August Papermaze Kit - Part 1

Lynn here today with the first of my layouts made using the August Papermaze Kit. This kit is full of bright and colourful scrapbook papers, embellishments and cardstock. Ideal for summer and seaside layouts. The first two layouts feature lots of doodling.

Here are the details of what you will find in the kit:

Patterned Papers:
Vicki Boutin - Bold + Bright collection - Light of Day & Spinning Wheels
Paige Evans - Adventurous collection - #21
Echo Park - Sunny Days Ahead collection - Shine on Sunshine
Pebbles - Fun in the Sun collection - Picnic Plaid & Get Away

This photo shows both sides of the papers:

Embellishments:  Sheet of P13 alphas, selection of Pebbles puffy thickers, 5 Rosie's Studio puffy stickers, 6 Simple Stories ephemera, 5
AALL & Create labels, 6 water droplets and a strip of enamel hearts.

Bazzill Basics Cardstock: Avalanche and Granny Smith (included in main kit).
Evening Light, Princess Pink, Mexican Poppy and Sea Water (in extra Bazzill pack).

Sandy Toes + Salty Kisses - My girls on the beach at Joss Bay, a hot August day way back when they were just 3 years old.

For this layout I used both sheets of
Vicki Boutin - Bold + Bright paper. I used Light of Day for the base, and with a fine black marker pen I highlighted and doodled around the colourful circular design on the paper. I cut a photo into a circle (about the same size as the orange printed circle), and stuck this within and overlapping the circles.

With Spinning Wheels paper I cut a selection of wheels in different colours and sizes from about half the sheet of paper (keeping the rest for another layout - shown below). I cut some circles in half and placed them around the edges of the page. Then with four large wheels I created flowers along the bottom of the layout. Back in with the pen, more doodling and highlighting!
I placed some large enamel dots (from my stash) into the flower centres.

I made my title with the puffy thickers from the kit, and a little journalling.

Vacay Vibes - Another photo from the early summer days with the children, Aboard Glisser in Woolverstone Marina. This is inspired by a layout from Paige Evans.

For this layout I used the sheet of Avalanche Bazzill as the foundation. Then I cut 5.5cm Hexagons from a selection of papers from this kit and a few from previous kits so that all the hexagons were different. I used both sides of Picnic Plaid, one side of  Spinning Wheels, Adventurous #21, Get Away. I used a die from a Memory Box set. the edges of each paper shape was distressed before adding it to the page.  I also cut a photo using the die for the centre of the arrangement.

I embellished the hexagons with a variety of words and phrases cut from the papers, and embellishments from the kit. I started with a puffy thickers phrase for the title. Then one another hexagon I added three of the AALL & Create labels from the kit, added my own journalling to these.

I cut phrases from the Get Away paper, and some labels from Adventurous #21 paper adding these to the hexagons.

I bunched some labels together, and stuck them to one of the hexagons with some twine through the holes. I added more journalling to these labels.

With a black pen I added doodling to the edges of the hexagons. Then I drew lines around each of the phrases to reflect the doodling on the AALL & Create labels.

Finally, I scattered the water droplets from the kit, over the page.

That's all for today, I'll be back with more from this kit soon.
Thanks for looking

Papermaze June Kit - Part 1

Lynn here today, introducing the Papermaze Kit for June. Lots of bright colours this month for those summery layouts.
Here are my first two layouts, both with some machine stitching.

Patterned papers:
American Crafts - Rainbow Avenue - My Feelings
Echo Park - My Little Girl - Pretty Girl Plaid & Bright Floral
Pinkfresh Studio - Picture Perfect - Write your Story
Pinkfresh Studio - The simple things - Rays of Sunshine
Simple Stories - Summer Snapshots - Take the Shot

The image below shows both sides of each of the papers included in the kit.

Embellishments: 1/2 sheet Paige Evans Blooming Wild puffy stickers, Strip of Vicki Boutin Speciality Acetate Discover and Create, 1 Paige Evans Blooming Wild Chipboard Mini Frame, 4 Doodlebug Designs All Aflutter butterfly shape stickers, 3 Masterpiece Design '12 months label mix', 3 Pretty Little Studio ephemera pieces Sunkissed - Smell the Flowers, Pinch of Pinkfresh clear drops - Blush, & Strip of Doodlebug Designs washi tape - Bunny Hop Pastel Plaid.

Bazzill Basics - Coconut Swirl & Classic Yellow (included in kit). Passionate, Aqua, Marmalade Blast & Wild Pansy (in Extra Bazzill Pack)

Merry Go Round - A recent trip to Bressingham Gardens and Steam Museum with my brother and SIL, we just had to ride on the Gallopers!

