November Papermaze Kit - Part 1

Hello! - Lynn here today, with my first post using the pretty November Papermaze Kit. This month includes florals, pastels and woodland themed papers.

Here are my first two pages, both featuring my new baby granddaughter.

Here are the details of what you will find in the kit:

Patterned Papers:
49 and Market - Birdsong collection - Sweet Notes & Songs of Hope
49 and Market - Vintage Orchard collection - Woodgrained
Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Meadow Flowers collection - Seeds of Kindness & Wild & Beautiful
Mintay - In My Craftroom collection - #05
The photo below shows both sides of the papers:

Embellishments:
Simple Stories Simply Vintage Meadow Flowers Foam Stickers and Bits & Pieces, Cocoa Vanilla Storyteller Wood Epoxy Button, Little Birdie Flower, Marianne rosebuds, Rosie's Studio Belleview Butterfly, chipboard frame and jute twine.

Bazzill Basics Cardstock:
Touch of Pink and Lily Pond (in kit) and Bark, Evening Surf, Crepe and Wild Pansy (in extra pack)

Pick of the Patch - Florence at her Baby Sensory Group for Halloween.

I started this layout with the sheet of Bark Bazzill, gutted to make a 1" frame. I cut a piece of
Seeds of Kindness paper to measure 11" x 6", distressed the edges and placed it to the right of the page.

Then I cut 4 - 11" strips of
Woodgrained paper, distressed all the edges and overlapped these to fill the left side of the page. The result leaves a border of about 0.5" of Bark Bazzill showing all around the edges.

I used a Martha Stewart punch to cut a decorative strip from another piece of Woodgrained paper, and placed this down the centre of the layout.

I mounted my photo onto a piece of Bark Bazzill and added this to the centre of the layout. Then  I rummaged in my flower stash, selected flowers and leaves, then arranged them in three clusters around the photo. The flower centres were created with a selection of brads.

The decorative strip was decorated with some metallic nail head stickers.

My title was cut from scraps of the Woodgrained paper and a set of Sizzix Thinlit dies called Delicate Alpha. The date was made with Doodlebug Designs Alphabet Soup Letter Stickers in Gold.

I finished off with a little journalling and some Simple Stories Simply Vintage Meadow Flowers Foam Stickers from the kit.

Hello Lovely - My daughter and granddaughter in Greenwich Park looking over London.

I based this layout on the sheet of Sweet Notes paper from 49 and Market, I love all the images already layered on this paper, so simply added to it with items from the kit and my stash.

I used the chipboard frame and the jute twine from the kit to mount my photo. I painted the chipboard with Brushed
Corduroy Distress Paint, then dry brushed over with some Walnut Stain Distress Paint.

I attached large eyelets to the two holes on the chipboard frame and another one to each side of the page. With the twine I joined up the eyelets. I tied off with a bow on the left side.

I added the date to the frame using Sizzix Thinlits Tim Holtz Alphanumeric die set and scraps from the Woodgrained paper.

On my recent visit to Papermaze I purchased some 49 and Market Krafty Garden Acetate Assortment, and the Laser Cut Wildflowers, and I used some of each of these packs to embellish the layout. The title was also from the acetate assortment.

Journalling was written onto scraps of Seeds of Kindness paper, cut into strips, inked and added to the right of the page under the title.

That's all for today, I'll be back with more from this kit soon.
Thanks for looking.

June Papermaze Kit - Part 1

The new Papermaze kit for June is now available in the shop, and online. An amazing collection of travel and floral papers in a selection of blues and oranges. Plenty of embellishments and Bazzill cardstock. There are two sheets of card stock in the kit, and a pack of four colour matched sheets in the extra pack. Here are the first two of my four layouts made using this kit, both with a summery vibe.

Before looking at how the layouts were made, here are the details of what you will find in the kit.

Patterned Papers:
49 & Market - Vintage Artistry collection - Everywhere - Ticket Montage
49 & Market - Colour Swatch Inkwell collection - Paper 3
Heidi Swapp - Set Sail collection - Ledger Peach & Circles
Jen Hadfield - Flower Child collection - Keeping Tabs
Prima Marketing - The Plant Department collection - Fleur
Bazzill Basics Cardstock - Pigment & Typhoon

Reverse side of papers

Embellishments: 7 Rosie's Studio puffy stickers, 2 49 & market frames, 10 water droplets, 10 Crate Paper enamel dots, 2 Prima tickets, 3 Prima tags, 4 lines of Pretty Little Studio stickers, 50cm peach twine.

