the coordinating Simple Basics paper pack, and made this art journal that is perfect for documenting my crafty endeavors throughout the year!

The front and back covers, which are made from heavy weight chipboard and measure 6.24" x 8.75", feature four different patterns of the gorgeous paper. It was so hard to decide which ones to use! I loaded up the front cover with a combination of chipboard, stickers and Bits & Pieces and layered them over a charming 4x6 element card. I even tied on a sweet tag at the top!

Inside are 30 patterned paper and white card stock pages. Four of them are tabbed dividers which have been highlighted with some fun sentiment stickers to help keep me organized. They, along with all of the other pages, have been decorated with the phenomenally cute embellishments, stamps and stencil of the collection. There are pockets galore, journaling pages and plenty of room for photos or mementos! Below are some of my favorites in the journal!

If you are a crafter of any sort, this dazzling collection is for you! The possibilities to create are endless and the papers and every other adorable piece of this collection will definitely put a smile on your face! I'm so excited for the New Year to start documenting my art journey! If you want to make an art journal of your own, please visit my YouTube channel for a tutorial and look through the entire journal or you can click on the video below!

Boo To You!

Hi everyone! We might be in the thick of Summer but it is not too early to start getting those paper crafted Halloween albums and decorations started. Especially since Simple Stories has some of the cutest holiday paper collections ready for you! The Say Cheese Halloween collection is full of bright magical colors and so many bewitching patterns. Plus this collection has the happy kids dressed up in their most adorable costumes along with not so scary pumpkins, ghosts and spiders. All in all, this collection will add so much fun to any holiday project!

This sweet wallet mini album is perfect for holding lots of Halloween memories and it has lots of pockets and interactive elements! When closed, it measures 8.5" x 4.25" but it opens up to reveal lots of openings and pockets like any great wallet.

The bottom section has its own 'credit card' slots that holds four of the 3x4 journal cards and a gusseted pocket that holds 4x6 journal cards. All have been decorated and embellished with the charming stickers and bits & pieces.

The center section folds out on both sides to reveal several photo spots including a couple of small flip out sections and a pocket! The large center holds another photo flip that showcases the super cute 4x6 journal cards with photo holders on the backs.

This diagram shows you the dimensions I used when making this mini album. I used 8.5" x 11" card stock for the base of the album and then covered the sections with the patterned paper along with the accessories of the collection. Check out the walk through with basic instructions on making your own photo wallet like this one on my YouTube channel or watch the video below!

Daddy Caddy!

Hi everyone! Father's Day may be over but if you are like me, you have some leftovers of the paper collection you used for cards and other Father's Day crafts. Everybody could use a super cute tool caddy for their desk or workbench and I have used my extra paper scraps to make this winning tool caddy that is made even more useful with a lazy susan base underneath so it easily turns!

The lazy susan base, which is four inches square, was bought on Amazon. There are other sizes available as well but I thought this would be a great size for the caddy. The sides and bottom of the caddy were put together from heavy chipboard before being covered in the bold and bright patterned papers from the Simple Stories 'Dad Life' paper collection.

The caddy holder is three inches square and almost four inches tall which is plenty big to hold a large assortment of tools. After covering the chipboard sides with the playful patterned paper, I layered on a couple of picture frames along with the charming shape and sentiment stickers. I used lots of foam adhesive too, for extra dimension!

For added pizazz, I topped off the base with colorful brads and added in matching enamel dots on some of the embellishments. The frames, on two sides of the caddy, are open at the top so the pictures can easily be slipped out and changed for lots of variety.

This caddy is not only adorable but useful as well. Any dad would love to be able to look at and use this every day! You can see this caddy in action and also check out how to make one of your own on my YouTube channel!

Happy Spring!

Hi everyone! I don't know about your neck of the woods but here in Colorado we still had snow a few days ago! I know that Spring is really on the way but I decided to hurry it up a bit and make a cute mini! The Simple Stories 'Springtime' simple kit is perfect with cheerful and bright floral and gingham patterns!

