The "Duh" Factor is Hereditary!!!

I had always wondered if any of the kids had inherited my "duh factor" (you know, all those little dumb things you say or do without realising that has everyone else going Duh!!!).

We have had ants running through our bedroom and Narny's bedroom (coming in from the cold, I think), these nasty little critters have been traipsing around the room and back again, so we set bait traps in both rooms and after a few days DH blasted the holes they were coming in with antspray and they all disappeared.

Until last night, when Narny announced that a few were back in her room. I told her to go and spray them and that should get rid of them seeing as there weren't many...off she went...

...she came back and smelt really nice, I said "did you spray yourself while you were there? were you smelly?"

Her reply, no, I used one of my perfumes I hate and sprayed the ants like you said...

...She sprayed them WITH PERFUME not ANT SRAY!!!

They will be the best smelling ants around LOL.

So it's official - Narny has inherited the duh factor!

My Naked Chef's!!!

Ha, I knew that title would get your attention. The cooks (Zak and Narny) are back in the kitchen and tonight have created with love some Lolly Cake - for you non Kiwi's that is a biscuit like malt crumbled and then mixed with condensed milk, butter and some soft lollies and they also threw in marshmellows as a bonus then its all rolled in coconut mmmmmmm. I am starting to enjoy this cooking lark, the only problem is they don't do requests...

One Too Many Cooks!!!

I am becoming a bit scared, Zak and Narny seem to have developed some sort of strange passion for cooking. Yesterday I arrived home and they had made slugs (biscuity things), then they prepared Spagetti Bolongaise for tea.

Today they arrived home and got the cook books out to make Marshmellow Balls, they prepared all their ingredients and got into the business of crushing the biscuits...I just happened to glance over and said "you did get the marshmellows didn't you?", "marshmellows...marshmellows where does it say we need marshmellows?", "well" I replied "you are making marshmellow balls aren't you? you do need to wrap you biscuit mix around a marshmellow don't you?". After a quick consultation I bet you can guess what the next question was - "Mum, can you go to the supermarket". I had better get going, I think it is almost time for my taste test!

Scrapbooking Narny!!!

I have been so flat tack lately (not really sure what I have been busy doing...but I have been busy) that I have not had time to create any scrapbooking pages. I decided to share this one I did a while ago. Here is Narny when I thought tearing would be different...as usual got a bit carried away and tore everything in sight including the photos! But I am pleased with the results. All paper is Bazzill and random DP. Lettering created by yours truely (could you tell).

I Have Created a Monster!!!

Today the littlies went out to play at their friends house - thank you, thank you, thank you other people who put up with my children for the day.

Anyways DH thought if we could get rid of Narny, we could have a romantic day for two (yeah, right! Doesn't he know I have new copics with my name on them).
Unfortunately even with the areoplane flying a "take Narny Now" banner across the sky, we got no offers, so resigned ourselves to the fact, that she was here to stay and play with us.

So DH went out to chop some wood (man speak for play???) and Narny and I sat down to test out the Copics (woman speak for stressful colour testing situation???). I had told Narny that she couldn't touch my copics (even to move them out of her way) because they are so valuable and they are MINE. But taking pity on the poor child I said she could colour with them...BIG MISTAKE!!!
She has coloured about 3 images and apparently my colours are not sufficient and I should have more...probably the whole lot in fact if we want to colour properly. I have nothing for shading and not enough colours to match what she wants to do, also Narny has decided she needs to buy herself a colourless blender. And wonders why don't I have more of the softer light colours that are available and suit her style better. Tomorrow, we have to practice our shading (it is becoming more like work and less like a hobby) because our images don't look as they should...according to Narny!!!

More Flower Garden

I am loving these colours (not very much me, normally), everything Su including my favorite Crystal Effects all over the flower. I am in countdown mode as my cast comes off tomorrow YAY, can't wait, I will be in that bath all afternoon (and knowing me I'll climb out slip and break the other foot), told the kids I would be a beautiful mermaid when they came home...Narny announced I would be more like a wrinkly prune, thank you darling daughter!!!
