TOON TOWN - LO

This has got to be one of my favorite LO's to date.  Not because of the LO itself, but because of the wonderful photos my husband was able to capture.  These photos were taken during our family's dream vacation to Walt Disney World over 10 years ago. The smiles on our girls' faces say it all!!  I love that my husband was able to capture Caitlin's and Brittany's laughter during this roller coaster ride.  I love the look of Caitlin's face when the ride suddenly drops on her and I love her big sister's face as she is laughing at her.  Most of all I love the memories it brings back of this perfect vacation!!

At the time, however, I was not loving my husband sitting in the front car of the roller coaster holding the camera while turning to face the girls with the ride in motion.  I was so afraid that he was going to drop the camera as the ride was pretty wild.  I have to say though that these photos make me laugh each and every time I look at them and remember how much the girls LOVED this ride.

COLORING EGGS - LO

I must be subconsciously ready for Easter as I am posting yet another LO of the daycare kids coloring their Easter eggs.  I haven't even started my Valentine's yet, so there is no way I should even be thinking of Easter....but yet I am.  :)

This LO served two purposes.  #1 - get a lot of photos on one LO and #2 use up some buttons from my HUGE button stash.  The eggs were hand drawn and I used my poor neglected Cricut to cut out the title.  The word "coloring" was cut with the Street Signs cart at 1 3/4" and "eggs" was cut using the Storybook cart at 1 1/2".

I hope everyone has a terrific Monday!!!

EGGS TO DIE FOR - LO

Another Easter LO of photos of past daycare children and coloring Easter eggs with them.  It's bittersweet to look at these older photos of them and realize that they are now in the 4th and 5th grade and that I don't see their faces on a daily basis anymore.  At the same time it's great to see them now and again and see what amazing little people they are becoming.  Time goes by so fast.

Happy Wednesday!!

EGGS OF MANY COLORS - LO

This year I am challenging myself to complete more scrapbooking layouts.  I can not even begin to tell you all how far behind I am on my scrapbooking.

This LO is a little step back into memory lane for me.  The little boy in the picture is no longer in my daycare as he has been in school for many years, however I now have his two year old brother, whom I absolutely ADORE!!!  I have many of the same pictures of his little brother that I need to get to scrapbooking soon....like before he starts college :P

BEACH FUN - LO

The hardest part of this LO was taking the photos.  Nothing like tempting fate while standing on a rolling chair on new wood floors trying to snap that perfect photo.  I guess you can say I like to live on the edge.  I hate taking photos of LO's.  They don't fit in my light box, the light is never great for taking pics when I get around to doing it, and there's also that whole tempting fate thing.

This was a quick and simple LO of our trip to the beach last year with our niece and nephew.  I used a few different Cricut carts to complete it.  The title was cut using Pack Your Bags cartridge at 2".  I altered the title a bit as it had a chair and bucket attached to it, but it looked a little busy to me. So I cut them off.  The sun is from the Doodle Charms cart cut at 2", the ball and bucket were both cut from the Simply Charmed cart.  The ball at 3 1/2' and the bucket at 4 1/2".

I'm hoping someone out there has a easier way to photo LO's.  Any suggestions?  How do you all do it?  Or does everyone risk life and limb and stand on a rolling chair like me?

McDONALD'S - LO

This LO was a total cheat to complete as I used a kit from Cut-it-Up. I just had to share it because who really scrap's eating at McDonald's? LOL

Apparently I am one of those people. Who could resist though with these cute little faces?!?

PUMP IT UP - LO

I love LO's that incorporate a lot of pictures, especially since I tend to take a ton of photos at every event.

This LO is really super easy and quick to complete. I just stuck with the 3 colors of card stock to match the inflatable play equipment in the photos, added a few random circles, completed my journaling on vellum and added my title, cut from the Mickey Font Cricut cartridge, to finish. All in all, only took me about 45 minutes. I think I took the longest time on it making sure my blocks all lined up neatly.

Kind of plain and simple but used quite a few photos so I am happy with it.

I THINK I CAN - LO

This LO was very simple and very quick to put together. The photos are from a trip to the Train Museum we took our niece and a few of the daycare babes to. They have a huge play area on the second floor with 3 huge play train tables. One of them has a tunnel and a clear dome you can pop into in the middle of the table and watch the toy trains as they ride by you. Super fun!

The title was cut using the Base Camp Cricut Cartridge and I cheated with a pre-painted wooden train embellishment from Michael's. Like I said, simple and quick.

