Good Monday Morning!

Hi! Hope you had an excellent weekend! We had a really nice one- Saturday- A's best friend stayed over and we treated her to one of our family traditions- Backwards Dinner. We only have it maybe 2x a year. We have ice cream sundaes then dinner, if anyone is still hungry that is. The girls picked chocolate/vanilla ice cream, I made homemade caramel and chocolate ganache ( better then most hot fudges) and we had bananas and whip cream with sprinkles. I keep saying we- but DH and I opted for dinner first- tacos- which was a hard choice for the girls to have second- since we all just love tacos! It was such a big hit!!
Do you have any different traditions that you celebrate?

On to my card- based on Laura's sketch over at 2sketchesforyou- this week my 1st card sketch ever is debuting- so if you get the chance- check it out and let me see what you do with it!
I used scraps- again- but also some new stuff I picked up this week. The paper is KaiserCraft, the diecut sheet is KI memories, rubon is Bobunny, the screen print journal spot is Hambly, and the leaves are MAMBI. I added my button and hemp bow, as usual! I really love this one!
Here is my take on the sketch I did at 2sketches4you today. I used KaiserCraft papers, a handcut heart from cardboard, handcut wings, holly berries and rubon from Bobunny, and craft supply ribbon and button with hemp. I punched the squares out with a 2 inch square and I machine stitched around the edges. ( love that funky uneven line? shh! don't tell anyone- I can't sew a straight line! haha - whenever I try to, it goes astray, so I deliberately make it wonky)

Next I get to share what I worked on at the end of the week last week. Bobunny has this new Holiday Cheer line- omgosh! I sure do love it- I love pinks and greens and blues for cmas, the fun bright colors- those are more my style. what you can't see as well on my pics are all the sparkles from the glitter glue on these. ( think hard and imagine it! LOL!)
A came in the other day to my office- took a look at the set, grabbed the door hanger and took off saying- thanks mommy! LOL! Um- I think she's laid claim to it.

Here are the close ups- it's pretty much all Bobunny Holiday Cheer stuff- the stamps are Paper Salon, then I cut them out( the tree and some of the gifts)- my wonderful friend Michelle sent these stamps to me and I finally am getting to use them. As I look at the bottom of the house- it's too plain- I'm going to buy some of the glitter snow stuff and add it to the edge there.
I hand drew the snowman, and I added lots of rickrack to the house. I like it so much- I'm thinking about making a small christmas birdhouse village. wouldn't that be adorable!
This is the coveted door hanger, I guess I'll have to make another for Lil' A's room. again- the tree is stamped and cut out- stamped with Paper Salon stamps. I hand cut the stars. I cut apart the bobunny sticker for the ho ho ho- I really do that a lot- cut up stickers to make them work for me- don't be afraid to alter your materials to make them your own. I made the small journal spot and then just layered stickers and paper, and gems overtop. bobunny rubbon and of course, my required buttons and hemp.

Last is this tiny jar I picked up at Walmart. I filled it with Hershey's Bliss chocolates- yumm- dark chocolate! I added papers, and stickers to the jar, the round one on the lid is a sticker, then I layered paper overtop- since the stickers tend to stick to the glass better. I cut the ornament from a sticker, so I layered it onto paper, then added gems in pretty colors. the pink tag says Happy Holidays, and then I added a big red tie there to the lid. Again- I cut up the have a jolly holiday sticker, then added a couple gems for sparkle.
All in all- I think some of these would make nice gifts- esp the jar!!

I'd love to hear your comments on my projects today! thanks so much! have a great day
