'Dreams Do Come True' by Kim

Hello friends of Scrapmatts!

Kim here to share a layout and a couple of cards I've created of late!

Last month I was invited to teach a scrapbooking class over in
Cootamundra.
The day was organized by the lovely Cheryl O'Brien & Merrilyn Jackson.
We had a fun filled day creating 2 layouts, one by the talented Wendy Bennett and one by me of course. We also created beautiful handmade flowers, instructed by the
fun filled Annette Edmonds!!

Here is my layout created for the day.

 [Dreams Do Come True]
This is my middle girl, Madison. When she was a little girl all she wanted to be was a mermaid...she was able to dress like one for her sister's 21st birthday party earlier this year. She spent hours gluing shells to her mermaid bra...which turned out beautiful! We also created a lovely tail (sorry you can't see this in my pic...maybe on a future layout!?)

 I have used the awesome
on this layout and love the effect!

Here are the stunning flowers we also made on the day!
(Mine were made by the AMAZING Annette Edmonds)

Today I also wish to share a couple of cards I whipped up over the weekend using the
fantastic
(love adding this to cards)

On this card I have used
and
I kept the design very simple & elegant.

I do hope you have enjoyed looking at my creations?

Scrapmatts projects and tag tutorial

Hi there! I'd like to share a few works I've made with Scrapmatts chipboards, and a small tutorial for altering your chipboard tags

First I made a romantic layout. I was looking forward to using the border chippie (CB2004 Page Borders 03) and I thought it was the perfect picture for it. I gave it a coat of gesso, painted it with white acrylic paint and embossed a script stamp with clear embossing powder. Finally, I painted it again with twinkling h2o, leaving the embossed areas white.

Here I used CB2004 Page Borders 03,CB5112 Hanging Hearts 01 ,CB1107 Clocks 08,CH064 Keys #3, CB4061 Assorted Words 17, CB1220 Ornate Frames 22

I also altered the gorgeous Mini Tray (CB6094 Mini Tray Stamp 01). It's so tiny and cute! I used some sewing themed chiboards to decorate it, it's going to be a gift form my mother and she likes sewing and knitting.

I used CB6094 Mini Tray Stamp 01, CB1194 Sewing 02,CB1168 Assorted Words 10

Finally, I altered two chipboard tags. I had so much fun making my backgrounds!!

I used CB3008 Tags 04, CB3007 Tags 03, CB4006 Frames 01, CB4063 Leaf Spray 13

Also, I'd like to share a quick tutorial of how I made the background of the second tag.
First I painted my tag with gesso, I applied two coats.

Then I covered it with Gelatos in different colors

I blended the colors

I used a mask and covered it with acrylic glaze. You can use gel medium too.

Covered it again with another color

Then I wiped the excess of paint

And this is how it turned out!

I added a few splats of color with a homemade mist, and I was done!!
