We're Moving in!

The house isn't ready, but we're going in anyhow.

This will be my last post for awhile.

I will be back when my internet is hooked up and I can find my computer. (or vice versa)

Say a little prayer....

Trying to smile!

We Have a Front Door!

Finally!
The guy even came to install it when he said he would - earlier than planned I think!

The door is a bit of a joke, though. We thought we were getting a nice wooden door with three tiny opaque windows in the middle. It seems he "told me" that it was only a facade, because what we got was a regular Israeli "Rav Bariach" door (special security door used here) with a wooden panel glued to the front. It's a nice panel peice, but it looks ridiculous!

But it's a door! We'll take care of getting a real wooden door later!

One more door to go on the side entrance to the kitchen...

Almost the whole house is painted. Fun, funky, bright, warm, color everywhere. I love color!

The bathroom vanities were deliverd and installed - AT 8 o'clock LAST NIGHT! I waited all day and they kept telling me, "He's there!"

It was an aggravating day, but slowly things are finishing up.

Today is clean and polish day.

Tomorrow the first of our stuff goes into the house and by Thursday evening, the third anniversary of our making aliyah, we will be living in our new home in Israel!

We won't have our own electricity. We will "borrow" enough for lights from our neighbor. But we won't have air conditioning.

Hopefully we will have plumbing!

But it will be ours.

A dream.

Come visit! The guest room will be ready!

Praying for a front door before we move in!

NED graduated 8th grade.

MB graduated 9th.

DB is knee deep into studying for bagrut.

Ely has had high fever for 4 days.

Ari finally rented a car to drive into Jerusalem and back.

I canceled all my clients for the next two weeks.

Super Amy arrived!!

When people ask me how I'm doing, I don't lie.

I answer them: "I'm doing the best I can." Because that's the truth.

27,100 th hit question

I lost track of counting. Who has time? But I do love getting your answers to my questions!

Let's try this one:

If you could name your most favorite book from your childhood, what would it be?

STEPS!!!

We have beautiful marble steps inside the house, going all the way up (minus 2 steps at the top) and all the way down. Now more sliding up or down on the dirt. One or two of them are crooked, but so what! We have steps!

The Arabs put in more bathroom floors today and the front porch.

It's coming along. Slowly....slowly!

Two weeks and counting.

Ari even packed a box today.

We are eagerly awaiting our Amy to whip us into organizational shape and take over where Mom left off...

One day, this will all be a blur...

So few deep thoughts

These days, my deep thoughts are reserved for when I am sitting with my clients or in my one hour personal therapy session.

Otherwise, I wake up, like this morning, at 4 am, with anxiety thoughts about tiles and wall color and electrical outlets and "geves" (what's the stuff used in America to create walls? I'm blanking...) and Arabs working in my house.

And delivery trucks and packing and...

I wish I could write something deep about something substantial I've been thinking about.

But mostly my days are spent self-absorbed, thinking/worrying about my kids, their well-being, i.e. their full bellies, clean clothes, feelings of success at school, etc., my relationship with my husband, packing and getting the new house ready to move into.

Did I start the countdown yet? Three weeks from yesterday (Tuesday). Will the house be ready? I hope somewhat!

So I apologize for the mundane-ness of this blog lately. I hope to be up and thinking and writing within the next month or so. In the meantime, please be patient with me.
Please.

Thanks.

Oh, by the way, for those of you who want to reply that I should have perspective and not worry so much and just enjoy, blah blah blah, I know all of it! I tell it to myself everyday. #1 It's not my personality, so i have to work hard at it and #2 When you're in it it's hard to have perspective.

(I'm trying) to SMILE!

In over a week...

I have welcomed Mom and Dad to Israel

I have chosen two bathtubs (one a jacuzzi tub), three regular shower "heads", one fancy one for Ari's shower, three kitchen sinks, three kitchen faucets, two bathroom sinks and vanities, granite for Mom's kitchen

I have chosen paint colors for almost every wall/room of the new house

I have made more decisions than I ever knew I could about building a house

I have met with clients who really need therapy!

I have met with the parents of a 15 year old client who used to be my NCSY advisors

I have packed a couple boxes

I have cooked, shopped, done laundry

I have slept...a little

I have tried to remember to breathe!

That's been my week. What decisions have you made?
