MFT Color Challenge

My card for this week's challenge is a holiday one!

I am, indeed, one of the biggest fans of the PI line of MFT stamps!

So anxious to start working on Christmas projects, even with the weather well in the
100-110 range!  Fall will eventually come here in the desert!

Also entered at Scrapper's Delights, Anything Goes!

Cool weather can't get here soon enough,
Keep on crafting, my friends!

Another Western theme card!

My Favorite Things

card challenge to make a gift card holder was the perfect excuse to get out my goodies once more!

On my previous post, I showed the PI "Cowgirl" stamp used on a project.

Now, here is the PI "Cowboy" image to pair up with that!

By switching just a few simple elements, I have two cards ready for any little buckaroo who has a holiday/birthday approaching!

He definitely calls for more masculine colors and I, not intentionally being partial,
gave him a lasso and gold rodeo buckle!
And that is only a pretend gun the little guy has.  I am not a huge gun supporter, especially for those not trained in handling such things.  But when in Arizona...

Wish me luck this challenge go-around!
And get out and enjoy the weather if you are fortunate enough to live where it is comfortable!

Ropin' in some grub,
Jan

Ye-haw! Gift Card Holder!

My Favorite Things
challenge this week is to create a gift card
holder of some sort; card, bag, ect. and I love using an MFT image!

I have had this pocket image forever and always use it as a go-to when I need a cute gift card item.

When colored in pastels, it can be an adorable baby or toddler gift card, and the color choices are unlimited.
In this case, however, it HAD to be worn jeans!

It worked perfectly with my little PI "Cowgirl" stamp.

The stamped pocket is applied to both a white Copics paper and, in this case, a tan patterned cardstock paper.

Color the one on white paper in any color you would like your pocket to be. Then fussy cut out
and adhere along the edges to the background pocket.  This creates your "gift card pocket".

After that, anything goes! Create away!
I've added a little silver cowboy hat charm on the sentiment!

Living in Arizona, these are some of my favorite PI images !

Can't have a little cowgirl these days without a bit of bling!
I have even given her a silver rodeo buckle!

Everyone have a rootin' tootin' week!
Thanks,
Jan

MFT Color Challenge 123

This week's color challenge at
is a fun one, for sure!

Purple, Raspberry, and Gray (in this case to represent a silver cupcake wrapper)

Craftin' away!
Jan

PS.  My image for the sketch challenge worked great for both these challenges!
How often does that happen?

MFT Sketch Challenge 449

MFT Sketch Challenge this week is a twist for sure!
Not your usual layout for  me!
It was funny because I had colored and picked papers out for the color challenge, so this simply meant I had to revise my idea of how I would position and cut!

And , of course, a sparkly red cherry on top!

Enjoy your day!

Another Birthday idea from MFT!

My second card today using the sketch challenge at MFT!

(If you'd like to go to the blog, just scroll down to my previous post and click on the link!)

On my second card, I simply utilized the
"Happy Birthday"
stamp again and followed the sketch rules.

The star is a fabric stick-on that our 15 yr old grandson can remove
and re-use on a backpack or school folder, etc.

Thanks for checking out my blog,
and keep on crafting!

MFT Birthday Girl

Once I started, I just couldn't resist using the same sketch challenge at
shown on my previous post on a birthday card for my granddaughter's upcoming birthday!
As it happens, it also qualifies for last week's color challenge
at

I'm determined to add some new stamps to my
MFT collection. Mine are slightly outdated.

I still love the ones I have!
This is "PI Celebration",
with the sentiment from "PI My Birthday"!

As always, colored with my Copics, and trying to use the
DCWV papers from my days on their DT!

Added some Stickles here and there, along with the candles and bow from
my stash.  I love the little golden slippers because my granddaughter
would so wear that exact outfit given the chance!

She'll be turning six, so the baby cards are over.
These should be a terrific replacement for unicorns and puppies!

She loves the homemade and 3D cards and usually keeps them.

Yep, she's the diva that inspires me to create the cards and scrapbook.
My grandson, at 14, is somewhat harder to wrangle down to get a photo!

Well, that's a little peek into my world as a Grandma!

Happy Crafting!

MFT new sketch challenge!

This week's sketch challenge at
is
I flipped it on it's side and created this card for a cousin who is going through some really rough health issues right now. Hope it brightens her day!

Pure Innocence image
"My Umbrella"
from some years ago.
I still love using her so that I can paper piece both the
umbrella and her adorable little boots!

Popped up the umbrella accent and added a charm and she's ready to be sent off!

Colored with Copics markers, and papers are DCWV.
It sure would be great to win some credit towards MFT products.
I need to update my collection and a die set for some of these favorites would be good, too!

I have a birthday card to start on next!!
Happy crafting!

Cup of Hugs!

For House-Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge,
I've made a card for a dear acquaintance who could really use
a big pick-me-up right about now and is a huge coffee drinker!

I used House Mouse's image, "A Warm Cup"'
and in keeping with the "In the Kitchen" theme,
papers that remind me of vintage kitchen
wallpaper/curtains and a red table cloth.

The little coloring needed was with Copics.

Everyone have a really "Mice" day!
~Jan~

P.S. PLEASE, Let me know you were here by leaving a short comment!
I love hearing from you!

One of My Favorite Things...

Over the months that I was not feeling well enough to create,
I missed so many of my favorite stamps and blogs.

My Favorite Things was one of those.
Now that I'm feeling much better and am back to my stamps, markers, glue, and papers,
I couldn't wait to jump back into these challenges!

The current sketch at MFT:

My take on that sketch along with one of my favorite little gals-

I enjoy making these little fans so much that I may just make a dozen or so just to have around!
And cutting out her little kimono is just too much fun!

My hands may still shake a bit when I hold a Copics marker, but that's not going to
stop this girl from making cards and layouts!  Practice, practice, practice....

Crafter's Companion shows "Friendship"!

My challenge entry this week at
is this adorable little S.w.a.l.k gal
and a sweet sentiment from Henry Thoreau.

This particular stamp set is called "With Sympathy", but I look at her and she just appears to be deeply sincere whatever her message and can be used for
 many occasions.
And I love to color these with my markers!

Inside of card reads...

and is a combination of sentiment from MFT,
and silhouette image by Unity Stamps.

I hope to win a gift certificate from Crafter's Companion so I can get more of these adorable stamps!

Back story to this layout:
My grandson decided, at age three, that he would "dress" as a super hero by wearing rubber kitchen gloves, swimming goggles, and training pants with white socks.
(Wish I'd gotten those in the picture!)
The funny part was HOW LONG he remained in this get-up!
Too funny!

Hellooooo.....

Just a quick CAS card for the Craft's Meow sketch challenge!

The bird cage in the "Fly Away" stamp set is one of my absolute favorites! It heat embosses so beautifully.

I added the stick pin with the little silver-blue and pink acrylic beads to add some bling,

I played a bit with the card shape by rounding the top INSIDE corner of the card base.

The scallop was made by cutting a section of the Spellbinders, Labels Six
three times and layering down the left side.  The butterflies were stamped, embossed, and supplemented with brown cardstock cut with a Fiskars punch.
The background is embossed with the Cuttlebug, "Wicker Weave" folder.
I like to keep a few "No Special Occasion" cards on hand.

Entered into challenge the challenge at
PaperPlay challenges (stamps with pins and pearls)