Extra Bazzill Basics pack - Bazzill White, Quartz, Powder Blue & Pear

Family Reunion - This photo was taken when we met up with family rediscovered through Ancestry. We took the opportunity to share a meal when visiting Harrogate recently.

To make a base for this layout, I stared with a spare sheet of 12" x 12" paper. This meant I could use both sides of the patterned paper. All my cut papers were inked with Saltwater Taffy Distress Ink. I cut two panels 4" x 12" from the wooden plank side of the Heidi Swapp Set Sail - 'Ledger Peach' paper. I placed these either side of the base paper.

I then cut a flowery panel from Jen Hadfield's Flower Child - 'Keeping Tabs' paper, this was 5" x 12". I placed the floral panel in the centre of the page. I cut 2 pieces 1" x 12" from the ledger side of the Set Sail Paper, I used a border punch to create a pattern along the length of the strips and tucked them just under the centre paper.

My photo was mounted onto a piece of Powder Blue Bazzill. I cut two of the ledger pieces from the other side of the Flower Child paper, and all three pieces were arranged to the left side of the layout.

With two more smaller pieces from the Flower Child paper, I wrote my journalling on one and mounted it onto the other. These were placed to the right bottom area of the layout. I made a small tag with more of the same paper and added the date to my journalling with some Doodlebug Designs Alphabet Soup puffy stickers in Mint.

The title was made with more puffy alpha stickers from my stash - Pink Paislee Happy Life Thickers and Pinkfresh The Best Days.

I added a heart phrase embellishment I had left over from a previous Papermaze kit to the top right. A Peartree Flair was positioned near the journalling.

Finally, I added clusters of paper roses in four different colours, together with some leaf fronds cut using a Tim Holtz - Sizzix Thinlits Funky Floral die set. To cut the leaves I used Powder Blue and Pigment Bazzill.

Life is Good - Photo taken at the start of our two-week Greek Island sailing trip.

I used the beautiful 'Ticket Montage' paper as the backdrop for this layout. Then I tore a panel from 'Circles' paper 12" x approx. 5 1/2" and placed this, stripe side up, across the centre of the page. I tore two more narrow strips and with the circle side up, I placed these above and below the centre panel.

I cut two wreaths using Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits set - Funky Wreaths and Pigment Bazzill. I plaited three lengths of jute twine and tied the finished plait into a circle. The three circles were placed to the left of the page so they would peek out from under the photo.

The photo was placed to the left of the layout on foam to give it dimension and allow it to sit over the jute twine.

I placed four acrylic seagulls from Bramble Fox at the top of the layout. A Peartree acrylic title was placed to the right of the stripe paper to make the title.

The date was made with Doodlebug Designs Alphabet Soup puffy stickers in Lily White. I cut the words 'Set Sail' from the detail strip of the patterned paper and placed it just under my title.

My journalling was written to the bottom right of the layout, and embellished with the enamel (heart) dots from the kit. I also added a Rosie's Studio puffy sticker, to my photo (also from the kit).

That's all for today, I have two more layouts to share soon.
Thanks for looking.

Paige Evans ~ Blooming Wild #3 🌸

Hello and Happy International Scrapbook Day! I hope you get to enjoy some scrappy time this weekend.
It’s Anna here, I’m back to share one last layout with you using Paige Evans’ latest collection with American Crafts ~ Blooming Wild
You can find all of this beautiful collection in the shop here

I just had to have a go with using the large word ‘LOVE’ from Paper #17
I cut each letter out and adhered them at an angle on my pale pink cardstock.

I couldn’t decide whether to add the blanket stitching around each letter, so I didn’t, but I may just have to go back and add it it! That’s the beauty of crafting though isn’t it!? There is no right or wrong way of creating and you can always go back and add/change things if you want to!

I selected two small photos and mounted them using Paper #16.

I then tore a strip of paper from Paper #23 and placed it on the left side of my layout. I added a boarder sticker from the Cardstock Stickers as well to add a little more detail and interest to the page.

I fussy cut lots of florals from Paper #2 and layered them around my photos.