I started this layout, by trimming the white Bazzill to 11" x 11", then I cut a 7.5" circle from the cardstock, roughly 1" in from the top and the left. I used a sewing machine and orange thread to sew a line around the edge of the card, and wavy lines around t cut-out. The cardstock was then mounted over the PFS
Rays of Sunshine paper.

I positioned my photos to the right of the layout, and set about the embellishments and title.

I cut small triangles from the scraps of cardstock left from preparing the original piece. Cutting more from the
Marmalade Blast Bazzill. These were doubled up to create a shadow under each flag, I strung them over the top of the circle to create a bunting effect, adding some twine. I used 3D foam pads to raise the flags from the page. I used Mint Doodlebug Designs Alphabet Soup stickers to add part of the title to the flags.

I made a cluster of labels using the
3 Masterpiece Design '12 months label mix from the kit. I wrote my journalling onto these labels.

The word 'Merry' was cut three times using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlit set - Merry & Bright. I used Passionate, Marmalade Blast & Wild Pansy Bazzill from the kit. These words were glued together slightly off-set from one another. This was placed at the top of the circle.

Butterflies were added to the top right of the page using the All Aflutter butterfly shape stickers from the kit.

I created the 'The Gallopers' with more Alphabet Soup - this time the Tangerine set. Two tiny hearts from both sets of these alpha stickers were placed in the label cluster.

Finally, I scattered some iridescent sequins over the page in colours to match the papers.

The Show Must Go On - Whatever the Weather - Catherine and her colleague working on the summer show for children in the Abbey ruins near where she lives. Mostly the weather was good to them, but there were a few days of rain!

The base for this page is the 'B' side of EP
Pretty Girl Plaid. I started by creating my rainbow using strips of paper cut from PSF Write your Story. I cut a stripe of each colour from this paper, then I chopped them into 1" long pieces. I arranged them into a rainbow arc and stuck them to the page. I machine stitched with purple thread over each colour.

With some black cardstock I created my title using the Cricut, and arranged some of these over the rainbow and some just beneath it.

My photo was mounted onto some white card and placed into position. I also cut a few clouds from white card to use as journalling blocks and added these to the right of the photo. I inked the edges first.

Rain was made, using Assorted Water Droplets also available at Papermaze.  I used two of flowers from the Paige Evans Blooming Wild puffy stickers fin the kit.

Finally, I cut some words from PFS Write your Story paper, I inked the edges and applied them around the top of the rainbow.

That's all for today, I will return with part two soon.
Thanks for looking.

November Papermaze Kit - Part 2

Lynn back today, with the second pair of layouts made using the November Papermaze Kit. A lovely selection of bright colours with some black and white too.

Here are the details of what you will find in the kit.

Patterned Papers:
49 & Market - Spectrum Gardenia - Painted Foundations Color Wheel
Doodlebug Design - Hello Again - Dainty Dots
Simple Stories - The Little Things - Always Remember
Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Life In Bloom - Make Time
Simple Stories - What's Cookin' - Let's Eat
American Crafts - Shimelle Main Character Energy - After Hours
Bazzill Basics - CS White and Hillary

Reverse side of papers

Embellishments

9 frames of Tim Holtz Film strip ribbon, 3 Paige Evans die-cut leaves, heart button, 1m black twine, 1 sheet alphabet stickers, 1 strip of enamel hearts, 1 flair badge, 6 water droplets

Bazzill Basics extra pack - Blackbird, Apricot, African Violet and Petunia

Yes, You Can! Photos of the girls on the way home after their first ballet exam.

For this layout I used the CS White Bazzill from the kit and did some stencilling down the centre matching the colours of the papers. I chose Peacock Feathers, and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Inks through a stencil from my stash. I flicked more of these inks and some water over the area too.

I cut two large triangles from the striped side of 'After Hours', then I cut two more slightly larger from the spotty side of  'Make Time', paper. The stripes were mounted over the dots and then applied to either side of the layout.

My photos were mounted on to white, then black cardstock scraps. and then arranged onto the layout. From scraps of the Make Time paper I cut some of the tickets and tucked these around the photos.

My title and some arrows were taken from Vicki Boutin's The Details Thickers puffy phrase stickers pack.  More details were added with the alpha sticker pack from the kit.

Finally, I added the water droplets from the kit.

Baby Girl - I used a photo of the very youngest member of the family.

