Bumble Bee Day!!

Yay it's Friday & a Happy One to you friends!! I am in painting pergatory right now, hee hee---oh how I hate to paint! When we moved in our house we had the entire house painted professionally cuz' I hate it soooo much--but I didn't want to wait for anyone to come this time so I've tackled it myself, YUCK! I know some people love to paint (crazies, lol) but I don't know why--it's messy, boring & takes too long. I just wanna move everything in & be done already ya know--and my hubby is SO the OPPOSITE of me. He's slow & steady & I'm ADD super-fast & want it all done right now, LOL--so getting him to hang shelves & bring up the furniture in "my time frame" is gonna be a struggle for sure! I'm makin' him a big pot of his favorite chili tomorrow to sweeten him up a bit, hee hee---oh the powers of sweet-talk & good food :o) After 14 years together I know how to "work him", shhhh don't tell him that though, bwahahahhh! But "MY" plan is to be done by Sunday evening so we'll see....!

NewsBitz:

Today I'm sharing a project that I hadn't previously shown that I did during my guest stint for All That Scraps last month. This 3x3 Notecard Gift Set uses the fabulously cute "Bumble B Bear" stamp set! I just love all the fun images that come in this set--had to use them all on one gift!! All of the cardstock & dp is from Paper Trey Ink.

All of the notecards are 3x3" and use similar elements. The honeypot got a thick coat of diamond glaze on it and the bee's & bear's wings have diamond stickles on them. On the bear card there are 3 Bella Baubles in copper.
For this card I cut the bee out & perched him on top of 2 stacked Primas--so cute!
I love, love to make these fun 4x4" boxes--you can find the directions to it right HERE. Very easy to make & quick too! I just decorated the box with the same materials, wrapped the lid w/ ribbon & added a fun charm! Just a great gift to make for someone special in your life (great teacher gifts too)!

Hope you have a fabulous Friday & I'll see ya back here with a "surprise" sneakie peekie & project for the Copic Creations Challenge Blog, so stop back by 'kay!!

Snow Girl!!

Yeahhhhh! It's Friday my friends! I am sooooo ready for the weekend so I can get some much needed rest. My son and I are both sickie-poo with nasty head colds, YUCKY, especially at this time of year. We don't really have any plans this weekend other than doing some more Christmas shopping--I'd like to be finished up with all of that by next week (we'll see, fingers crosses)! How are you doin' with your holiday cards & shopping?
Ok, onto my projects today, of which I have 2 for ya since I didn't post any yesterday!

Today is the last day to enter my Whiff of Joy Blog Candy--you have until 11 pm (EST) tonight to leave a comment on this post!! I'll announce the winner tomorrow--Good Luck!
***********************************************************

This card uses some of my favorite things--cute image, snowflakes & yummy dp! I think this lil' Lizzie from Whiff of Joy is just the cutest dollbaby evah' and my friend Summer has them in stock here in the states at her store! I paired her up with this most yummo-licious dp from Dovecraft. Susana's Custom Art & Card Design is the ONLY store right now here in the states to carry Dovecraft and she has it in 8x8 paper packs. If you lovee this dp called "Winter Wonderland" you can email Susana at susana@susanascustomartandcarddesign.com and she will be taking pre-orders until 5 pm (PST) tomorrow becuz' she sold out of the first batch of this design. I will have another card with this dp up tomorrow & it's even yummier, lol! Make sure and check out the other designs too---they're all sooooo pretty!

I used PTI's shimmery white cs on this card (lovee that too) along with my Marvy Snowflake punches, glitter dots from Gina K and the snowflake brads are from The Stampin ' Place and of course she's colored w/ Copics!

This is a close up of the most wonderful flock out there (& I've tried 'em all). I used this Doodlebug Crushed Velvet Flock in lily white on all of Lizzie's fur trims--its nice and fine & adheres wonderfully. Susana will have it in her shop next week in variety packs (gotta love that) & single bottles! If you like to flock or wanna try it, you MUST get this stuff, I seriously recommend it (and no I don't get any $$ for saying that, LOL).

You might wanna click on this pic to make it larger, cuz' since its a wideshot I couldn't get it any bigger here for ya! I made a set of notecards (2 each) as a gift using H&M Stamp Co's "A Lil' Behind" stamp set. Oh how I lovee this "hiney" set--it suits my personality so well (if you know me well you know my quirky sense of humor & sarcasm well). Their are many other images in this set and soooo many cute sayings too! I decided on a black/white scheme w/ a punch of 1 other color and dry embossing on each. (Cow has swiss dots embossed on black, bear has scored criss-cross on white bg, chickie has a scored square around) All colored w/ Copics and accented with my favorite diamond stickles. Do they make ya' laugh? ME TOO--ROFL!!

I'll be back here tomorrow with the winner of my blog candy and another project for ya!

Back To School!!