I made this mini in a travelers notebook style but it is really just for photos. I created three tabbed file folders to fit inside the mini and there is another folder in each of those. They have all been embellished with cute frames and photo corners to hold pictures in style!

The stickers included in this collection are fantastic for Spring and Summer crafts and include lots of floral sprays, whimsical insects and sweet sentiments. You will have no trouble making a fun and colorful project with this collection!

I have a tutorial over at my YouTube channel so you can make one of these amazing minis for yourself. Check it out and see this cute mini in all of its great detail!

Beautiful Botanicals!

Hi everyone! I am so excited to share my newest project with you! I made this travel folio a while back and got so many requests to do a tutorial that I just had to make another. I used a different paper collection and made a few minor changes to the folio and it is stunning!

The paper collection used for this fabulous folio is the Simple Stories 'Simple Vintage Botanicals' paper collection. Oh em gee, this collection is so gorgeous and lush, it's like being transported to a breathtaking garden full of beautiful butterflies and birds and all of the most vibrant colors of the earth! Plus this collection has so much to choose from- paper, stickers galore, chipboard, ephemera and more and there is even a clear stamp set to go with it!

This amazing book, which can be filled with photos, mementos or journaling, measures 5.25" by 7.75" when closed but the best part is when you open it up to see all of the pages and pockets inside! The cover of the book opens up to reveal pockets on both sides and another whole center section that has its own surprises. There is even a small notebook that is perfect for writing or drawing!

There are photo flips and frames and even a pocket page waiting to be filled with your favorite memories and there are some hidden pockets too that give you more room for precious mementos. I could go on and on about this amazing folio but the pictures show more detail than I could explain.

Snow Day Fun!

Ok so we're in the cold, seemingly endless, days of Winter. What better way to cheer yourself up than to get into your craft room and make a bright and fun season inspired project!

The 'Freezin' Season' paper collection by Simple Stories will definitely give you chills but in the best way! Adorable characters and wintery images in pretty pastel colors are just the cure for a snow day! This sweet zig zag mini scrapbook is just waiting to be filled with playful pictures and mementos of a winter wonderland!

I made this album using two sheets of 8.5"x11' card stock and then covered each page with the delightful and charming patterned papers of the collection. I also used lots of the paper along with journaling cards to create oodles of pockets, flaps, tags and inserts that have been decorated and embellished with the darling and colorful stickers, chipboard and Bits & Pieces!

All in all, there were nine pages to fill with this entertainingly snowy collection and I had 'snow' much fun adorning each page! Here is a closer look at the front sides of the pages:

And a closer look at the equally adorable back side pages!

Don't let Winter get you down! Grab this collection to show the coldest season just how much fun it can be!! There is a short tutorial on my YouTube channel if you want to make one of these zig zag minis of your own or just click on the video below!

Love Letter Mini!

Hi everyone! I know Christmas has just passed and I'm sure you are ready for a break from all of the craziness....but it's never a bad thing to be prepared for the next holiday! I'm here to give you some gorgeous inspiration for the holiday of love- Valentine's Day!

Since Valentine's Day is all about love I was inspired to create a sweet love letter mini scrapbook that can be filled with pictures, letters, mementos and sweet messages to your sweetheart. It's a pretty standard mini album on the outside- chipboard covers and spiral bound- but there are lots of adorable surprises on the inside!

Between the two chipboard covers is an accordion flap that holds eight envelopes and includes a couple of pockets and the beautiful and romantically themed 'Kissing Booth' collection by Simple Stories is the perfect way to show off love and devotion! There are gorgeous patterns with traditional pinks and reds along with other bright colors and the sentiments will definitely put a smile on your face!

I made a variety of envelope sizes and pockets as well as an interactive pull-out made with a strip of the 3x4 journal cards. There are plenty of pages for photos and the envelopes can be filled with mementos or love letters.

Now you can create your own special love letter mini album for that special person in your life or even as a gift for a special couple!

You can also visit my YouTube channel for a closer look at this mini and get more inspiration or watch the video below! Happy New Years and Happy Valentine's Day!
