Back to School Crop at Memorable Seasons!

The Back To School Crop is in full swing over at Memorable Seasons and I thought I would share my challenge for it here as well. I hope you'll join us!

We all learn a lot during our school years. It seems like all we do for those years is absorb new information and knowledge. But, did you ever think about how much learning we do in our everyday lives, at any age? So, that's what this challenge focuses on...learning OUTSIDE the classroom. The challenge is to scrap about a non-school related learning experience. It can be about you or someone else, doesn't matter. Think about the possibilities...learning a musical instrument, a sport, a child learning to ride a bike, etc. There are lots of possibilities here!

And this is my example I created using my Studio Calico Here and There kit. This layout is about a cooking class I took a couple years back with a bunch of girlfriends.

Remember to:
* Create a new layout or 2 cards for this challenge.
* Upload your creation to the gallery and link back to this forum post by Monday, Sept 16th.

All those who complete the challenge will go into a drawing for a little RAK from me!

I'm a ScrapChick at Birds Of A Feather!

I am so excited to share this news with you all! This is the news I got via email last Sunday night that I had to blur out in my Week 7 Project Life spread because it was top secret...until now...

I am a ScrapChick at Birds Of A Feather Kit Company beginning March 1st!
I am pretty new to the boards over there and must thank my friend Nicole Wise for introducing me to Birds Of A Feather and all the lovely chicks in the "Hen-House." And I must also thank Amy, Birds Of A Feather's owner, for this amazing opportunity.

If you are not familiar with Birds Of A Feather, I highly suggest you check it out! There is the wonderful forum (aka "The Hen-House") full of great chit chat and awesome challenges, the beautiful gallery, and the gorgeous kits that Amy puts together each month. Seriously, you have to check out these kits. And each month, there are always coordinating pretty extras you can add onto your kit. Oh, and did I mention there is the second annual Lovebirds Crop happening this weekend? Come join us for the fun; I've got my first Birds Of A Feather challenge posted as part of the crop!

Finally, in honor of the new Birds Of A Feather ScrapChicks, I am giving away an awesome RAK! My RAK box is chock full of goodies from some of my personal favorites and I plan to fill a priority box for one lucky scrapper. So here's how you get up to three chances for the RAK...
  1. Just leave a comment on this post! Easy peasy!
  2. Be (or become) a follower of my blog and leave me a comment on this post letting me know you follow.
  3. Be (or become) a member of Birds Of A Feather! If you join, be sure to introduce yourself in the "Welcome to the Hen-House" forum.
I will draw a winner on Thursday, February 28th!

Members Challenge Us Crop At Memorable Seasons & Scraplifting Yourself!

Hello all! If you are looking for something to do tomorrow, the Memorable Seasons "Members Challenge Us" crop is happening! This is such a fun crop because the MS community members, not the Design Team, issued the crop challenges. And, even though the crop started on Thursday, there is still plenty of time to play along because the deadline to finish the challenges isn't until Wednesday, August 22nd! So if you are interested in playing along (and maybe winning a prize or two), head on over to the crop forum and get scrapping!

I issued a challenge to scraplift yourself! Here is the layout I chose to scrap...
And, I love this design so much that I've scraplifted it several times before...
But that didn't stop me from scraplifting it again to create this brand new layout...
Hope to see you over at Memorable Seasons! Have a great rest of your weekend everyone!

I am honored to be Member of the Month at Memorable Seasons!

I was in total shock when I opened the thread for the August Member of the Month on the Memorable Seasons message board and saw my name there. Shocked and happy! In honor of being MOTM, the Memorable Seasons Design Team all lifted one of my layouts. You can see them all here, but I thought I would highlight one of the lifts created by Tami because she chose to lift a layout that is very special to me - it is the first layout I ever created with a photo of Liam on it.

    Here's my original layout...

    And Tami's lift...
I would love for you all to check out Memorable Seasons, register and give the MOTM scraplift challenge a go! And, as added incentive, Memorable Seasons has a "Members Challenge Us" crop coming up this weekend. Lots of fun in store for sure! So come stop by for a visit!

Olympics Crop Over at My Sketch World!

Okay, so I may have disappeared this summer. Can I just say it has been crazy busy? Like, CRAZY busy. But I have found time to scrap! I just haven't posted much here. I know, shame, shame on me. So, for the next few days, I will be putting up a daily post with what the heck I've been up to in my scrappy world these past couple of months.

First up, I wanted to let you know about the Olympic-themed online crop happening at My Sketch World. They have three challenges up already and will posting a challenge daily through August 12th. You have until August 19th to get your entries in for an awesome grand prize. There are also fun games going on throughout the crop and lots of great chit-chat with some wonderful people! So check it out! This is the second MSW online crop I've participated in. The first was their annual ABC crop this past June. So that was one of my fun scrappy endeavors this summer. I had a blast and cranked out a whole bunch of layouts AND cards during this crop. Here are my creations from that crop!