Happy Wednesday Mornin' to ya!! I'm hoping the weather stays nice so we can get over to the pool today for awhile. Not too many more pool days left sadly, so I gotta get there while I can. The kids are each bringing a friend and then my son is having a sleepover at his friends house--hopefully he'll get some sleep (ha ha) so he won't be grumpy the next day--wishful thinking right?

***BLOG CANDY***If you haven't entered for my blog candy yet, you can do so until Thursday 8/21 11 pm EST here.

With all this school shopping, I thought it was also time to start a couple of my projects for the actual "first day". I always make my kids a special card to put in their lunchbox the first day, along with a "sweet" treat to wish them well. Today I made the card for my dd and a small gift for my son to give to his new teacher the 1st day.

The card was made using one of my Magnolia stamps "Tilda w/ Pencil" that I recieved from Diana Crick (contact her directly for ordering info at magnolia.us@shaw.ca ). I just got my new DCWV "Grade School" dp from Joann's -- it is so cute and perfect for school projects. I loved this doodly notepaper dp, it doesn't need too many embellishments to make it stand out. Tilda is colored with my Copics and then I used my nestabilities to cut the rectangles out of SU cs. I used the black rectangle like a chalkboard and outlined it with my Inkssentials pen. Tilda's jacket was paper pieced to match the corner brackets and I added yellow glitter dots to them for some sparkle. The little apple is a button I got from Michaels in a pack--I just cut off the back loop and glue dotted it to the card. The sentiment is from Gina K's "kindred greetings for kids" stamp set and I thought it was just perfect for this card. Hope you likee!

The second pictures are of a 3x3 notecard gift set I made for my son's teacher. Laurie Schmidlin did a fabulous tutorial for this box on SCS that you can see here--fun and easy. I will definitely be making more of these. Again the dp is from DCWV "Grade School" pack--lovin' it. I used my JustRite Monogram stamps to make the circles--I used the small letters to spell out "From The Desk Of" on the border and the "S" is from the Curlz font (JustRite is coming out w/ a bunch of new products that are fabulous--check 'em out). I stamped them 1 at a time with the different SU inks. The cute apple on top of the box and on the envies is from SU's "Tart & Tangy" set--I added red stickles to the apple for extra sparkle. All the circles were made w/ my Nestabilities from various SU cs. Really easy to assemble and put together. I made 6 notecards and matching envies for this set (I bought the envelopes from Michaels). I think everyone could use a set of notecards like this--great gift idea for anyone.

That's all for me today! I'll be back tomorrow with another project and card. Until then...

Hoarding or Saving?

Good afternoon everyone! The weather is calm today, but steamy hot (95 degrees w/ humidity)! I'm looking forward to going to our club's pool this weekend and chilling out. The only thing we have going on is my son's semi-black belt ceremony for Tae Kwon Do to go to. He's only one step away from earning his black belt, but that will be 6 more months or so. I'm going to see "Sex & The City" with a group of my girlfriends tomorrow nite. We're having dinner first and then catching the movie--I'm looking forward to a night out with the gals! My daughter is going to a slumber party so it'll just be my son & hubby home alone to do "guy" stuff (whatever that is).

I had mentioned the other day about my hoarding, but I don't really like that word so I say "saving"! I'm not really a hoarder of most things (I easily can purge thru most stuff & I'm definitely not a pack rat), but I do "save" my scrappin' supplies. You'd think they were never going to make them again by the way I buy and keep doubles of everything. I always buy 2 or 3 sheets of my patterned paper & ribbon, but then I'm afraid to use it--just doesn't make much sense--I want to make sure I have enough on hand for the next project--ha ha! I have all these wonderful papers and its like I'm saving for a rainy day or something--gotta stop that. My new motto is to use what I get and not worry about it so much--silly me!! Do any of you "save" your supplies and not use them? Hopefully I'm not the only one :) So is it really hoarding or just selectively saving? Hmmmm....

Ok, onto the project of the day. I made this 3x3 card box with matching notecards for a challenge for My Favorite Things (MFT) that you find out about here. You have to use their stamps and make a 3x3 card & matching envie--I took it one step further and made the box too. You can find a template for this 3x3 box here (scroll up to top of page). I just loved this "Ride Em Cowgirls" set by MFT when it came out & rushed to order it. Once again, this is the first time I've inked it up--surprise, surprise. (MFT released their new stamps last night & guess who ordered more!) The patterned paper is by Paper Trey Ink (PTI) called "bitty baby blessings" (small pack)--I thought the colors and pattern would work wonderful with the cowgirl theme. Her dress is paper pieced and she's colored with Copics. The kraft paper that the card bases/box base is made of is by PTI too--really a nice weight. To make the envelopes, I just deconstructed one of SU's 3x3 envies and made my own template. I made the little sheriff star badges into stickers with my Xyron sticker maker for envie seals. The box closes with a Basic Grey magnet snap. I'm happy with how it turned out & I know exactly who I'm going to gift it to!
Remember, if you haven't entered for a chance to win my Blog Candy, please do so before 11 pm tonight so I can post the winner tomorrow afternoon!! Good luck!
