Hello! I'm SO HAPPY to share this new release from Peachy Keen Stamps! The new July 2017 is so so so so awesome! Eek! Ok, I've calmed down. :) Let's start with this mermaid. How adorable is she? I stamped her and her sweet fishy friends {also in this set!} and colored them with my Copics. I made the background with distress ink and water. I love her. Swoon.

Attention world! THERE IS A SAILOR HAT IN THIS SET!!! I shall now commence to putting sailor hats on ALL THE THINGS! :) Anyhoo, is this not the cutest sea turtle you've ever seen?! I colored him with my Copics. I made the background with distress inks and stencils. Oh, and in "super ridiculously proud Aunt news", my nephew Zach joined the United States Navy this week! ♥ I sent this card to him. ♥

Ok, my last card for today is a funny one! I made this super awesome pirate ride on the sea turtle! Eek! :) To make this happen I cut off his leg and peg leg {he didn't scream} and positioned them the way I wanted. Then I cut out the turtle's head {again, no screaming} and popped it up. I colored the images with my Copics, and did the background with distress inks and a cloud stencil...even for the water. {just flip it!} :) That punny greeting is also in the new July 2017 set :)

Ok, now onto my other news for today. I did my first crafty broadcast on Periscope the other day. I was super nervous, but everyone was so nice and supportive! I ended up having lots of fun. So much so that I was on for almost an hour and a half! Oops. HA! Soooooo...I'm going to be going LIVE tonight at 6pm EST {5 CST, 4 MST, 3 PST} :) I'll be showing how to mask and color a little beach scene using the new July 2017 set from Peachy Keen Stamps. I hope you'll get the Periscope App for your phone, or you can watch on your computer HERE. Follow me @NavyWifeScraps to be sure to catch the notification. So, come hang out and chat with me. OH, and you could WIN a $50 Gift Certificate to Peachy Keen Stamps just for watching and interacting! OH, and Kathy "The Peachy Queen" Herself will be there chatting! YAY! {pssst...and there may be another prize up for grabs ;) }

MCT Fave stamp of the month

Hello! It's time for another Favorite Stamp Of The Month from MyCreativeTime. This month the You're My Hero set is featured. I used it for my greeting on this super bright card. :) I used the Mosaic Stars Stencil from SimonSaysStamp. I blended on a rainbow of neon Hero Arts inks. Then I cut them out and glued them where I wanted. To finish, I added glossy accents to make them look like little tiles.

Just Because

Hiya! Here's my card inspired by day 2 of Watercolor For Card Makers at OnlineCardClasses. I made a background with seedless preserves and picked raspberry distress inks and water. Lots of water. :) I used the same inks to sponge over a stencil on the card base. I used the Believe In Your Dreams set by MyCreativeTime for the feather and the greeting. I finished it off with some sequins.

I hope you're having a great week so far. :)

MCT Trending Now- Nautical

Hiya! We're exploring the nautical trend today at MyCreativeTime. I used the Anchors And Hearts Dies by MyCreativeTime. I cut the anchor out of Post It Paper to make a mask. I inked over a chevron stencil to create the pattern. Then I peeled up the mask, and VOILA! A patterned anchor! Easy peasy! I used the Stitched Rectangular Frames And More Dies to cut the panel.

MCT Trending Now

Hiya! It's Trending Now Thursday at MyCreativeTime. Today we used our dies to create a stencil. I used the Stitched Square Speech Bubble Dies to make a stencil. I inked over my stencil with butter bar, orange soda, and tide pool Hero Arts shadow inks. Before removing the stencil, I used a black marker to outline the bubbles. I stamped and colored the robot from the Best Bots Forever set with my copics. I added wink of stella and glossy accents to parts of the robot. The "gear up, it's your day" greeting is from the Best Bots Forever set. The "Birthday wishes just for you" greeting is from the It's All About You set. The "fun" greeting is from the Things I Love set.

You're such a deer

Hiya! It's day 3 of Clean And Simple 4 class at OnlineCardClasses. My card today was inspired by the immensely talented Julie Ebersole. I don't have the supplies needed to do the technique she showed, so instead I just used her pretty card as inspiration. I used the same Distress Ink colors as her...picked raspberry, ripe persimmon, and mustard seed. Such a pretty color combo! I inked over THIS stencil, and then splattered ink as well. I used my Cricut Explore to cut the deer with a THIS svg file from Miss Kate Cuttables
I inked the deer with tarnished brass distress stain. The greeting is from the Oh Deer set from MyCreativeTime. To finish, I added a few gold sequins. :)

I hope you're having a wonderful week!

Try Me Tuesday-Make your own stencil

Hello! It's Try Me Tuesday over at MyCreativeTime, and today we made our own stencils using MyCreativeTime dies. I made my stencil using the Stitched Cartoon Clouds dies. I die cut them from acetate. I used White Embossing Paste over it. I put it on thick to get very textured clouds. I cut vellum tags with the Stitched Round Tab, Arrow, And Tag Dies
I white heat embossed the greeting from the It's All About You set. I added some Silver Sparkle Twine and a bunch of sequins to finish it off. Oh, forgot to mention, I made the card base and panel with the fabulous Stitched Rectangular Frames And More die set.

MCT Sneaks Day 3

Hiya! Today is day 3 of sneaks for MyCreativeTime. Today we are sneaking 3 new sets... Bee Happy, Stitched Bees & Beehive Dies, and Stitched Honey Comb Dies. I started by using the Stitched Honey Comb Dies to make a stencil. I used my white embossing paste and added a few drops of  scattered straw and wild honey distress reinkers to make it yellow.
I cut out the bee with the Stitched Bees and Beehive Dies. The Bee and sentiment are from the Bee Happy set. I did a little paper piecing on the bee.

I used the On The Strip set from NeatAndTangled to stamp the stripes on the sides. The sentiment is from the Everyday Sayings set by Hero Arts.

MCT Inspiration Wednesday

Hello! It's Inspiration Wednesday over at MyCreativeTime. Today is the day we make something that was inspired by something. I was SUPER inspired taking the Stenciled class at OnlineCardClasses. So, I busted out a stencil and got inky. :) I first inked up this stencil with lemon yellow shadow ink. Then I shifted the stencil over slightly and inked it again with bubble gum shadow ink. This ends up making 3 colors {orange-ish in the middle}. And I then {of course} turned the panel into a shaker. ;) I stamped the greeting from the Fun Variety On The Inside And Out set from MyCreativeTime

Fun with Stencils :)

Hiya! Today was the first day of the Stenciled class over at OnlineCardClasses. It was a great first day! So I had to do my "homework". ;) I busted out the Falling Stars Stencil from SimonSaysStamp. I inked it up with a rainbow of Hero Arts Shadow Inks. I then {of course} turned it into a shaker. I used the 3 Stitched Stars die from MyCreativeTime to cut my window. Then I filled that puppy up with a rainbow of sequins. :)
I stamped the greeting from the Polka Dot Surprise set from MyCreativeTime. I filled in the polka dots with a black pen to make the greeting a little more bold so it would stand out more. Love stretching stamps!

I hope you're having a fabulous {and inky} day.