I completed all the cutting and mounting of papers and cardstock, before working out where to do the stamping. The sizes for this will depend on the size and orientation of the photos. For this I used the Petunia Bazzill, both sides of the 'Dainty Dots' paper and the spotty side of the remains of the 'Make Time' paper. I mounted my photo onto some scrap white cardstock, and cut and arranged the mounted patterned papers across the page. Using Blackbird Bazzill as a base, and without sticking anything in place, I worked out where the stamps should go. I made light pencil marks before everything was removed from the background.

With a VersaMark ink pad and Jofy stamp set #14, I stamped the daisies onto the black, and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The paper, card and photo were then glued in place.

I punched some butterflies using a Martha Stewart 3 in 1 punch, I places a cluster of these around the flowers.

With another scrap of Make Time paper and more Petunia Bazzill, I made a half tag, punching a hole and rounding the corners. I used the heart button and the black twine from the kit to attach to the tag and mounted it to the top left of the layout.

I created some dots around the flowers and butterflies with White Gloss Nuvo Crystal Drops.

My title was created with some white foam letter stickers. With the sticker pack in the kit, I added Poppy's name and the date. Finally, I trimmed a selection of phrases from the 'Always Remember' paper, and placed them around the page.

That's all from the November kit, I'm currently preparing layouts with the December kit - I'll be back soon.
Thanks for looking.

June Papermaze Kit - Part 2

Lynn here today, with more of the Papermaze kit for June available in the shop, and online. This beautiful selection of summery papers in a selection of blues and oranges. Plenty of embellishments and Bazzill cardstock. There are two sheets of card stock in the kit, and a pack of four colour matched sheets in the extra pack. Here are the second two of my four layouts made using this kit, both with a very different vibe - one a heritage layout, and the other with a bright rainbow theme.

Before looking at how the layouts were made, here is a reminder of what you will find in the kit.

Patterned Papers:
49 & Market - Vintage Artistry collection - Everywhere - Ticket Montage
49 & Market - Colour Swatch Inkwell collection - Paper 3
Heidi Swapp - Set Sail collection - Ledger Peach & Circles
Jen Hadfield - Flower Child collection- Keeping Tabs
Prima Marketing - The Plant Department collection - Fleur
Bazzill Basics Cardstock - Pigment & Typhoon

Reverse side of papers

Embellishments: 7 Rosie's Studio puffy stickers, 2 49 & market frames, 10 water droplets, 10 Crate Paper enamel dots, 2 Prima tickets, 3 Prima tags, 4 lines of Pretty Little Studio stickers, 50cm peach twine.

Extra Bazzill Basics pack - Bazzill White, Quartz, Powder Blue & Pear

The Marriage - of my grandparents Ernest and Winifred in 1926.

This beautiful foiled paper from Prima Marketing - The Plant Department collection called Fleur is so detailed, it doesn't need much work to make it into a layout. I felt it would be perfect for recording the wedding photo and details for generations to come.
I printed the main wedding details onto some white vellum, which would be placed in the top left corner of the layout. I lined this up with the straight sides of the paper, then tore the other two sides. This was attached to the page with five large gold eyelets. Blue twine was threaded through the eyelets and tied in a bow to the side.

My photo was mounted onto Powder Blue Bazzill from the kit and placed in the centre of the layout. I found an elegant piece of lace in my stash to hang from under the photo.

I printed more details onto vellum to fit over one of the Prima tags from the kit. I added another gold eyelet and more of the blue twine.  This was placed to the bottom right of the photo.

Finally, I embellished the tag and the photo with two of the Rosie's Studio puffy phrase stickers from the kit.

Making Rainbows for Hope - This layout records the making of rainbow badges and magnets for friends and relatives during lockdown in 2020.

It's was difficult to choose which side of this lovely
49 & Market - Colour Swatch Inkwell collection paper to use, but in the end wanted a fairly plain canvas for my rainbow, so chose the 'B' side.

I used a Paige Taylor Evans cutfile for stitching, and tilted the image before cutting the holes for stitching the rainbow. Then an evening's work in front of the TV to stitch the colour bands using DMC threads.

I mounted my photos into the two 49 & Market frames that came in the kit and arranged them on the layout.

I cut cloud shapes from white card and added my journalling. I placed them to the bottom right of the photos, together with a couple of the smaller fimo rainbows I made.

I arranged my long title around the top of the rainbow, using Doodlebug Designs Alphabet Soup puffy letter stickers in various colours.

Embellishments were added with items from the kit - 10 water droplets and the Pretty Little Studio word stickers.

That's all from the June kit, back soon with the July kit.
Thanks for looking.
