My Happy Place

Today I am scrapping my happy place.
For those of you who know me well, you know it's Disney, Florida.

The Say Cheese 11 from Simple Stories has my name all over it.
So of course I'm using this collection for my LO.

I have various photos and tips over on Papermaze today.
See here.

Where's your happy place???

Trip Planning Again

Yes, I'm at it again.

This time we are planning Orlando in August 2017 as a big family trip.
Mum and her hubby, my brother and my sister and her family.

We had our first big family meeting at the weekend to start discussing dates etc..
Me being chief planner, I put holiday planning packs together.

I made money saving pots, planning journals and added Minnie Mouse Pencil Cases fully of cute stationery, a Virgin Holidays brochure and an info pack that I put together myself.

Over on Papermaze today I have all the details of how I made these money saving pot.

And these fun planning journals.

I had so much fun making them : )
I do have more photos, but blogger just isn't playing fair today and I'm giving up trying now.
They are on the Papermaze blog though if you click the link above.

Please go and take a peek.
Thanks xx

My Return to Project Life

When I started Project Life a couple of years ago I promised myself that I wouldn't get hung up on week numbers and dates.
If I did it great and if I didn't then I would just miss a week or two....but that turned to 3 and then 4 and then a few more.
Six months later and I'm back to it again.
For so long I keep saying to myself that I must get my album out again.
So I did last week and I'm back to it again.

I've made a couple of weeks and I'm happy to be back.

I made this page with some Simple Stories papers and stickers from Papermaze.

DIY and Free P&P

You can always tell when I'm snowed under with work and life, my blog gets neglected.
I'm trying to catch up a little today.
I have lots of work deadlines these next 2 weeks. Big deadlines, so I must get all my scrappy bits and pieces sorted today.

I've just put a blog post together for Papermaze today.
I've used the DIY collection from Simple Stories.
I love how colourful this range is.

I also used one of the new Crafters Workshop Stencils. Art Deco Leaves.
Think this is going to be one of my favourites.

So I have a full post about this layout over at Papermaze here, which includes the little story about why I look like I'm enjoying myself more than Ade does : )
And I also wanted to let you know that Papermaze are having a free postage and packing weekend here.

Back to scrapbooking for me now followed by work.
Who says that Sundays are rest days????

Life's just one big Adventure

It certainly is right now.
Oh how things have changed these recent months.
The word this month over at 'OLW' is 'adventure'.

When I made this LO a few weeks ago, I was really struggling. The kids were off for Easter for 3 weeks and I was also trying to work. I found these school holidays harder than any other before. Surely it's supposed to get easier as they got older?
Instead I was battling with Louis who was going from one device to the next, Hollie has boyfriend troubles on and off, messy bedrooms, lazy teens not wanting to help around the house, being a taxi service...oh the joys!! Plus to top that with Ade working from home it's even harder. Trying to keep a few 12yr old boys quiet whilst Ade's on a conference call (Ade's office is opposite Louis' room upstairs).
It's been really really hard.
But at the same time, now they are older we do have such a laugh together. I love that we all enjoy the say comedies on TV. We do have very similar sense of humours. We all love our movies and still enjoy days out.

This photo was taken in London on an inset day at the start of the school break. We went in to London for the day and enjoyed the Southbank. We did the London Aquarium, had a coffee & cake treat, wandered down to the the Tate Gallery (Art) and had Sushi before getting the train back home.
We love the Southbank. So much to see. There were these silly mirrors along the wall so we had some fun posing.
So life isn't all bad, just changing.

Please take a look at what the others created on the OLW team here and use the word 'adventure to inspire you too. You can upload your own creation here. It doesn't have to be a LO as you will see from the teams work. You have until 15th May to play.
Enjoy!!!

OLW - Dream - (with mega give-away)

I have a little treat for you today.
Are you ready??

For those of you who follow the OLW challenge blog. You may have noticed that Februarys challenge got missed. Ronda hasn't been well for a while, but the good news is that she is back : )
Not only is she back but she's back with prizes.

We are making up for lost time at OLW. Not only have we got a challenge for you, but we now have 2 challenges plus prizes.  Each of us on the team is doing a give away. Cool eh?!
All you need to do is play along with us.
You can see the actual challenge on the OLW blog here.
You just need to be inspired by the 'one little word' and upload your LO/Project to the OLW blog. Easy!

So the words are: DREAM & CALM

I'll start with Dream.
I got sent some very lovely Simple Stories paper from a very sweet friend this month and knew instantly it was going to be a mini book.
I've now made a Disney Dream Book.  Everything we dream for, for our 2014 trip (207 days to go!!)
I'm so pleased with this.

It's quite a tall mini book and something I will continue to fill in these next few months before we go. These Simple Stories - Say Cheese papers are just so perfect!!