SAIL ME AWAY - LO

I had never heard of a "Raingutter Regatta" until Caitlin and I joined Girl Scouts. This was such a fun event! Caitlin and Scott took part in the "Me & My Guy Raingutter Regatta Race" that our Girl Scout Service Unit put on. They had to put a boat together and then blow it across a raingutter filled with water that was propped up on two saw horses. It was fun to watch the two of them work on their boat together and then have to race it. They didn't win any prizes that day but the two of them certainly had a great time!!

ZOO - LO

This LO used something that I have not used in quite some time......STICKERS. I am not a big fan of using stickers on my LO's as most of them are flat and have no dimension or texture. I am sad to say that I have a huge binder full of stickers that have not seen the light of day unless I break them out for the daycare babes to play with.

To complete this LO I actually took the sticky out of my stickers. I brushed the back of the stickers with baby powder and added them to my page with pop dots to give them dimension. They are more like die cuts here than stickers. I may have to take a second look at my stickers for future LO's.

LET'S FLY A KITE - LO

On one particular breezy afternoon Scott decided to take the girls out to fly their kite at the park right around the corner from our home. Since I can count on one hand how many times they have had the opportunity to fly their kite I had to capture the moment with this LO.

The title was cut using the Coluzzle and the kites were paper pieced from a pattern.

Looking at this LO I realize I can not wait for breezy fall afternoons.

FABULOUS FIFTIES - LO

Just how cute does my Caitlin look all dolled up for her 50's school performance? A sweet friend made the poodle skirt for her for the event.

The classic car, saddle shoe, dice, and sun glasses were all paper pieced from a pattern. The title was cut from the Opposites Attract Cricut cartridge. A real simple and quick LO.

SWIMSUIT SEASON - LO

Oh my goodness how I love these photos!!! These photos were taken of our niece Alyssa when she was little. We had bought her some swimsuits for her first trip to Hawaii with her Mom and Dad and put them on her for a little fashion show. I just LOVE babies in swimsuits!! They always look so stinking cute and our niece is just the cutest!!

The title was cut using the Quik Kutz "Venus" font set and the swimsuits are paper pieced. I tried to make the pink bikini resemble the bikini we bought Alyssa. She is definitely a bathing suit cutie!
As a follow up to my previous post; our anniversary dinner was delicious. The girls did a great job and our steaks were cooked to perfection thanks to the assistance of a Paula Dean recipe. Can't go wrong with Paula Dean!

SAND, SHELLS, AND FINS - LO

These are without a doubt the most precious professional photos that I have ever seen. Each one of these little finned cuties have attended my daycare at one time or another. Three of them are now in school, only the littlest one has remained but will be leaving me for school in September.

The only embellishments used on this LO are a set of Ariel Sparkle stickers and some stickles. I didn't want to over do it and over shadow the adorable photos.

GET WET - LO

In honor of summer I thought my next several posts should showcase LO's that reflect a feeling of summer.

This is a LO that I completed of the kids playing in our backyard sprinklers. Nothing says "summer" more than kids in sprinklers running and screaming their little heads off. Don't ya think?

Simple LO using a paper-pieced faucet, hose and sprinkler head. The title was made using the All Mixed Up Cricut cartridge.

BORN TO BE WILD - LO

How stinking cute does Josie look in these pictures? These photos were taken several years ago but looking at them now (she is now 5 1/2) they capture her personality perfectly.

I am always at a loss at how to scrap professional portraits. I am afraid of working the pages to much and losing the focus on the photos. So I kept this one very simple with the flame papers and Jolee's motorcycle sticker. The metal strip I stumbled upon at the Scrapbook Expo back in November. The title was cut using the Street Signs cart for the Cricut.

Just check out her little smile/smirk in the second photo, ADORABLE!!

SOCCER - LO

This past October, our niece, Alyssa, started playing soccer. She is a really good player and is absolutely adorable in her uniform.

Here is a quick LO that I completed of her very first game. There will be many more LO's of her playing soccer in the future. Can you believe that I took over 100 photos of just her first game alone? She is a cutie!!

TOADALLY CUTE - LO

This is one of my favorite LO's that I have completed recently. It's a page kit from Scrapbook Fun Addicts. You can find a link for them to the right under "places I like to shop". Everything you need is included in the kit. All of the items are already cut out for you. So there is no tracing and cutting. You just add your own inks, chalks and pen detailing. I think the frogs toadally make this page.
