This layout is for Let's Scrap DT call. Here are some really old photos of blooms that I took in Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne. I found them through some old stack photos which I didn't put in my photo albums, so I thought I might as well use them to scrap. I kept the background busy with stencils and topped it up with the clean diecuts and title work.

This week I am playing at Skissedilla #203 (in fact I flipped it) Haven't had the chance to scrap much this whole week but I managed to squeeze this layout out over 2 nights, after I caught naps while putting the kids to bed! Here's a photo during my one week travel to Melbourne, taken on 11Nov2006. I have the date in my Shutterfly album but I don't remember the venue, duh... but I think it's either from Richmond Hill Larder Cafe or one of the cafes at at Degraves Road. On my layout I started off with texture paste and the usuals - misting, stamping and ink blending. The effect does jive with the gorgeous oozing Florentine eggs for breakie.
Noteables : Bazzill Kraft 12x12, Dylusions London Blue/Cut Grass, Hero Arts Mid tone Shadow Ink Butter Bar, Distress inks Pine Needles/Walnut Stain, Stamps from Paper Impressions / Stampers Anonymous / Kaisercraft, Versafine Onyx Black, Textured paste
The challenge at 365cards this week is to use
adhesive in a creative way other than to just stick two things
together. For instance, I like to use dimensional adhesive to create a
raised image. You can do anything you'd like, just be sure to describe
the technique you used. I used 2 3ds glue dots - one of the camera and one of the button for the raised effect of the embellishment. Join us at 365cards for all the fun!
Noteables : MME paper, Camera stamped from RAK, Button from OA
As I was saying in my past post, I found a stack of photos from aeons ago. You'd be seeing lots of photos from the market and from the garden. This is taken at Queen's Market in Melbourne, Nov2006 and made for Val's DT Challenge #158 at Let's Scrap, our fellow DT member. The deal was to use ONLY ONE piece of white card stock, and black ink and black pen. I had a little help from #2 using the ink pad, I left him in the room for one minute and voila! Thank goodness he didn't use the ink pad on his own face! So anyway, I added the neat vertical and horizontal lines and the rest are scribbles and what-nots mess behind the neatly tucked apples.
Noteables : Dylusions London Blue/Fresh Lime; Jenni Bowlin Fountain Pen, Mister Hueys Graph mask, TCW Chervon arrows stencil, Sharpies Fine, AC precision pen, MT washi tape,

This layout is for CSI #64. I found a lot of old photos which I printed extra from aeons ago. This is one of them when I was in Salzburg in May2002. It was the 2nd time I travelled out to Europe. Well the photo did not showcase the Alps or anything, it's just me near the train station, taken by my cousin who was travelling with me back then. Something that I learnt and love about myself is my guts to wander around, without having planned much:) and it was my 1st time trying beef goulash in a hidden little eatery at one of the streets of the Old Town. Yup, I love to explore the little nooks and corner of new places, expand my knowledge about others' cultures, just curious and wanting to know what is new in a new places. Evidences that I have included bird, rub-ons, stamps, circles, stencils and pen work. There are 3 stencils used on this page, a few layers of stamps here and there. Testimony includes the use one of the words on the image as a jumping off point for your journaling [love], document what you love about yourself, use a journaling stamp and journal as a series of verbs [I feel, I like, I want, I can, I will].

This week the palette at CSI#63... correct me if I'm wrong, is rather shabby chic sort, . Not quite my palette as this is soft and sweet colors. I had turned it into something more grungry and masculine with the use of more cocoa. This is a photo of my breakfast at Jones. Seriously really. Totally fit for a queen though it looks casual.
I used all 5 colors required for this challenge. The base of this paper is Simple Stories Year-o-graphy Grid paper. I started with some ink blending of a stencil, followed by mists and quickly mini mists watered them down. And blended more distress ink to make the background of this layout. Evidence that I have on my layout is metal, numbers, flowers, lace (doily). As for the testimony size, inspire, woman and this prompt #114.

Hello Monday! This week at Kaboodle Doodle's theme is bows, laces, pearls or anything with frills. I did sentiment stamping on the card and just happily spritz onto the card. This is my take for Skissedilla sketch #201. I took a busy patterned paper and 'toned' it down with with some journaling cards. I have tonnes from Santa Sack purchases.... so you'd be seeing more of OA this year! It's quite not me if I don't add ink or paint. So I had let the drips do the job. Shamelessly as I would say, I really love the vertical drips which I experimented for the 1st time!

I'm back this week at 365cards. The challenge today is to create a card that is "scattered" with few or no clean lines. It
doesn't have to be loaded up with stuff, but not particularly clean and
simple either. So here is my take with misting, no clean lines - guaranteed! Hope you like this card as much as I do. Love the water color effect! Yummo!

These are some shots of the two boys at home, posing funny. This is based on Let's Scrap sketch this week and I did a one-pager. I did a little twist on the cluster on the sketch and added some photos to it and bits and pieces. Hope you like them and join us for the fun at Let's Scrap.

I haven't been scrapping for the whole of last week. I finally found some energy and motivation on Saturday night and managed one layout for this week and 2 cards. Then I started to work on this layout so here's my take on CSI case #62, finally complete last night piecing them together. This is a photo of the boys strolling at Botanic Gardens. Typically singing gibberish or some made up songs. Hand in hand they walk, #1 would stop at the plants to figure out the pronunciation of the scientific names of the plants, giggles, before the switch suddenly turns on for them to go prancing around in circles. Well, we get that all the time at every visit to the Gardens.
My layout is based on CSI DT Em Starface's sketch. I guess I'm more into bold or dark colors. This palette is rather soft so I find that the color palette this week quite difficult. But boy, am I glad that the misting does most of the job well, blending together give the outcome that I wished/prayed for!
The evidences on my layout includes wood, musical element, circles and plant. Testimony music title is based on 8Days A week is a song from The Beatles. While the journaling is except by Toy Story main theme You've Got A Friend in Me . The boys love the movie, loves the iPad app and not sure if they love this song but anyway it's meaningful. This is just a mommie's wish to the both of them and it reads :
You've got a friend in Me
When the road looks rough ahead (not quite in the photo, eh?)
We stick together, we can see it through