I then selected some stickers from the cardstock sticker pack and added a few extra details in clusters around my two photos.

I’ll be back later in the month where I’ll be working with Maggie Holmes’ latest collection with American Crafts ~ Woodland Grove
See you then!

Thanks for looking!

Pinkfresh Studio ~ Spring Vibes #3 🌺

Hi there, it’s Anna back with you today and I’m here to share my third and final layout using Pinkfresh Studio Spring Vibes.

You can find the collection in the shop here

I began with a sheet of white 12x12 Bazzill cardstock
I really wanted to make use of the lovely bold stripes on the ‘Sunny Days’ paper. So I decided to trim each strip down and distress the edges.

I mounted my photo onto some coordinating cardstock from the matchmaker pack and placed it centrally.

I then pulled out my pack of Simple Stories Color Vibe Flower Bits - Spring. I put various combinations of flowers together and began to arrange them on my layout. I also fussy cut some of the florals and leaves from ‘Daisies’and arranged those in together with the simple stories flowers. I added some enamel dots to the centres of some of the flowers as well.

I selected various elements from the cardstock stickers and tucked them in around my photo. I also added a few sentiments and puffy dots from some Vicki Boutin Thickers.

I added a title and a subtitle to the layout using Doodlebug Abigail Alphabet Stickers and some Pinkfresh Alpha Stickers too.

Thanks so much for looking!
I’ll be back next month with a brand new collection to share with you!
See you then,
Anna

Papermaze January Kit - Part 2

Lynn back with part 2 of the January Papermaze Kit. I'm really loving working with these beautiful, wintery papers. Here are my second pair of layouts, another snowy page and a heritage layout.

A reminder of what you will find in the kit:
For full details pleas see my earlier post HERE.

St. Joseph's Oratory - this photo was taken on a very cold snowy day in March when we visited Canana. It is St Joseph's Oratory, Mount Royal, Montreal.

For this page I used the Bazzill Bling - Blind Date, and gutted it to create a 2.5cm frame. Then with the Stamperia paper I trimmed 1 cm from all four sides. I inked the edges with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

Next I prepared my photo, by layering up on some white glitter foam and more of the Bazzill Bling. I worked out where the photo would sit pencilled round the edges, then gutted some paper from underneath. Then the papers and photo were stuck in place.

I then strung a selection of beads and a snowflake charm across the top of the photo.

From the gutted paper I fussy cut the flowers and leaves, including incomplete images. These were then shaped and inked. before being arranged around the photo and stuck in place with 3D foam tape, tucking the incomplete parts under the photo.

With a Sizzix Thinlits die from the Holiday Greens set, I cut some fir tree branches from pearlescent paper to arrange among the flowers.

The title is made up of the Simple Stories Sn@p letter stickers from the kit and some Pinkfresh Studio Mini Puffy Alpha Stickers.

Finally I embelliehed with sequins, Diamond Stickles and Nuvo Glitter Drops - Blue Babe.

Lustell Thursa Everista Alouise Banks - This recently acquired family history photo was sent to me via Ancestry recently. Lovely photo of this girl with quite a mouthful of a name!

I chose the beautiful Studio Light paper as the background of for this layout. There is a lot of detail on this paper, so I only wanted to complement it with my embellishments.

The large photo was backed with Ivy Bazzill and the left side was trimmed with some of the lace from the kit.

I selected two doilies from my stash and applied them to the background to partly show above the photo. I cut my title from white glitter foam using the Sizzix Alphanumeric Classic Lower Case die set.

I decided to embellish the three wooden butterflies from the kit together with two chipboard butterflies from my stash. I painted them with some white acrylic paint, then once dry I heat embossed them with Distress Embossing Powder. I used Weathered Wood and Peeled Paint, I love the way this gave a glazed pottery effect to the pieces.
To add antenna I threaded some stamen through the holes in the bodies of the wooden butterflies.

With the roses from the kit and some tiny paper flowers from my stash I created a large flower cluster at the bottom right corner of the photo. With the addition of a decorative pin and some flat-backed pearls to complete the arrangement.

With a few more paper flowers and some ric-rac braid I made a small cluster in the top right corner of the layout, adding a couple of paper flowers among the title.

Thats all for today, but I have a lot of this kit left so plan to make some more layouts to share.

Thanks for looking
