~ Pleasant Words ~

Good Monday morning!  It has been an interesting few days here at Ulrich central.  After seven years, hubs and I shipped all but one of our sheep for sale.  I'm a bit melancholy.  As much trouble as they were, I already miss them!  We kept one lone male lamb.  We will raise him and let him go to his new home next year.  His plaintive bleats as he searches for the flock that is no more, breaks my heart.  It is difficult to wander through life without direction, void of compass or map.  I am so thankful I serve a risen Savior who provides comfort and guidance.  For without Him, I would wander...  seeking something but not knowing what...

Today's card featuring a past set from Our Daily Bread Designs, Bee Happy...

Products you see...

G520 - BEE HAPPY

CSBD34 - ZINNIA & LEAVES DIES

CSBD45 - CIRCLE ORNAMENT DIES

CSBD57 - ASTER DIES

CSBD33 - FANCY FOLIAGE DIES

My card base measures 4.25 x 5 inches and is made with smooth black card stock.  I added a slightly smaller white mat and finished with a honeycomb embossed gold layer.  I used the Circle Ornament Dies to create my cut out layers for the sentiment.  I added a bit of greenery from the Fancy Foliage Die with some white blossoms created from the Asters and Leaves Die.  I added a bit of black micro beads in acrylic glue to each center.  The bee, (Zinnia set) has just a bit of Copic color and some diamond glitter embellished wings.  This is such a happy card, don't you think?

Until next time...

Blessings...

A Look Back at ODBD's March Release

Today we are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs' March Release.  Here is the card I created for today using Sweeter Than Honey, Zinnia, Beautiful Borders Die (an older release), Zinnia and Leaves Die and the new Blooming Garden Paper Collection

Today's card incorporated a sketch along with two coordinating DP's from the new Blooming Gardens Paper Collection.  The card base is a warm yellow with a double layer of ecru and pink card stock.  A lacy die cut (Beautiful Borders Die) rests under the skewed panel with sentiment.  I colored the honey jar with Copics and after fussy cutting added a bit of pink and white Baker's twine.  The honey bees came from the Zinnia and Bee Happy sets.  The Zinnia set has a coordinating Zinnia and Leaves Die set which makes cutting the bee a breeze.  But to show the versatility, I opted to hand cut the one from the Bee Happy set.  A bit of dimensional foam and some glitter glue...  so FUN!

Here's the ODBD products I used...

FS369 ~ Blue Hawaii ~

Happy Saturday!  It is a beautiful day here in the bluegrass state.  I took the opportunity to mop my floors, do some grocery shopping and clean my car!  And even though I am just a little tired, it was well worth it!  I hope this day finds you doing the things that matter to you.

Today I am sharing a card I created to for the Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoast.  I used a simple blue and white color scheme, embossing the focal mat with a "Hawaiian" themed embossing folder..."  Now, if I were only soaking up the sun on the beautiful beaches there...  **sigh**

I inked the sentiment in Memento's Danube Blue and framed the sentiment panel with some lovely blossoms from my stash.  The ladybug stamp may be found in this month's Our Daily Bread Designs release, Zinnia.  And the lovely scripture may be found in ODBD's Bee Happy set.  Aren't they yummy???

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time...

Blessings!!!!

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Designs' March Release and Blog Hop!

Good morning!  Welcome to Our Daily Bread Designs'  March release!  I am SO excited to share this month's release with you!  If you are in the mood for spring (and who isn't????) this is the perfect release for you!  Flowers, sweet sentiments and bees, oh my!

And to make browsing our design teams' projects even more special, three winners will be randomly chosen from the comments left on the designers' blogs.  The winners will receive a $25 gift certificate to the ODBD Store, to be used toward the purchase of Our Daily Bread Designs' stamps.  You have until March 2, 2014 at 9PM EST to make  your comments!  The winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on March 3rd, so be sure to check the ODBD Blog to see if you are a winner!

So on to the projects I have for you including one featuring a new background die, Daisy Chain...

I used gold for the card base with a layer of white and black.  I topped those with the new Daisy Chain Background die cut.  I stamped the sentiment on white and framed it with the honey jar and wand stamped by masking the two together.  Each were colored with Copics and then fussy cut.  I added a bit of dimensional glaze to the jar for added depth.  The bee (found on the Zinnia set) was die cut with the coordinating Zinnia and Leaves Die.  A little dab of glitter glue makes my little bee shine!

And the products you see here...

And my second project, a gate fold card featuring an image from Zinnia and sentiment from Bee Happy on the outside (along with beautiful papers from ODBD's Blooming Garden Papers Collection...)

and an image with sentiment from Bee Happy on the inside...

The beautiful papers on this card are also from ODBD.  The outside has a few layers of die cut goodness including the new
Zinnia and Leaves Die for the sentiment matting and bee die plus a few oldies, like the Circle Ornaments Die (sentiment panel) and Fancy Foliage Die.  The base for this card is black card stock with kraft matting under all of the ODBD papers.  And I added glitter glue to this little bee's wings too!  :-)

So here's a peek at the other items I used...
