for the first time in forever

Bonus outfit! I actually had this scheduled for last Sunday but blogger didn't post it for some reason :\ It seemed like the perfect follow-up to my post this morning about Frozen, though, since the skirt is Frozen themed! It's Elsa on one side and Anna on the other. Isn't that cute?!

My favorite princess is and always will be Belle, but Elsa is definitely high up on the list (although I guess she's technically a queen, so maybe she doesn't have to compete with Ariel after all.) I love Anna too, especially her awkwardness, but I feel like Elsa is more relatable, for me at least. Because I have super powers that can turn everything into ice. Didn't know that about me, did you?

let it go

I had planned on blogging while I was on vacation but my hotel's wifi didn't work, so a little unexpected hiatus ensued, whoops!

I was so excited about disneybounding as Elsa from Frozen during my trip but my outfit didn't work out entirely the way I had planned. The aqua colored dress I had originally planned on wearing didn't really fit properly, so I changed to a white dress (that reminds me of snow) and blue tights instead. I spray-painted my shoes silver and covered them in glitter, but when I unpacked them at the hotel most of the glitter had fallen off :( My super sparkly vintage 50's cardigan looked so pretty on the hanger but on me I just kind of felt like an 80 year old who should be hanging out by the slot machines at a casino. The only thing in my outfit that I was really 100% happy with was the ears. I attached glittery white snowflakes to my silver sequined mickey ears and they came out exactly the way I wanted. Perfect Frozen ears!!

I felt so "blah" about my outfit when I was wearing it but looking back it's not too bad. I still wish it could have been perfect but I guess I need to just let it go ;)

frozen

Last Saturday I went to see Frozen at the movies and dressed accordingly. Of course in the winter nobody can tell if you're theme-dressing for a movie because once you step outside you're buried under a dozen layers of outerwear. But I knew, so that must count for something..

If you haven't seen Frozen yet I HIGHLY recommend it. Aside from Up it's probably my favorite Disney movie since Mulan. I've already been obsessively looking up pins on ebay and I'm not ashamed to admit that I spent so much time memorizing my favorite song from the movie (Let it Go, I think that's the internet's favorite, too) that I'm hearing it in my head when I wake up. I'm not complaining. Ever since 3D animation came out I've been kind of iffy about it.. I just prefer old-fashioned 2D so much more. But I have to say that the animation in Frozen is breathtakingly beautiful. There were some scenes that I wished I could pause in the theater so I could soak up all the pretty.
