December Creating with Lizzy

Hello and welcome to the middle of December.. I guess if you are like me you have thoughts of Christmas in your head and the planning for the season should be well  underway..(cough cough!!) And that might mean there is less time for getting in and doing some scrapbooking. I thought I would share two layouts that are similar but different, as sometimes if you are like me, just getting the layout started is the hard part.. but if you have a favorite layout design then use it.. These layouts are going into different albums so it is not going to matter that they use similar design features!!

The first layout is using a photo of my Daughter and her Husband and my Grand daughter and I wanted to go with a romantic softer look.. I have a thing at the moment for using circle frames and cutting my photo to suit.. I have painted some of the chipboard and left others the way they come.

These are the pieces I painted using a cheapish water color paint..

However when I was placing the flourishes on my page some of the paint lifted off, but I did like the result as it looked quite rustic. so some closer views of my layout..

That is such a pretty flourish and I had to use the Heart Frame around my photo as the moment captured is all about love..

The Scrap Words are always handy to pop onto my layout to add some emotion.

To add some more "love" to my page I used the Hanging Hearts Stencil randomly.

And a closer view of the sweet butterfly I glued onto the frame..

and my layout..  Love.

And here is a list of the Scrapmatts I have used on this layout.

The second layout I am sharing is using a photo taken quite a few years ago but it is a favorite and I just needed to do something festive!!

I started by making up some flowers using the chipboard flowers..(CB1026)  I painted them red and layered them up using die cut flowers.. I think this worked well and gave the flowers some dimension.

I stenciled some stars onto the back ground just using gold paint.. I usually mix the paint with texture paste but I didn't this time and the paint on its own worked well..

some closer views of my layout..

The flourish I painted lightly in a tan color to match the back ground papers.

These Holly branches were painted with a light green and they just pop on this page!

A closer view of the flowers which I think turned out really good..

and my layout..

October creating with Lizzy

Hell there! How is your October going? I hope things are well with you..

Today I am sharing with you my layout I have created with some wonderful Scrapmatts products.

I have a few of the lovely Arch Window Frames in my stash and I wanted to use them in a different way on my page.. They make great frames around photos but I felt like cutting them up and placing on my page as features.

As I usually do I started by adding some interest to the back ground with stencils, one with texture paste and the other with an ink pad and dauber.

I cut one frame in half and I left one frame whole.

I kept a bit of a butterfly theme happening with these chipboard butterflies that I colored with glitter gel pens, adding different layers of color until I was happy with the rustic look.

I colored the feathers the same way with different glitter gel pens to give a multi-colored look. and placed them over some fussy cut feathers.

and my layout.

Remember to smile everyday.

I hope I have inspired you to look at your Chipboard and see if there is some way you can use them in a different way.  We are only limited by our imagination...  and that is where the Design Team inspiration comes along.. make sure you pop by again to see what else we have been creating!

September Creating with Lizzy

Hello there! How are you today? It is Spring and my garden is singing with blooms and bees and I love it!

So I have a layout with a spring feel to it to share with you today. In September there is in Toowoomba a Carnival called "the Carnival of Flowers' and there are many private gardens as well as the Parks that are especially prepared for this time. For todays layout I am using a photo of my Daughter sitting in front of a beautiful bed of Lavender taken quite a years ago during the Carnival of Flowers.

and I will share some closer views of the lovely Scrapmatts products I have used.

I stenciled some leaves onto the background for some interest.. I had some Federations Corners that I painted with white acrylic paint and popped them in the corners of the background page.. I also wiped some white gesso around the edges with my finger. The leaf spray was painted with water colors.. I did lots of layers of the water colors to bring up the color.

This is a close up of the layered Design, the bottom piece was painted with the purple and the top piece was painted with white.. It makes a lovely contrast. My title came from the Assorted Words pack.

I thought this Flower sprig worked well on my page.

On the other side of my photo I used the Lavender Spray and those sweet little butterflies were from that pack too.

and my layout..

humm I can almost smell the lavender!!

July Creating with Lizzy

Hello there! Here we are in the second half of the year.. Are the days going as fast for you? The weeks seem to fly by and here I am back on the Scrapmatts Blog again to share with you what I have been creating using some fabulous Scrapmatts products.

As we are halfway through our aussie winter, I thought I would warm us up with a beachy layout..  There are quite a few new releases for our Beachy creating in the SCRAPMATTS ONLINE STORE HERE!!!  And I had some fun with  new stencils on my layout..  and I remembered to take some photos of my back ground as I created...

I used an old piece of sponge and watercolor paint and I dabbed the color over the stencil for the base for my layout.

This stencil reminds me of the ripples of the water in the rock pools along the beach..

Then I did some stamping and added some splats in a different blue to the back ground.

Then I used another beachy stencil with texture paste and added some fabulous texture. How cool are the shells!!?

When the texture paste was dry I embellished my layout with chipboard and fussy cut flowers around my photo.

I also cut some old netting to add to the texture..

I left the chipboard netting and shells in the raw state and popped them under the flowers. Feel free to cut the chipboard into the pieces you want for your embellishing.

The shells have such great detail!! I love em!

and my layout..

And there is only word I could use to title this page and that is paradise... sigh.. dreaming of those beach days!! At least we can remember those moments and put them on a page to cherish.

and here is a list of the Scrapmatts products I have used..
