Pretty in Pink 💕

Hello all, I'm back again this month with some more pretty floral projects - the majority of my photos are taken out doors so I find the pinks and greens always work beautifully with most of them!
For this layout I created my title by inking some of these lovely chipboard words.

And of course I could not resist adding in these black panelled words - I love how these look on any project and find myself reaching for them often as a bit of a substitute for journaling. The words bring feeling to the layouts without too much effort.

These are another wonderful little treasure trove of scrap words that you can add to any project that look really dynamic with their varied text presentation.

And lets not forget background stencilling - I used a simple diamond pattern this time to add a bit of action to the background - this is an old favourite of mine 💕

For this cute lamp embellishment I simply coloured the chipboard with a black sharpie and after adhering it to the page I filled the lamp section with some Crystalina Kindy Glitz - giving it a bit of a magical luminescent look.

With the left over papers from my layout I also made a card - I have about a million happy birthday cards in my stash so now I'm focusing on getting a good supply of cards I can give to friends when I want to be encouraging or even just say thanks.

Once again these solid backed titles are just marvellous for adding sentiments
and this pack in particular is very versatile for cards.

A few subtly inked leaves was all this one needed to finish it off with the rose patterned papers.

Thanks for popping by for a look - I hope you have found some inspiration
for helping with your own projects.

Cheers from Kel

Something For Everyone

Hello creative people!

This month I'm sharing a set of step cards full of flowers, enhanced by the simple application of Scrapmatts words and embellishments 💕

While I have focused on creating 3 different cards for different occasions I will confess I used the same sheet of paper for the background of all 3 - this kind of efficiency cant be beat! lol

I also used the Scrapmatts Step Card template to keep things simple for myself.

This first card is for Mother's Day - which is just around the corner now...

I teamed up the classic chippy title with some lovely simple leaves to
give a bright pop of colour to my vase of flowers ...

I painted the base leaf with a forest green and the
top part of the leaf with a bright light green.
To get the textured look on the base leaf I used a rough brush
and splattered the paint about a bit.

- and of course one of those versatile little scrap word tiles I
can't resist slipping into almost every project I create these days!

These lovely expressions played a central role in the next couple of cards as well...

Again the leaves helped lift the whole card by giving it an even greater 3D feel,
rather than just the step design - the chipboard word tiles helped to build this effect as well.

And for this final card I used a traditional chipboard 'Happy Birthday' title
combined with more of the beautiful scrap words in black...

A 'Happy Birthday'  pack like this with multiple  phrases in it is perfect for the
avid card maker and a great item to have in the essentials kit - mind you I love
the smaller size of these lovely words as I can just as easily add them to my
layouts as well when scrapping birthdays.

And thats it from me today - I hope you are all enjoying your creative journey
and finding inspiration in all of life's beautiful moments...

Cheers from Kel

Best Day Ever

Hello everyone!

Well here we are at the close of yet another month ... I don't know about you
but I feel like July has been a really long year! lol

I've scrapbooked less this month so only have a single layout to share,
but only because I've been busy making extra cards.

Cards are the perfect way to let people know you are thinking about them and snail mail is making a comeback in the light of global lockdowns - and truthfully -  I can see why ... connecting with people even in a small way is a beautiful thing to do and as crafters we have all the tools 💗

For this first layout I used this photo from
a fabulous family holiday where we explored a beautiful rainforest so I tried
to create a kind of magical forest feel.

I used spray paint on this title to make sure I ended up with colours that
popped as much as the ones in the picture.

Part of my plan to give the page a fairytale feel was to add some shadowy cobblestones
to the background which worked in well with the mottled background.

And this medium A6 sized stencil of flying birds was perfect for
creating a little flock of forest swallows.

And here are some of the cards I've been making - first a Birthday one
made from some papers I designed and printed myself...

I spray painted the title to get a glossy look and used ink the leaves to blend in the tones.

The chipboard sentiment and pretty bling really lifted the the project.

And I almost forgot ... when I first put this design together the background
was just on plain pink card stock and looked a bit under whelming so used this
intricate stencil and some white ink to give some action to the background 💗

And this special card was a very quick and easy one...

I used the heart stencil to bring some pink into the background
and then simply arranged some collectables on the front.

A little bit of 3D tape helped to create some volume with the collectables.

Then I did a variegated colour technique on this gorgeous title to
make it the centrepiece of the card...

Adding some pink first

And some brown second

...then I just added a few special words to finish it all off.

And thats it from me this month.
keep caring
keep sharing
keep creating
💗