I'd had some personalised ribbon printed as a fun family gift at Christmas. At has 'The Abbott-Saunders Family printed on in Disney font with Mickey Heads. So I used some of this on the book.

The book is full of layers, all the pages are different sizes with something fun on every page.

Some favourite photos from the previous 2012 trip.

I used my new Mickey Punch quite a bit on this : )

We plan to be here on the first morning of our trip in October.
We are hoping to book breakfast with Winnie the Pooh which will give us early entry in to Magic Kingdom.

Everything is now booked and paid for. I've documented everything that has been booked.

Some journaling of our dreams for this trip.

Yay!! My Mickey Dreams Book!!!

And now for my Feb project :Calm
This was a little art therapy when things were a little crazy last month.

We'd love you to play along.  Just add your word inspired work related to Dream, Calm or both to OLW here.
Please leave a comment here when you have played and I will pick one lucky winner who will win this little lot.
There are 6 Cocoa Daisy Stamps plus Alpha Stickers, Lots of Journal Tags & Stickers, Wood Veneer, Doilees & some Chic Tags Goodies.

All the other OLW team members have give-ways too, so take a look here.
I hope you feel inspired.

Thanks for stopping by and good luck xxx

Adding a Little Bit of Sunshine

Doesn't a little bit of sunshine make such a big difference?

I didn't feel sad sending Louis off to school in the rain. (he never wants a lift anymore)
I didn't feel guilty about sending Hollie off to school in the rain and then changing my mind and driving her to school with my still wet hair.
I didn't need a jacket to go out today.
It was so good to have to wear sunglasses when driving this morning.
It just lifts your mood.

Maybe that's why I love adding sunshine to my LO's so much.
Because it makes me feel happy.

I made this one for Papermaze earlier on in the month when I did the weekend of masking.
There's a step by step on their blog here if you want to see.

Happy Days!!

A Special Mini Book

My Dad was 60 on Sunday.
Unfortunately we couldn't celebrate with him as we are in sunny England and he lives in Indiana in the US. But we did throw him a surprise party when we was over in August including a 'Happy Almost 60 Birthday' cake. Fully personalised : )

I did make him this mini book using Simple Stories - The Daily Grind to send over. Another 'unfortunately...it still hasn't arrived : (

I used a mix of the papers and sticker sheets and added a few of the chipboard stickers too.

There are lots more details, photos and links to buy the materials on the Papermaze blog here.

Thanks for stopping by today xxx

Scrap365 Blog Hop

We are getting your scrapping New Year off to a flying start!!!

This month we are teaming up with Finnabair and her amazing DT from Mixed Media Place.

One of the things that we are very conscious of here at Scrap365 HQ is that if you are new to scrapping it can be really overwhelming with the choice of products to use and the host of styles to emulate….the same could be said if you’re experienced!!

So we have decided that 2014 is the year to get BACK to BASICS!! It doesn’t matter if you have been scrapping for ten years or ten days...you will be sure to learn something new along the way!

Finn has very kindly donated a marvellous prize to either add to your stash or to get you started.

All you need to do to be in with a shot of the prize is follow Scrap365 and Mixed Media Place blogs. Like us both on Facebook and leave a message here telling us which layout principle you are going to try! We would love to see your take on the Principles so be sure to upload them to our Facebook page :)

Our January Blog Hop is all about layout principles. I found this fabulous prompt on Pinterest, courtesy of SuzyQ Scraps http://suzyqscraps.com/. It really sums up the beginnings of every layout.

I chose to go with the Alignment. Choosing a photo and printing it off 2 further times.

I've also made one with the 3 photos, but using different photos.
I'm going to be totally honest here and say, I have actually added this LO since posting this blog hop post this morning. I had this second LO ready, but I just wasn't happy with it. I didn't feel happy with adding it to my post. It's been sat on my desk for some time now (it was actually started before Christmas) but I just couldn't move forward with it and it just didn't look finished.
So this morning I've taken some time and I decided that I wouldn't let this LO get the better of me.

I removed the original title which was just 'Hats' where 'Disney' now is and added an Extra long title.
I like a good amount of balance on my pages and I needed to balance out my title by using the same colours top and bottom. I stuck to a colour combo of red, aqua and navy.
I also used a Simple Stories sticker sheet - Urban Traveler and added the stickers around the edges.
I now feel so much happier with this LO and it finally feels finished.

My sweet friend Alexa gave me some goodies when she visited me recently. The fabric Studio Calico cameras were amongst the goodies. I inked them in blue and added some red pen to them.

These stickers really did the trick and saved this LO.

So there you have it, the story of the saved LO.
Am I the only one that has moments like these???

Don't forget to leave your comments on the Scrap365 Blog when you get back to the beginning and follow the instructions to be in for a chance to win that gorgeous prize! And maybe you could leave some blog love on the DT blogs along the way.

Here is the full blog list.

Thanks so much for playing along with us.
Have funxxx
