Happy Birthday dimensional flower card | Cut Cardstock DT

Good morning everyone!! How are you?? Well I wanted to share a quick but oh so pretty card with you today that I made for Cut Cardstock. I wasn't sure where I was going with this card at first, or that it was even going to be a card. I had pulled some flower dies and wanted to play with them so I did. I wasnt sure what I was going to do, like i said, so I cut the flowers out with white cardstock, man I was confused with it too to be honest lol. I stacked it together and found out how it was supposed to stack and then marked on the backs of each piece.

I pulled out my saltwater taffy distress oxide and started blending on the floral pieces from the outside in. After I got the flower pieces the way i liked, I added a little green to the leafs and a but of 2 different yellows to the center and went to using my roller tool to make the sides stick up some.

I grabbed some white cardstock and cut it down to a 4x5 1/4, ran it through my sizzix with an embossing folder, then again with a circle die to cut a place out for my flower. Once I had that, everything was ready except I needed a card base. So I ran through all the colors I had and thought the Surf cardstock looked great. There was a great contrast and it made the flower pop.

Happy Birthday/Shimmerz DT

Good morning everyone!! I hope your Valentine's Day was great!!

Earlier this week I shared this layout on my instagram for the Shimmerz Paints design team and I thought I would share here on my blog too!! 

I have had a rough couple of months and am happy to be back to where I can blog a bit more. Sick kids, hospitals and more, but everyone is healthy now!!

I started my layout with a white cardstock background, started cutting my paper strips and layering them at the top of my page and to the bottom right. As you can see I didn't end my layout with a white background though! lol

I was using the Make your mark collection from Bella Blvd. and of course I have the perfect Shimmerz that will match this collection, so I decided to cut different sized hearts out of the white cardstock I was going to use for the background and use the hearts as a transfer. I sprayed one heart with a spritz-Cotton Candy and the other with a Coloringz-Well blue me down. 

After I sprayed the large heart, I flipped it over and rubbed it on my paper to transfer the spray. I did the same with the little heart and let them dry.

After I let my background dry, I started to lay down the strips I had started with on the white background . I added in little flowers, and omg the flowers in this collection are so cute! But I layered them in and popped a few hearts here and there, I wanted some more gold added in and those hearts were perfect for adding some more shine to my layout!

Since this layout was of the day my youngest daughter was born, I thought the Happy birthday banner piece worked perfect, cause it was her birth-day. Everything layered in perfectly, but I still wanted a little more gold, so I grabbed my Inklingz-Miner,Miner49er and added little dots of it around my layout and that finished this layout for me!!
