My biggest finish this week took me years to complete.
Sure, this looks like a wall of blocks and flimsies,
but look closely at what's behind all that busyness.
It's my new design wall,
made with a quick trip to the discount fabric store
to buy 2.2 metres of 120 inch wide (3 metres)
poly/cotton batting.
I've been wanting to do this for a long time,
and not only because I could cover up the the ugly wallpaper underneath.
I did the unthinkable -- I simply stapled the batting to the wall behind it.
It's an old house with plaster walls,
and when we decide to strip the wallpaper and paint the walls,
we're going to have to patch anyway.
I now have a floor-to-ceiling design wall 12 feet wide, for about $25.
I've got the log cabin blues
machine pieced and quilted
36 by 36 inches
I was inspired to finish another old project.
I made this top last fall from a pass-along log cabin block
and lots of leftover blues.
Two hours of quilting and an evening of hand stitching the binding,
and now it's a completed baby quilt
I left this quilt so long mushrooms sprouted on the back!
I like the look of it against the grass
which is looking lush (and long) after two days of rain.
I'm linking up with other Friday finishers:
