Treasured Friends Forever Award

If it were not for Kyra at With A Russian/Dutch heart I don't know what I would do. She has showered me with another award!

This is the Treasured Friends Forever Award. The rules are simple: pass it on to five people who do not already have it.

1. The first person I am passing it on to is my very dear friend from work, Vanessa. She is just starting out in paper scrapping and she doesn't have a digital scrapbooking blog, but she does have a website. So go visit her at Vee Nice Make Up. She has been my ture friend during all these hard months for me.

2. The second person I am giving this award to is Jean at Dream Keepers Random Thoughts. Thank you for all the encouragement concerning my designs and also for your words of support about your own relationship.

3. Next I will pass this award to Tracy at Tracy's Scraps because she was the one who helped me get started with this blog by helping me (online) learn how to fill in a template.

4. Deborah at Misfit Princess gets this award as well. I always send her awards I get because she is very dear to me. She scrapped all 50 of my templates in the State Template Series. Maybe I should put her in my will as well!

5. And the fifth person I am passing this award to is IkeaGoddess at Scrapping With IkeaGoddess for always including my freebies in her wonderful list.

Houston Template is Freebie For Monday

For all of you Texans (or wanna be Texans) here is the Houston Template. The Texas Template was by far the most popular of my State Template Series templates so I am sure this template will be popular too.

I used an old wild west "wanted poster" as the background for this template. To get the faded paper look you can go to effects>texture effects>sculpture>and pick a parchment style pattern to make the paper look authenic. If you don't have a pattern like that, here is a parchment paper clipart that you can save to your patterns folder either in Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop.

It's really easy to use this particular effect and if the paper is right it will show the different shades of the wanted poster. If your paper is too "busy" (has too many crinkles in it) then it might not let the darker area of the background show against the lighter area. If this happens, choose another pattern and try again.

New Orleans Template Freebie

Here is the New Orleans Template as today's digital scrapbooking freebie. This template contains an overlay that can be adjusted as you like or you can leave it as it is.

There isn't a journaling space on this template because the overlay was so "busy" I thought it might get lost on the background. You can add journaling if you would like or just let the picture speak for itself. You don't always have to have writing on your designs.

Maybe you don't remember when or exactly where your New Orleans pictures was taken (too much Mardi Gras perhaps?!) LOL

Don't forget the Louisiana Template from my State template Series!

Your Layouts!

Guess who is working hard again designing layouts using my State Template Series templates?!?

Right! It is Deborah at Misfit Princess!

Also check out her Alphabet Dog Series Part 1 and Part 2. If you are a dog lover you HAVE to see these!

Today: Cedar City (UT) Template Freebie

I had quite a few very nice comments on my Concord (NH) Template yesterday. I'm glad so many people can use it. Some of these city templates aren't getting many downloads. But that's ok because the people who ARE downloading them are very appreciative!

Today's digital scrapbooking freebie is a little place called Cedar City in Utah. This is the template I had a little trouble finding a theme for. I decided on the city sign (because lots of people take their photos beside city and state signs.)

Here is the Cedar City (UT) Template. Also download my Utah Template which was offered awhile ago in my State Template Series.

Thanks for all your requests and comments. Only a handful more of these city templates and then I have another series to offer. But, this time it isn't templates. Keep your eyes open for it in about 2 weeks! I have some other stuff to offer first.

Concord (NH) Template Freebie

Here is another smaller city that was requested along with the larger cities for my Major Cities of the World Template Series.

Remember, it IS a major city if it has significance to you or your loved ones.

I was happy to design the smaller cities along with the larger ones. I enjoy giving people what they ask for. So here is the Concord (NH) Template.

Concord has some beautiful Victorian style homes, as well as some buildings dating back to the 1700's.

Don't forget my New Hampshire Template from my State Template Series.

Taos Template Freebie

Taos is a ski resort community in New Mexico. This template was requested along with yesterday's Albuquerque template.

I am not familair with the area at all and I am not a skier so I can't really comment on Taos other than to say the photos I saw on line are beautiful.

There are many other things besides skiing in Taos. Just looking at the website above I had to bookmark the page as a possible travel destination even though I don't ski!

You can download the Taos Template here.

Template Freebie: Albuquerque

Good morning. Well, the main thing I learned about this city while desiging the Albuquerque Template was that I had no idea how to spell it! Wow!

Check out my New Mexico Template from my State Template Series. It will go well with this template if you need to make more than one layout with your pictures.

Alberqerque brings back memories of 1983 when I was at Peace College in Raleigh, NC watching the NC State Wolfpack pick its way thru the NCAA tournament. I remember watching games by myself in the basement rec room of my dorm while I did laundry.

I also remember going out to the big college hangout across the street from NC State's campus the night of the finals. The Final Four of 1983 was held in Albuquerque, NM. NC State was playing Houston for the championship.

This year was the 25th anniversay of NC State winning that championship. I remember it like it was just yesterday!

Phoenix Template Freebie 'Rises Up!'

Ok, corny title but after months and months of writing blog entires every single day I am coming up a little dry as far as creatively describing what I am offering! LOL

The good news is I've spent a few hours the last couple of days downloading some public domain clipart that I can use for my designs. Since I am not very artistc in the drawing sense, I rely on things I can find that are free for people to use. I try to make sure I am not pirating anything.

If you ever think something I am using is copyrighted or not for public use please use the email link under my profile and send me a private note so I can check out what you say. I really don't want to take what isn't offered for general use.

Ok, on to the digital scrapbooking freebie of the day here at Scrapping 'Til Dawn. (I hope Google is picking up on all this phrasing!!!)

Today is the Phoenix Template. Also take a look at my Arizona Template from my State Template Series.

Digital Scrapbooking Freebie: Salt Lake City Template

Friday again already! YEAH! I guess when you keep really busy the days just fly by!

I can't believe we are on the 13th template of the Major Cities of the World Template Series already. (Don't let the 2 Berlin templates throw you off...I am counting them as one template.)

Today I have the Salt Lake City Template for you. For those of you not familar Salt Lake City, it is in Utah.

Don't laugh, I have a lot of people who come from other countries visiting my blog and they may not know that much about this western United States city.

Many who have heard of Salt Lake City usually associate it with the Mormons. The temple on the template represents the Mormons' presence in Salt Lake City. Of course there is the Great Salt Lake near there as well.

Feel free to use the Utah Template from the State Template Series or just some of the elements from it as you do your Salt Lake City layouts.

Your Layouts!

Here's another layout by catmanor. I think I am seeing a pattern here...once someone uses one of these templates, they get hooked because they really are so much fun to work with. The creative possibilities are endless!

Las Vegas Template Freebie

Here is today's Major Cities of the World Template Series freebie: the Las Vegas Template.

If you are familar with Las Vegas history, you will recognize Vegas Vic on this template.

Once again today's template will go great with its State Template Series counterpart, the Nevada template. Sometimes the state template is too general, but in the last few days they have fit right in with the cities you have requested.

Look for my Father's Day Template to come out this weekend so that you can get a head start on your layouts for Dear Old Dad!

Also, in case you missed it, I posted the Junior Nation AMP Radio Spot yesterday. Check it out...it is a pretty catchy tune!

Freebie Template: Boston

Boston, Massachusetts is today's Major Cities of the World Template freebie. Get the Boston Template now.

Use this template with the Massachusetts Template from my State Template Series. The images are similar and wil make a neat 2 page layout.

The Old North Church layer is an overlay so you can leave it as is or play with the effects and come up with something unusual.

Your Layouts!

Thanks to catmanor for her layout of my Wisconsin Template from the State Template Series. She has taken some creative liberties with the original design and it looks great!
